Friday Stuff

I thought David Axelrod had some interesting insights into the 2012 election; yes, he leans Dem of course, but he’s a data-driven guy, let’s not forget…

…and Ezra Klein gives us a lesson in political priorities (“White House Tours,” Repugs? Really? Women, children, unemployed, our veterans trying to seek educational assistance – they all don’t count, I guess…full disclosure: we had a tour last year arranged through the office of Sen. Bob Casey…Casey’s people did a great job – you didn’t seriously think I would have asked Mikey the Beloved, did you?)…

…and I’m not sure how I managed to do this, but I somehow neglected the passing of Firesign Theater’s Peter Bergman last year, who left us a year ago tomorrow – here is my belated tribute…

…and happy birthday to Gary Numan (yep, just when you want to stomp it out of existence once and for all, the ‘80s live again).

Thursday Stuff

(I also posted here.)

Yep, you have to go a long way to make people like Larry Kudlow and Rick Santelli at CNBC look intelligent, but leave it to Fix (Business) Noise to do something that is virtually impossible, as Lawrence O’Donnell explains here

…and I don’t have much to speak of on this video, so here it is - a nifty little number I must say.

Wednesday Stuff

Yep, we’re coming up on the anniversary of this too – not sure my words can do justice to the horrors carried out in our name (“Saint” Petraeus – what a joke)…

…to say nothing of the utter stupidity (John F. didn’t mention the two million Iraqi refugees, a mistake committed by a lot of others also, including many who should know better)…

…and this reminds me of better weather – watch yourselves, you crazy kids…

…and RIP Alvin Lee.

Tuesday Stuff

Hst tip to Balloon Juice for this - good for Jay Carney (Will doesn't have to worry about getting dropped from the Bucks County Courier Times, or the WaPo either I'm sure, though that should happen in both places)...

…and I know I touched on this last night, but here is more on Lord Willard Mitt and Lady Romney and their portrayal of how not to act after losing an election – somebody call the WHAAAAA-MBULANCE…

…and speaking of pathetic Republican ingrates, I give you this concerning the governor of our illustrious commonwealth…

…and good luck on your movie break, Jon – we’ll miss you (here – absolutely killer ending to this)…

…and in a similar vein, I give you the genius of Mark Fiore…

…and L.Z. Granderson of CNN reminds us here that, 10 years ago this week, three brave young women told their U.K. audience what they thought of Former President Highest Disapproval Rating In Gallup Poll History – here is a song about what happened afterwards.

Monday Stuff

I thought nothing was funnier than Lewis Black and that bit of his about the two gay guys showing up at your front door and…well, you can search You Tube to see the clip yourself and find out the rest, dear reader – this is still a hoot…

…and yeah, Ed Schultz helps us to keep our eye on the ball, as it were (and I once laughed at Dennis Rodman when he was on Howard Stern, but now, he’s nothing but a pitiable moron)…

…and I mentioned The Eagles last night, and as I read this, I had this song running around in my head – apropos, I think…

…and 50 years ago tomorrow marks the anniversary of the tragic passing of country music legend Patsy Cline – as I often say, you won’t find much genuine country music here, so enjoy it while you can.

Sunday Stuff

I think Rachel Maddow has a bit of a novel idea here, naming political “storms” in the same pattern as meteorological ones; I just hope we have a name for the avalanche these clowns will hopefully face in November 2014 to drive them out of office, though it’s really a stretch to hope that voters remember that far in the future (just remember that, no matter how bad it may be, it is always good news for Republicans)…

…and I really intended this for last night, but I got hung up watching that great Showtime documentary on The Eagles – better late than never, I guess.
