Friday Stuff

Brian Tyler Cohen gives us his analysis on the recent press conference by Robert Mueller (as I and many others have pointed out I’m sure, if the Gropenfuhrer had a “D” after his name instead of an “R,” he’d be impeached, convicted, sentenced, and laboring probably in a Club Fed somewhere wondering if Putin was going to try and give him a shiv when he wasn’t looking)…

…and keeping with that, John I. tells us that Our Treasonous, Tiny Handed Orange Dictator was dumb enough to admit that Russia helped him to get elected (and then of course he backtracked later)…

…and speaking of tricks from our ruling cabal of fools and criminals, Chris Hayes and Ari Berman talk about their attempt to rig the census with that ridiculous citizenship question (and yeah, I hope this Thomas Hofeller bastard is slowly roasting on a spit in hell – more here)…

…and I don’t know about you, but I’m more than a little fed up with the wingnuts crowing about how supposedly great our economy is (talk to our soybean farmers, the tourism industry, students looking to enroll in college in this country, etc. - and yeah, check this out too); actually, it was inherited from Obama, and as Farron Cousins notes, Generalissimo Trump is bound and determined to wreck things because, as usual, he’s too dumb to know the consequences of his actions (and oh yeah, by the way, as Cousins tells us)…

…and RIP Leon Redbone (apparently he was living nearby in New Hope, PA as noted here)…

…and with the weather FINALLY nice around here after days of rain (and given that we’re done with Memorial Day, even though June 21st is still weeks away), I thought it was a good time to hear this tune.

Thursday Stuff

I realize that it’s hard to find one reason in particular to despise Generalissimo Trump because he provides so many outrages every day (and I guess this is the latest one), but for me, the fact that he managed to bring back Elaine Chao to a position of prominence is one that stands out in a truly infamous way (recalling this post); Farron Cousins tells us about Chao’s latest bit of malfeasance…

Update 6/2/19: More odious garbage from Chao and her family is here.

Update 6/10/19: Of course she did (here).

Update 6/11/19: Drip, drip, drip...

…and Sam Seder and The Majority Report tell us about the DCCC protecting Dan Lipinski (yes, it is “Dan”…and unfortunately, I think Sam’s “Pebble Mine” comparison is apt…and Sam is referring to John Heinz in PA, by the way, who had more integrity in his cuticle than “No Corporate Tax” Pat Toomey has in his entire wretched body…and by the way, to help Marie Newman, please click here)…

…and speaking of Republicans with integrity (again, a John Heinz reference), Brian Tyler Cohen tells us about Justin Amash of Michigan; yes, he votes with the Gropenfuhrer 92 percent of the time as the clip tells us, but Amash is standing tall where it counts for now…glad to see his constituents appreciate that, even the MAGA-hat-wearing clown in the video, apparently…

…and he’s coming to this area tomorrow – to the Metropolitan Opera House on N. Broad Street in Philly I believe.

Wednesday Stuff

Carlos Maza of Vox does a commendable job here I think of explaining how Fix Noise infiltrates our supposedly “respectable” media with their idiocy (I believe Atrios once described this oh-so-indelicately as the “puke funnel,” which was spot-on)…

…and speaking of the devil spawn of Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes, the TMR crew tells us of Stuart Varney losing it when defending capitalism…yeah, I’d like to know what Varney’s reaction would be if he needed a bathroom break and was told to pee into a trash can instead to keep his job…and in case you think that’s an exaggeration, I give you this

…and Mike Malloy tells us about the students from a Christian college (Taylor University I believe) walking out on Mike Pence (very NSFW – and that slimy POS also said this to the West Point graduates...of course, Pence never served himself, though his son does)…

…and when it comes to climate matters, I give Dem U.S. House Rep Jared Huffman of California props for this

…and I know I’m a bit behind on this; Joy Reid weighs in on the proposed redesign of the $20 with Harriet Tubman (sooo, it takes NINE YEARS to prevent some of our paper currency from counterfeiting? Yeah – there was NO FREAKING WAY that Generalissimo Trump was going to replace Andrew Jackson or else the tiki torch crowd would have lost what’s left of their minds)…

…and if I’m going to include this tune for May, I know I’d better hurry up.

Monday Stuff

I honestly don’t understand what the issue is here with Bernie Sanders – yeah, when it comes to foreign policy (certainly when it comes to these damn wars), I don’t think Sanders has to apologize for a damn thing…

…and Thom Hartmann tells us about Generalissimo Trump trying to go to war with Iran (I almost can’t believe I’m typing these words…I’m hard pressed to give Rand Paul credit for anything whatsoever, but to be fair, I must do so here)…

…and as Farron Cousins reminds us, I think the phrase “double standard” is now officially synonymous with Not Your Father’s Republican Party…

…and since it is Memorial Day after all, I present the following (including this)…

...and happy 74th birthday to Bruce Cockburn, with a tune for the holiday...

…and I’m old enough to remember when Former President Highest Disapproval Rating In Gallup Poll History once banned any filming or photos of our fallen service members returning to Dover AFB from his Not So Excellent Adventure in Iraq; I know President Hopey Changey reversed that policy to his credit, but God only knows if the Gropenfuhrer has changed it back to the way we had it under Dubya or not…my guess is that he has because he reflexively hates anything having to do with Number 44…if nothing else, this song is a cautionary reminder.
