Saturday Stuff

(I guess it would have been more appropriate to have this pic for 4/20…oh well.)

To begin, I give you “This Day In Doomsy History” from 4/22/10, in which Not Your Father’s Republican Party in Congress was doing all it could to jam up the works while the Dems ran Congress and the White House, for however brief a time…I don’t know how many times it needs to be pointed out that these characters have absolutely no desire to act in the best interest in the majority of this country, and that would be the party of Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao of course…

…and c’est dommage – it looks like Alex Jones is having some domestic issues and is now pleading for privacy – I think Stephen Colbert gives him the response he deserves here…

…and Jon Ossoff will continue to need our help for the next round of trying to win the GA-06 U.S. House seat versus Karen Handel, who has a bit of a reputation I must say…

…and speaking of political hacks, it looks like President Tiny-Handed Egomaniac’s choice to head the FCC is about as bad as you thought he might be (totally not answering the questions of Sens. Udall and Hassan of course)…

...and there was a time when I would have heard a media person in another country make a remark like this about our president and rally 'round the occupant of An Oval Office in response - not with the clown currently taking space there now (for anyone else this would be unbelievable, but for Number 45, lather, rinse, repeat...here)...

...and Happy Earth Day everybody - to learn more about the March for Science (and who would've thought we would have ever needed to do that in this country?), click here.

Friday Stuff

As someone more clever than I noted, I guess departing Repug U.S. House Rep Jason Chaffetz wants to spend more time looking through Hillary Clinton’s Emails at home (and yes, I believe there is a lot more to this also – and Cenk’s dismissive tone is entirely appropriate)…

…and K.O. tells us about Generalissimo Trump demanding the royal treatment he believes he deserves – what a laughing stock (ends at about 7:54 but runs long for some reason...and in a related story as they say, this is a TREMENDOUS post by Mark Sumner about our own 100 days in response)…

…and I think Rachel Maddow is actually reaching a bit here by starting with the whole Nigerian cash thing, though she’s absolutely spot-on about the Trumpster slush fund – didn’t give much of a thought to Venezuela, I have to admit, as well as the person from that country basically paying off the "Gropenfuhrer" to lift sanctions...as usual, a Repug - #45 in this case - looks into a mirror and sees everyone's reflection except his own...

...and don't look now, but the "Trumpsters" just deported a "DREAM-er" (and why the hell would we believe anything from this band of compromised idiots and frauds - another ridiculous edit to end an MSNBC video again...more here)...

...and I wonder if Repug U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake will take the hint from his fellow Repug Jason Chaffetz after this...

...and happy 70th birthday to Iggy Pop (hot and cold on this guy, I have to admit).

Thursday Stuff

(That T.R. sure knew a thing or two, didn't he?).

Yeah, the “Gropenfuhrer” just loves it when everyone tells him how great he supposedly is, eating it up like yet another slide of chocolate cake…

And oh yeah, that stinky Obama sure “failed” on foreign policy during his presidency, didn’t he? He sure “failed” when it came to keeping us safe, didn’t he? And what happened when the president before Obama was in charge, and that would be another Republican?

Let me think real hard, OK (and read all about this because, tragically, NOTHING is beyond the reach of the “Trumpsters”).

(And by the way, Chuckles Krauthammer of Jeff Bezos Daily feathered his comfortable nest quite well by pillorying Number 44 every single chance he could get – what a pathetic human being, Krauthammer I mean.)

…and K.O. reminds us that President Tiny-Handed Egomaniac’s perception of reality is apparently getting more and more tenuous – charming

…and is anyone in the mood for some genuine outrage in response to all of this craziness? Well, the Rev. Dr. William Barber is only too happy to oblige…

…and I’m not at all averse to giving Billo another shot on his way out the door – sorry to get a little dark here, but I think the point needs to be made that O’Reilly still draws a breath (unlike him, not trying to incite violence I hasten to add), but Dr. George Tiller is very, very dead, killed in his church by a lunatic goaded by Billo even though Tiller made a living largely from performing a medically legal procedure...

…and I wouldn’t buy a book from Bill Orally even if I needed something as a liner for my cat’s litter box…

…and I’ve put up that great Crosby, Stills and Nash song plenty of times for this day, but I’m not going to do that now – instead, I’ll wish a very belated happy 55th birthday to John Bell of Widespread Panic…hope it was a good one.

