Friday Stuff

Want to know about the latest political/legal maneuverings involving our Tiny Handed Impulse Control Issue Head of State? K.O. delivers them here…

…oh, and it looks like somebody doesn’t know what his job is – can we impeach him over just that already?

…and Sam Seder tells us what about a dozen vets found when they went to Puerto Rico to help (yeah, about as much of a “cluster” as you’d expect from our ruling cabal of compromised, incompetent frauds…to aid, click here)…

…and I give you another installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” from 10/14/09 (close enough), with former Repug U.S. House Rep John Shadegg (here) railing about Soviet style-Gulag health care, or something, which is darkly funny to me when you consider this from our Russian operative of a "president" (Shadegg now apparently toils for a D.C. law firm)…

…and yeah, how dare schoolteacher Deandre Harris defend himself from the white crazies trying to kill him. Of course he should be charged (tongue in cheek of course – typical for the Jeff Sessions DOJ...good work by Thom Hartmann and Greg Palast)…

…and in a related vein, Rachel Maddow gives us a lesson on Repugs and racism and how they were enabled by their same-party brethren in Congress; this tells us of the origins of the alt-right (with immigration reform as the “lightning rod” issue for these guttural weasels of course)…report is about five weeks old…

…and the prior two clips are a bit of a lead-in I suppose to this segment on Confederate statues from John Oliver (“You know how much a slave cost back then??!!” Priceless)…

…and with today’s day and date on the calendar in mind, I give you this tune from 1967.

Thursday Stuff

Rachel Maddow tells us about the insanity at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and what that’s doing to what passes for our relief efforts in Puerto Rico (and I think the lead-in had something to do with this)…

…and Cenk and Ana bring us a report on how Twitter, briefly, stood up to that lying sack of sh*t Marsha Blackburn and the alleged “baby parts” Planned Parenthood video (if nothing else, this is instructive in seeing how zombie lies from the other side never seem to die…oh, and by the way, to prove once more that commerce usually triumphs over intelligent, truthful editorial comment, Twitter caved...GREAT question by Ana at about 5:00)…

…oh, and I don’t recall hearing from our Tiny Handed “Dear Leader” on this, but four Marines were recently lost in Niger (the report by Judy Woodruff mentioned three – may we as a people be worthy of the sacrifices of our brave men and women in the armed services)…

…and yeah, apparently Neil Gorsuch really is that much of a snot, according to Ian Millhiser (who knows more about the Supreme Court than a lot of people IMHO), talking here with Sam Seder (more here)…

…and Seth Meyers tells us about the Gropenfuhrer feuding with his own party (normally I would say “pass the popcorn,” but between this and the Maddow report, I’m more concerned than anything else)…

…and with all of this craziness, I think we need something a little life-affirming (or country-affirming at least), and leave to four rock “gray beards” from “across the pond” to remind us what kind of character we possess as a people, despite what The Great Orange Maniac tries to do to us all…doesn’t hurt that this is a new tune, which I need here also.

Wednesday Stuff

K.O. brings us the latest on the cost of Mike Pence’s stunt on Sunday, to say nothing of the rest of this cabal of cabinet crooks…

…and I know I alluded to this yesterday, as did Keith Olbermann in the prior video, but here is more on the profile in utter cowardice from NFL head Roger Goodell recently (I didn’t know the thing with the players in the locker rooms during the anthem was the status quo until 2009…and yeah, I should have figured that Goodell was just doing what the owners told him to do, Jerry Jones in particular)……

…and don't look now, but progressive Dems are actually winning in the South...

…and Rachel Maddow tells us the latest on the Flint, MI water crisis (I don’t think this story is going to wind down anytime soon, nor should it…no disrespect to Dem U.S. House Rep Elijah Cummings, but I don’t see him getting any help on this from the other side)…

...and kudos to Roseanne Cash for standing up to the NRA..."Shut Up And Sing, The Sequel" (Mike Malloy comments...very NSFW mainly at the end...as far as I know, the silencer and armor-piercing bullets bills, which of course are madness, have been put on hold by this utterly supine and bought-and-paid-for Congress…and by the way, considering that her father once performed at Folsom Prison when everyone on earth was telling him not to – and ended up making both great art and a lot of $$ - I think I have an idea of what the “man in black” would have said to everyone claiming to speak for him)…

…and with the prior clip in mind, I give you the following (I think her accompanying guitarist flubbed a chord change, but it didn’t hurt the song…and there was much rejoicing).

Tuesday Stuff

K.O. tells us the latest on our infantile Gropenfuhrer and his lackey VP over their recent nonsense with the NFL (though, unfortunately, it may have worked due to the utter cowardice of Roger Goodell)…

…and I swear, if I were the besieged U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, at this point, I’d put up a sign advertising for help from any other country on the globe, since we have failed them so miserably, to our shame…

…and as far as I’m concerned, everyone in the administration of the Gropenfuhrer is unrepentant scum for allowing these and other horrors to continue, to say nothing of our wretched Republican-“led” Congress, and Scott Pruitt may be the absolute worst of the worst for this (and I’d honestly like to know the name of every one of the guttural life forms who stood and applauded Pruitt’s assault on our planet)…

…and I’m a little uncomfortable with the use of the laugh track here, but I still think this gives us an indication of how the rest of the world sees us, particularly on the gun issue…

…and yeah, I think Tiny Hands Jr. had better not cross metaphorical swords with Kimmel again based on this…

...and believe it or not, today is the 30th anniversary of the video for this song.

Monday Stuff

Isn’t it just so nice that Ivanka is such an advocate for women in her daddy’s wretched circle of influence? And yes, this most definitely is snark (and as I pointed out the other day, apparently the only thing our Tiny-Handed Treasonous Delusional Egomaniac of a “president” can get right is undoing all of the good work of his predecessor)…

…and right about now is the time when we tend to focus onto something else aside from the latest gun carnage – not trying to throw stones at anyone; it’s just a comment on how hectic our lives are…well, these brave Americans who have truly suffered as a result of this issue, to their credit, are having none of it (and I agree with The Rude One here)…

…and Kyle K. tells us that Generalissimo Trump is trying to decertify the Iran nuke deal, which I’m sure means to kill it (intelligent commentary on this IMHO…NSFW – glad he included Netanyahu, who for my money is a murderer too)…

…and gosh, what do you do for the bigot who insists on his or her own racial purity and has no way to determine that? Well, Stephen Colbert has an answer…

...and happy birthday to Jackson Browne, with a tune for the 30th anniversary last March of The Sainted Ronnie R coming clean on Iran-Contra (and yet again, imagine if a Dem had tried something like that in clear violation of the Boland Amendment)...

…and once back in the day, he appeared with Yoko Ono on The Dick Cavett Show and said that Congressman Ron Dellums, an African-American, said it was OK for him to use the “N” word, in case anyone gets upset by that…the selection is based partly on this, this, and this, as well as the first video in this post…also, I don’t have a lot to say about Harvey Weinstein because he isn’t a politician, but that doesn’t mean I think he’s anything but a moral leper for this…all of this is my admittedly long-winded way to note that today would have been the 77nd birthday of John Lennon.

(Oh, and DON’T get me started on the fact that, if Hillary Clinton had been a man, I think we would be dealing with a much better set of circumstances instead of our Impulse-Control-Issue Treasonous Toddler of a “president”).

Update: Sometimes, sadly, it writes itself.
