Friday Stuff

God, I hope Lawrence O’Donnell is right, though we still have to make that happen in two years (and yeah, it’s amazing that this basically came from a conservative strategist)…

…and gee, I wonder what kind of “follow-up” there will be to this? Do you really need to ask? Lather, rinse, repeat (sigh – love to be wrong - Hangin' Judge JR is such a prince for authoring all this garbage via those awful Supreme Court rulings in "Citizens United" and "McCutcheon")…

…and I give you another example of Repug hypocrisy, Part The Infinity, as Charles Pierce would say (here...and yep, definitely not a shining moment for Mary Landrieu)…

...and yeah, I think it's time for a recent tune as opposed to what you might call a "moldy oldie."

Thursday Stuff

(I also posted here.)

So it looks like lame duck U.S. Senator Crazy Tom Coburn is predicting "violence and anarchy" here over an upcoming immigration order from Number 44, something Republican presidents did with no pushback, as noted here, huh? Looks like it's time for this .gif again, I guess (if Coburn can invoke violent imagery, then I can too)...

...and K.O. once had the following to say about Coburn...

…and flash forward back to now, only this time with Billo taking top “honors” (here)…

...and speaking of immigration, it sounds like a few wingnut heads are getting ready to explode on the issue (here) – guess it's acceptable for The Sainted Ronnie R, but not that Kenyan Muslim Socialist (not going to try and fact check The Gipper here – probably would be interesting, though)...

...and RIP film director Mike Nichols (from this movie, for all you non-boomers out there)...

..and before he became a legendary filmmaker, he was part of a legendary comedy duo also...

...and the whole immigration issue puts me in a mind to hear this song again.

Wednesday Stuff

(I also posted here.)

Rachel Maddow tells us more about the breeding ground for bad government, as The Eternal Molly Ivins has referred to “the land of the yellow rose” (amazing that, with all of the Dupont/Laporte plant's infractions, they were somehow off the proverbial radar from other Do-Gooder groups; I realize folks like the Sierra Club can only be so many places at once, though)...

..and I give you another “triumph” of our corporate media...that is, most of the consumers of news in this country don't understand the issues, including Keystone XL (here); fortunately, Sen. Bernie Sanders is here to speak truth to stoo-pid...

...and it looks like Chuck and Dave are up to more no good based on this; this video from Robert Greenwald tells a similar story (lots of code language - kind of creepy to see the parallels to the 70s and before...)...

...and RIP Jimmy Ruffin.

Tuesday Stuff

Unfortunately, we have a lot more like this to deal with for at least the next two years (heckuva job, everybody who stayed home two weeks ago)…

…and speaking of the election, how in God’s name did Alison Lundergan Grimes manage to not take advantage of THIS (NSFW)?...

…I mean, you know Jon Stewart would have, right? (here - great line aimed at Romney at about 7:00, by the way)…

…and yesterday marked what would have been the 70th birthday of Gene Clark of The Byrds, a guy who probably should have ended up being at least as famous as his other more celebrated band mates (Roger McGuinn, Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman and, of course, David Crosby), but whose life and career was cut short primarily by alcohol – here is one of the band’s signature tunes, which was hugely controversial way back when (almost charming in its naiveté given what is routinely considered part of “pop culture” now).

Monday Stuff

I give you the latest episode of FAIR TV (another day, another lie from Former President Highest Disapproval Rating In Gallup Poll History)…

...and once again, Bill Maher says what needs to be said (NSFW)...

...and yeah, I guess it's time to hear from another "dumbass conservative" (here - backgrounder is here; a little squeamish about the "slitting throat" remark, though)...

…and here is today’s regional weather forecast.