Wednesday Stuff

I give you Rachel Maddow’s “A” block last night about the foreign policy gaffes of the “Gropenfuhrer” (as well as those of “Spicey,” Mattis and McMaster all apparently not knowing where our carrier was that was supposedly bound for Korea)…

…and Maddow is back to talk with presidential historian Michael Beschloss about the Korean carrier group screwup (leading with JFK on the Cuban Missile Crisis – to think that Generalissimo Trump is now sitting in that office just about turns my stomach)…

(And by the way, would it have been nice for Jon Ossoff to clear the ridiculous 50-percent hurdle in the GA-06 special election and avoid the runoff with Repug Karen Handel, an avowed opponent of Planned Parenthood? Yes, but let’s look at it another way – Ossoff secured more votes in coming in first than all of his Republican challengers.

Yes, this means more appeals for money, and yes, this means more ridiculous attack ads from a political party with no desire or impulse of any kind whatsoever for forward-thinking leadership. But, though it’s about three-quarters of the proverbial loaf instead of the whole thing, it’s still progress, and we must not forget that.)

…and Joy-Ann Reid talks with David Sanger, on the Obama Administration’s evolving strategy against North Korea’s nukes (investing in cyber and other electronic attacks – you know, the way adult presidential leaders are supposed to handle stuff like this)…

…and I think Kyle K. is a little hard on Think Progress here, but he’s absolutely right about President Big Orange Cheetoh’s meely-mouthed “Buy American” posturing (NSFW)…

…and I give you another installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” from 4/18/12, with Fix Noise proclaiming a "war" on everything, though not women of course, something to keep in mind given Billo's recent travails...

…which ultimately led to the loss of his job today – couldn’t happen to a more deserving scumbag (here is a catchy little tune once more for the occasion – NSFW also).

Tuesday Stuff

K.O. introduces the possibility that President Tiny-Handed Egomaniac may have actually made a tape offering a deal with Putin to help #45 into An Oval Office (coming from the guy responsible for the “Access Hollywood” tape, I don’t doubt it – and I don’t care what anybody says; there’s “Apprentice” video out there that is being squelched because it would make our demented child-king look even worse)…

...and Lawrence O’Donnell tells us about the “Gropenfuhrer” and China, ending with some clips of Tom Cotton and Dean Heller getting what-for at their respective town halls (and oh yeah, all of those protesting were “paid”…sure they were)…

…and there’s just So Much Winning when it comes to Fergus Laing and gun sales – cry me a freaking river…

…and by the way, the whole “tax returns under audit” thing isn’t just a typical lie from “Donald Drumpf,” but it’s a particularly stupid one at that (here)…

…and I hope all of you who did anything whatsoever to enable the Big Orange Fraud to run roughshod over all of our lives continue to be proud of yourselves (and yes, I realize that DeVos is merely a symptom of this disease)…

...and RIP Bruce Langhorne, the inspiration behind this song.

Monday Stuff

(I particularly liked this sign from the tax day marches on Saturday, by the way - more here.)

And speaking of Saturday's protests, here is a report from the CBC News...

...and thanks to His Holiness for this...

...and from the sacred to the profane, Kyle tells us that President Big Orange Cheetoh is enshrouding even more secrecy (NSFW)…

…and here is Rachel Maddow with a report last week on what I would call the emerging foreign-policy wreckage from Generalissimo Trump (whatever minimal approval Fergus Laing will get from this will evaporate in a hurry if things backfire, and given the “Trumpster” track record, I’d put my money on that sadly)…

…and with a nod to the prior clip, John Oliver gives us his analysis on Trump dropping the MOAB last week (NSFW also...and with the typical Fix Noise cheerleading of course - guess I'm just a pointy-headed liberal for noting that this took place during Holy Week and Passover, not that our clueless meat sack of a "president" would care of course)…

…and given the wrapup in the prior video, I probably should have thought to include this song before now, but better late than never I guess (somewhat outdated topical references and all – “can I buy another slice of real estate?”).

Happy Easter 2017

A little late I know, but may you all have a happy and blessed Easter. If you don't observe anything, may you have a happy and blessed long weekend.
