Saturday Stuff

It looks like K.O. has rejoined the fight once more; he’s back to comment on Trump and Barr and something called the Durham Report; gosh, I wonder if the reason why the report won’t be released before the election is because it would implicate Our Orange Pustule-In-Chief more than anyone else?...

...and SO MUCH WINNING! Looks like the Gropenfuhrer lost in court again in an effort to hide his tax records (Pete Williams reports...another reason why 45 and Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao can’t wait to get their “Christian” handmaiden installed on the Supreme Court, since, as Williams says, the appeal to get his tax records squelched is surely on its way to the SCOTUS)...

...and David Doel tells us about AOC telling that flake Tulsi Gabbard to apologize for defending that Project Veritas garbage that was meant to slam Ilhan Omar (a follow-up to a prior video I included on 9/30); first though, Doel gives credit to Gabbard for defending Julian Assange, who I don’t think deserves credit for a damn thing (and Thomas Massie is a colossal idiot...see his ridiculous questioning of John Kerry on climate change...I wouldn’t sign on with him for a proclamation that the sky is blue, and I have only a slightly better opinion on Pelosi)...

...and this Don Winslow clip asks an important question – how can the Gropenfuhrer protect America when he can’t even protect himself and those around him (a related post is here)...

...and Kyle brings us the recording of what Melania really thinks about the kids on the border – every bit as clueless and entitled as you might expect (as despicable as her husband is, don’t ever think that she needs to be let off the hook for her behavior also)...

...and gee, it looks like Huckleberry Graham accidentally let his white hood show, as noted here (to do something about it, click here...and to help other Dems running for the U.S. Senate, click here)...

...and Lawrence O’Donnell speaks with author Kathleen Belew about the attempt to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and do God only knows what (more here)...

...and I’m in the mood for one more John Lennon tune, even though we recognized what would have been his 80th birthday yesterday (more here).

Friday Stuff

I noted yesterday that Cenk Uygur tore into Kamala Harris presumably because she wasn’t angry enough in her debate with that liar Mike Pence – well, to be fair, this was a good moment from her (and that horrible moderator let Pence drone on of course, and Harris asked for equal time, but this Susan Page person wouldn’t give it to her).

And I realize Harris didn’t have enough time to say this, but here is what I would have said about Pence’s garbage attack on the Iran nuclear deal. It was signed on by 5 countries including Russia and China, and the point of the deal wasn’t to get Iran to stop being bad terrorist actors. That would be a laudable goal, but it wasn’t the point of the nuke deal. The point of the deal WAS TO GET IRAN TO STOP ENRICHING URANIUM AND DEVELOPING ITS NUCLEAR CAPABILITY!! AND BECAUSE ORANGE SHITHEAD WANTED TO PRETEND TO BE A TOUGH GUY, HE WALKED AWAY FROM THE TREATY AND FROM NOW ON IT WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY HARDER FOR THE U.S. TO BROKER SIMILAR DEALS BECAUSE OUR WORD DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING!!! Also, the money Iran got represented their frozen assets - they would never have agreed to the nuke deal without getting that back. That's how adults (even ones you don't like) carry on negotiations, which is something our ruling executive regime clearly doesn't understand.

(And by the way, this is the M.O. for Republican presidents, like Dubya did with the Kyoto Protocols...walking away from deals I mean.)

Also, I hate to break the word to anybody, but Iran was in compliance with the nuke deal. As stated, WE were the ones who bailed on it.

(I’m plenty steamed over this one clip. I guarantee you I NEVER would have made it through the whole debate - and here are more Harris highlights.)...

...and here are all the times the albino Indiana bigot refused to answer direct questions...

...and Rachel Maddow tells us here that, in opposition to their months of bragging about Mango Mussolini’s negative tests for COVID, suddenly they’re clamming up all over the place now on that subject, except to blame Gold Star military families...every time I think that this administration can’t plummet to any further new depth, they find a way to do it...

