Friday Stuff

I was going to ignore this commentary from Lawrence O’Donnell about Gen. John Kelly’s appearance yesterday in the matter of the Gropenfuhrer’s bungled call to the family of Sgt. La David Johnson, one of the four Marines killed in Niger (more here…maybe a bit of Trump fatigue, though that definitely isn’t acceptable I know), but I’m glad I didn’t…and yeah, based on what Wilson says in the CNN article, Kelly is a liar...

…and Chris Hayes talks to Dem U.S. House Rep Luis Gutierrez about the ongoing misery in Puerto Rico – hard to keep track of all of the wretched infamies of our treasonous, ruling cabal of kleptocratic pirates - to help, click here

…and here is your periodic reminder that so-called “trickle down” (on?) economics is bullshit (h/t to Sen. Bernie Sanders)…

…also, I give you another reminder that politics is most definitely a contact sport also “across the pond” – kudos to actor Mark Ruffalo on Twitter for this (here…more on Scottish MP Mhairi Black is here)…

…and Cenk and Ana tell us about the Biloxi, MI school district that banned “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee because it apparently made people “uncomfortable”…funny, but I thought that was the point of the book and the movie (another response is here)…

…also, tomorrow marks what would have been the 100th birthday of John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie.

Thursday Stuff

Damn, what a truly awful legacy for the Gropenfuhrer to inflict on us all – once more, heckuva job, any of you who did anything whatsoever to elect him…

…and maybe the protest on the part of the NJ high school students could have waited until the board had decided what to do about the teacher who told a student to “speak American,” and if the board had upheld what the teacher did, THEN walk out, but I don’t think a little civil disobedience is such a bad thing either (here)…

…and yeah, I’d like to know how the hell Jared Kushner got a security clearance also…

…and I’d also like to know the name of the Dem who no doubt will line up to oppose Repug U.S. House Rep Tim Walberg next year – this guy just said “Get a life” to his constituents who claimed that Generalissimo Trump should be removed from office because of his tweets (hell, the wingnuts want Hillary Clinton thrown into the slam over nothing by comparison) – more on the truly awful Rep. Walberg is here

…well, to offer a bit of good news, I have to admit that I thought this was pretty cool…

…and happy 60th birthday to Karl Wallinger of World Party (a tune for all of you "trumpsters" out there).

Wednesday Stuff

David Pakman tells us about the latest dustup with Generalissimo Trump, this time telling the pregnant widow of one of the Marines slain in Niger that her deceased husband knew what he signed up for, or words to that effect (I’m not going to ask if this is the “bottom” for the Gropenfuhrer or not – at this point, I’m not even sure that there IS a bottom)…

Update: Yeah, I REALLY don’t want to know where the bottom is for President Fergus Laing (here).

And by the way, I should note that I’m trying to be scrupulous here in videos concerning the bilious Number 45. By that I mean that people such as Chris Hayes, who I genuinely respect, have had a lot of segments showing President Treasonous Egomaniac ranting on for a minute or two, and then presenting people to discuss why he’s crazy (though he is hardly alone on that one).

We ALREADY KNOW he’s crazy. There’s no need to point that out for the umpteenth time! HE NEEDS TO BE GONE!!!

…and K.O. points out the obvious concerning our Tiny Handed Dictator (“self-servatives”...good one)…

…and I wondered a bit where Rachel Maddow was going on this report on Hurricane Katrina and the wretched aftermath, but it looks like Kirstjen Nielsen is the utterly flawed common denominator here (and the note about PR losing power at about 15:00 is sickening, to say nothing of the lack of patients on the Comfort ship)…

…and here are a couple of more upbeat videos IMHO – the first has to do with what we can do as a people to end corruption in our politics…

…and conservatives for clean energy? Color me shocked - apparently they're serious, though...I may agree with them on absolutely nothing else, but kudos to them for this…

…and “congratulations” to Calista Gingrich for her nom as US ambassador to the Vatican – I think this tune selection is thoroughly deserved (here).

Tuesday Stuff

Rachel Maddow tells us the courageous story of Col. David Hackworth and the Big Orange Cheetoh lying (again) about Obama and ceremonies for our fallen service members…

…and speaking of honorable service people, congratulations to Sen. John McCain for being awarded the 2017 Liberty Medal (his words were plan and well-said enough, though I would like to have seen them aimed more directly at our ruling, kakistocratic cabal, but the reference to “blood and soil” is Bannon-esque language targeted right at the knuckle draggers who had more to do with installing the Gropenfuhrer than anyone else)…

…and K.O. reminds us of Generalissimo Trump and his, shall we say, Weinstein-ish behavior…

…which of course didn’t register at all with the “values voter” sheep who still lined up to support our Tiny-Handed, Treasonous, Impulse-Control-Issue resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue ("Two Corinthians walk into a bar..."...and how’s this for yuks?)…

…and the next time a wingnut bitches about the ACLU, show them this clip (the cop should undergo the same treatment that he inflicted on that child)…

…and I haven’t been able to find any tour dates bringing these folks to our area – a few in the UK into next year – but I just kind of like their sound, so here’s a video.

Monday Stuff

Farron Cousins tells us about the Gropenfuhrer’s lies (I think 5 per day is a conservative estimate, if you’ll excuse the expression)…

…and OF COURSE our Tiny-Handed Orange Delusional Psychotic of a “president” hates science like the rest of his foul political party and names the guy in charge of Accu Weather to head NOAA (and yet again, why should Americans get something for free like we’ve had all along when someone can mark it up and gouge us financially for it?)…

…and Mike Papantonio informs us on Dupont’s decision to use the chemical GenX in its manufacturing instead of c8, though both are apparently pretty bad (here)…

…and this tells us that, in another triumph for our formerly ol’ buddy Vlad Putin I’m sure, the U.S. is withdrawing from UNESCO (more here)…

…and legalization of pot has always been a bit of a slippery slope for yours truly, though I personally favor decriminalization for sure, but to claim that anyone has “overdosed” from pot is silly – not the greatest thing for your health, but let’s get real (NSFW)…

…and that isn’t necessarily meant as a transition to this tune to wish Bob Weir a happy 70th birthday – oh, OK, you found me out; maybe it is at that.
