Friday Stuff

Seth Meyers recaps yet another awful week for the “Gropenfuhrer,” though Number 45 was strangely prescient, but not in the way he imagined (anyone who supported Fergus Laing should be made to wear a T-shirt saying “I’m too stoo-pid to be trusted to cast a vote”)…

...and with the drip-drip-drip of incriminating stuff concerning President Big Orange Cheetoh that has turned into a gusher, it’s easy to forget the role played by his veep, and Rachel Maddow commendably reminds us why that’s a mistake…

…and of all of the bad things that Generalissimo Trump has done, I would say that reminding anyone with a pulse about the oozing meat sack of human sanctimony that is Joe Lieberman once more rates pretty highly on the list (here)…

…and I think we should all be recognized for the product of our efforts, though in the case of departed former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, that’s about as damning an indictment as you can get, as Chris Hayes reminds us…

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

…and potty-mouth Kyle puts wage theft of minimum-wage workers in this country in the truly awful context it deserves (NSFW)…

…and like many of you I’m sure, I’m still mourning the loss of Chris Cornell – here is a great cover tune he sang on a Jimi Hendrix tribute album from some years back.

Thursday Stuff

You would think that Kevin McCarthy would have learned to keep his mouth shut after this, but luckily for us, he didn’t…

…and Dem U.S. House Rep Al Green of Texas “went there” on impeachment of Generalissimo Trump (I understand Kyle’s point about the other issues – and I don’t give a crap what Jimmy Dore would do – but the issue of Trump and Russia is momentous enough to require the treatment on display here by Rep. Green…NSFW)…

…and the “Gropenfuhrer”’s Education Secretary is plunging full speed ahead in her campaign to dismantle public education in this country – luckily, that won’t be personally affecting us for much longer, though we still intend to fight this cabal of idiots and crooks on this issue and all others anyway…

…and Dem VA Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Perriello has always impressed me going back to his days in the U.S. House, and I think he’s spot-on again here…

…and there’s so much to memorialize upon the passing of former Fix News propagandist-in-chief Roger Ailes, but K.O. gives us a single appropriate remembrance here – I’m sure other videos appearing in “tribute” will appear, and I’ll watch for them too (more here)…

…and RIP Chris Cornell – please find a way to reach out somehow if you think you need help, people.

Wednesday Stuff

Anybody besides me in the mood for a flash back (from 44 years ago today, courtesy of John Chancellor and the NBC Nightly News)...

…and yeah, I would say we’re in “I” word territory also…

…and David Pakman digs a little deeper into the “Comey memo” where Generalissimo Trump told him to drop the Russia investigation (yep, imprisoning reporters is the stuff of two-bit dictators, which is what the “Gropenfurer” is when all is said and done, let’s not forget…and no, I realize Obama wasn’t innocent totally on this either, though he did make up for that somewhat by commuting Chelsea Manning's sentence)…

…and regarding President Tiny-Handed Clueless Egomaniac, I guess you could say that it’s all fun and games until somebody volunteers to remove offending signage from an apartment building by paying for it out of his own pocket…

…and I am sooo glad somebody FINALLY called out this scumbag Frelinghuysen in New Jersey for this (nice job by Kyle K. – NSFW…”Democrat” political organizations, huh? I’m REALLY going to have fun watching this scumbag lose next year…and I agree with Kyle on his reverse example – wrong regardless of your politics)…

…and I’m going to let you in on a supposedly grand musical plan I had for this year that I totally f’d up – this being the 50th anniversary of perhaps the greatest year in popular music (well, for boomers anyway), I had intended to put up certain tunes from that year based on the date they were released…well, as I said, I blew it on at least one date this year, so now I plan to do that in a totally un-chronological order, kind of how I happen to recall them instead – here is the first one from “Surrealistic Pillow” by the Jefferson Airplane.

Tuesday Stuff

(And in response to the Lyin’ Ryan pic, I think The Rude One said it best here...Fergus Laing should be in manacles and dragged kicking and screaming from An Oval Office at this point...oh, and, by the way...)

…and as Rachel Maddow reports, I didn’t know there was some kind of a Saudi connection to Putin and Trump, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised (and by the way, I don’t feel “afraid” about this, though, like you I’m sure, I’m genuinely pissed off)…

…and yeah, karma sure is a bitch, isn’t it, President Tiny-Handed Impulse-Control-Issue-Child Egomaniac?...

...and hey everybody, Trump was cleared of any financial ties to Russia - by a RUSSIAN ACCOUNTING FIRM!!! (ROFLMAO - here)...

…and the “Gropenfuhrer” is on the hook for so many obstruction of justice charges at this point that it’s truly hard to count them all, though, to his credit, K.O. attempts to corral some of that here…

…and with all of this stuff going on, I’ve had this song in my head a bit, so here it is.

Monday Stuff

Good for Joy Reid for spotlighting the ongoing battle here against voter suppression and the effort to secure the vote for people of color and traditional Democratic constituencies (having Ari Berman and Greg Palast on this panel among others tells you that this is a serious discussion)…

…and yeah, I would tend to agree with what Fareed Zakaria says here, but I think we’re a little past the point of flowery, well-worded and well-stated arguments; at a minimum, Generalissimo Trump needs to be impeached, convicted, and removed from office, and you’re either part of that process or you aren’t

…and speaking of protest (were we?), kudos to this man for cornering this Repug U.S. House life form named Tom MacArthur over Trump-scam-care…

…and with the prior clip in mind, it’s time once more for “This Day In Doomsy History” (more or less) from 5/17/11, in which the late Arlen Specter and others are cornered by the Teahadists at town hall events in 2010, in supposedly “spontaneous” town hall outbursts that were orchestrated by “astroturf” outfits, and how, in response, when the Repugs got a taste of their own proverbial medicine, our corporate media paid almost no notice then as now…the Repugs are going to keep coming back with this garbage over and over until they’re voted out of office…

…and this may be the lowest of the low-hanging fruit, but it looks like BIllo is crying to Glenn Beck about George Soros – how the mighty have fallen indeed (if my employer had to pay out $13 million to settle sexual harassment claims against me, not only would I be fired, but I’d be prosecuted also, which I would deserve – NSFW)…

…and I’m pretty sure he’s coming to the W.F. Center with Bonnie Raitt on July 9th – have to put this up for the month and also to remind me that summer is around the corner, at long last.

Sunday Stuff

(Yeah, I'm definitely being "tongue-in-cheek" with this pic - some real muthas I would guess)...

Seth Meyers recounts the latest horrific week with the “Gropenfuhrer” here

…and with the prior clip in mind, kudos to Clinton Watts for this…

…and leave it to the Trumps to be too dumb to keep their mouths shut on Russia (another reason why I pretty much hate golf)…

...and Happy Mother's Day (always hesitated about this one, but not this year - a song notable because, if for no other reason, the funniest math professor of all time finds a way to rhyme “duck-billed platypus”).