...and while we’re on the subject, Farron Cousins tells us that the worst may be yet to come for Our Orange Pustule on COVID-19 – I for one want to see him live so he gets his ass beat electorally on November 3rd, along with everyone else in that thoroughly wretched political party of his...

...and John and Yasmin Khan of “The Damage Report” tells us how that mush head Rick Santorum interrupted fellow CNN panelist Gloria Borger to defend Pence against the claim that he didn’t interrupt Harris as much as the panel said that Pence did...truly, you can’t make up this stuff...

...and Thom Hartmann gives us another important history lesson, this time in response to that Repug U.S. Senate clown Mike Lee of Utah, who said something along the lines of not liking democracy, or some such stupidity...

...and today marks what would have been the 80th birthday of John Lennon - here are a couple of his most memorable tunes for the occasion.

Thursday Stuff

OK, as usual, I didn’t watch the vice-presidential debate last night, though I followed along on Twitter with people who did. And yes, it's true that that’s definitely not the same thing as watching it, so I can’t say with authority what did and didn’t happen. Mea maxima culpa.

And, as was the case with the Trump/Biden insanity last week, the reason why is because I already know how I’m going to vote. I had no desire to subject myself to ridiculous lies from Mike Pence for an hour and a half, so I didn’t.

So, for what it’s worth, I went to some of the usual sites that I go to for content, and Cenk and the TYT crew were losing their minds because they thought Kamala Harris was way too timid, and they think Pence won because he drummed home his points more than she did, even though Harris did well in her opening statement (Cenk, John I. and Jayar were exasperated because of all the ways you could go after the regime of the Gropenfuhrer, which Harris apparently chose not to do). They did acknowledge, however, that Harris probably got orders not to rock the boat and try to let Pence come off like the nutjob he is. So, in terms of consolidating their voting gains and not letting independents drift towards Trump/Pence, that may have been a successful strategy...we’ll see (though I get PO’ed too when I see Dems err on the side of caution, I have to admit).

I thoroughly despise Mike Pence of course, but here’s the thing. He rose to prominence on right-wing media including radio and television, so he knows about presentation. He’s a different animal from his boss in that he’s more of a zealot in the service of a thoroughly corrupted cause, which Trump isn’t of course; the only cause Our Orange Pustule cares about is himself. That should be plainly obvious by now to anyone with more than a single-digit IQ. And in fairness to Harris, she had the ridiculous hurdle of trying not to appear too shrill, because, as far as our corporate media is concerned (as well as many of this country’s institutions of business, government, etc.), only women have to worry about being judged as too emotional (while guys generally interrupt with impunity and don’t usually pay a price for it).

So I would ask that you keep this in mind as you watch this clip (and I have to admit that I laughed at Rachel Maddow’s “flaccid” remark – nice to take that gender stereotype and stand it on its metaphorical head...also, Pence's "pinkeye," which can definitely be traced to COVID-19, was yet another reminder to the audience of the failure of this administration on that score)...

Update: Food for thought...

...meanwhile, when it comes to news that actually matters, John I. and Jayar are back in this video to tell us that Generalissimo Trump has said he won't budge on more help for those facing the economic impact from the pandemic (typical for this pouty spoiled toddler of a "president")...

...and I know I shouldn’t put up these Lincoln Project videos, but damn they’re good (yep, vote indeed like your life depends on it, including supporting Dems on this list, as well as here and here for PA folks in Bucks County - oh, and here too of course)...

...and happy upcoming 72nd birthday to Jackson Browne (hopefully COVID free by now).

Wednesday Stuff

Kasie Hunt of “Way Too Early” on MSNBC speaks with Matt Apuzzo of the New York Times, discussing how world leaders are perceiving the U.S. on COVID...yeah, we’re definitely not in lockstep on the messaging for sure...

...and Sam tells us about Our Orange Pustule’s thoroughly disingenuous (and dangerous) photo-op upon returning to the White House from Walter Reed Hospital...

