Janis Joplin, once of Port Arthur, TX, died of a heroin overdose at Hollywood's Landmark Hotel on October 4th, 1970, so here's "Ball and Chain," from 1967 I believe (kind of a raw video from that time, which doesn't dilute the power of her performance one bit).



(I read once that a movie of her life was going to be filmed with Renee Zellweger in the title role. That sounded pretty interesting - wonder if anything ever came of it?)