...and yeah, I think this pretty much says it..

...and John and Francesca tell us about the side effects of some of Mango Mussolini’s medications that he’s taking in response to COVID (so he’s taking experimental chimp medicine, and he’s got the nuclear codes – terrific)..

...and in response to the economic misery from the pandemic, Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao plans to do absolutely nothing as Farron Cousins tells us (nope, definitely not this - to do something in response, click here, and to take it out on U.S. Senate Republicans running for office, click here)...

...and for folks in PA-01, to help Christina Finello running against Bri-Fi who’s defending his seat, click here - more info on voting in Bucks County, PA is here (pic has to do with Bri-Fi's sanctimonious behavior during the recent debate)...

...and Robert Reich tells us about the GOP’s attempt to take over the Supreme Court (and I think “Almost Silent” Clarence Thomas and “Strip Search Sammy” Alito gave away a bit of the game here)...

...and yet again, I know these people are yesterday’s and probably tomorrow’s Repugs (who have done their part to lead us onto our current path to be honest), but concerning 11/3, they’re absolutely right...

...and RIP Eddie Van Halen – the misery of 2020 trudges on.

Monday Stuff

I don’t know what Mango Mussolini’s condition truly is, and I’m not even sure his inner circle knows (if it’s bad news, they sure as hell won’t tell us of course). Like many of you I’m sure, I’m concerned first and foremost about who is truly flying this metaphorical airline in case we have a blowup at a trouble spot somewhere. God willing that won’t happen, but if it does, I think we’re going to see a whole bunch of people doing their “Al Haig” impression (like Pompeo, Pence, Barr, and probably a few other of the worst actors of this utterly wretched administration). Our military at a minimum deserves a clear message in that department.

And oh yeah, the moment in the video was utterly unconscionable (and please spare me this typical wingnut BS of “Don’t make a big deal out of it. The Secret Service was exposed when he was airlifted on Marine One." – NOBODY HAD A CHOICE FOR THAT PART!!!).

Oh, and personally, I don’t care if he lives or dies. Though, if he ended up passing on, it might generate sympathy for Mike Pence (who surely would take the top spot on the ticket) which, unfortunately, could garner support for him because he hasn’t been truly vetted as far as I’m concerned (though Wednesday will give us a little more insight into the albino bigot from Indiana). So yeah, I hope Trump lives and gets his electoral clock cleaned on November 3rd...

...and speaking of COVID-19, Farron Cousins tells us about red states getting hit particularly hard before the upcoming election...

...and when it comes to the fools and charlatans of our ruling regime, we should never forget this (h/t to John Fugelsang...NSFW/H)...

...and when it comes to the “party of Lincoln” trying to steal everything from us including our vote, I know I included a brief clip of Dem PA House Rep Malcolm Kenyatta speaking with Rachel Maddow recently, but this Now This clip gets into more detail of what Kenyatta is quite rightly protesting about...some truly scary garbage from the House Republican Caucus, which indeed is acting more like a cult than a body of elected representatives...

Update 10/9/20: YES!

...and OMIGOD, carrying on about Section 8 housing – God, this takes me back to the NE Philly suburbs when I was growing up (Sam and the crew from “The Majority Report” bring us more)...

...and I’m naturally suspicious of evangelicals anyway, but I’m REALLY suspicious of a guy named Creflo Dollar (John and Jayar of The Damage Report tell us more)...

...and I have to admit that I was utterly stunned to hear the news that “No Corporate Tax” Pat Toomey (R-Elevator) plans to retire from public life altogether as noted here; I feel like I should have a month-long “tribute,” but instead, maybe I’ll just settle for this and this (as well as some of the utterly wretched moments captured in this clip...and yes, I know on guns he sponsored that bill with Joe Manchin)...

...and here’s a newer tune that’s a little mellow for a beautiful fall day in these parts.
