Tuesday Stuff (updates)

Caleb Cunningham and Farron Cousins let us know that an election denier from our beloved commonwealth will head Trump’s “election security” team of course (someone named Heather Honey – sounds like a p*rn star)...yep, as Cunningham says, #47 is getting ready to pre-emptively claim “election fraud” along with the gerrymandering and other BS games the “R” party is trying to pull for next year...good point about Mike Lindell going to the mat for the Gropenfuhrer and getting tossed aside as usual for people sucked into Trump’s orbit...”this is only going to get worse as they get more desperate” indeed...

...and David Shuster of Rebel HQ brings us the sorry tale of Our Ochre Abomination declaring war on Chicago because I guess he needs something to do, with our economy doing so well that he doesn’t need to pay any attention (#sarcasm)...yeah, the movie poster is about par for the course from this sorry lot of frauds and neophytes...didn’t know about the anti-ICE protests over the weekend – great job to stay strong...and yeah, it looks like Don the Con is continuing to tank our economy with raiding a Hyundai manufacturing facility...and speaking of the effects of wind (were we?), it looks like that thing on top of Pumpkin Pol Pot’s head is taking on a life of its own)...and yep, 22K jobs added in August – with a number that bad, it might as well be 0 (and I wonder if #47 will fire the person responsible for communicating that awful info as he did last time?)... and given that polling number, after this experience, I don’t think I want anything to do with a registered Republican for the rest of my days...

...and with the prior clip in mind, I now give you the latest installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” from 9/9/19, in which Dem U.S. House Rep Ro Khanna speaks with someone named Steve Hilton on Fix Noise about an approach to delivering skilled jobs across this country including rural communities and what we need to do to make that happen in terms of a public sector/private sector partnership (and as Khanna notes, he mentioned this to Wonder Boy Jared Kushner since this was during the first failed era for Cheetoh Hitler, but it obviously didn’t go anywhere – Kyle Kulinski leads the segment...it indeed sounds like a “tech New Deal,” which works for me, and I would also punish employers offshoring jobs within this framework...good job by Kyle to keep this segment "G" rated)...

...and John and Sharon Reed of The Damage Report bring us the news of Demetre Daskalakis of the CDC resigning given the havoc created by “Bobby Brainworms,” but look... Daskalakis is GAY (from this Buddy Carter wingnut along with Rand “Fake Ophthalmologist” Paul...I’d forgotten about Jr. “inadvertently” groping a woman; if we lived in a normal timeline, that by itself would likely have been disqualifying for the Kennedy scion...didn’t know red states were hit disproportionately harder than blue states when it comes to CDC funding cuts, but yeah, that sure figures also)...

...and Seth Meyers gives us “A Closer Look” with our ruling regime threatening to send troops to Chicago (this is a little behind the news cycle I’ll admit, but I still wanted to get to it)...sounds like more distractions by wanting to go to war with Venezuela AND “The Windy City”...and I’ll bet that even a 90-year-old hippie could kick Baby Goebbels’s sorry butt...and though what necessitated the Epstein files is terrible (the awful abuse of these young girls), watching our “big, strong, and not ‘woke’” *preznit trying to backpedal is indeed justice of a sort (not what is called for of course, which is serious prison time, especially in light of this, and sending Ghislaine Maxwell back to the big house for real; I’m only commenting on the political blowback)...and I can’t believe that Marjorie Train Wreck Greene is actually doing the right thing here, but I have to admit that she is (maybe for crass political reasons, but I have to point that out)...

...and RIP Mark Volman, who partnered with Howard Kaylan on The Turtles and Flo and Eddie...

...and with that, I now take my leave of you for a few days for some much-needed R&R. I’ll plan to get this going again sometime next week.

Update 1 9/10/25: It should go without saying that this is absolutely terrible, and I’ve said that there’s never an excuse for violence (I’ve only ever made an exception for bin Laden – maybe I was wrong, but I’m standing by that). Charlie Kirk represented absolutely nothing that I ever believed in, but this is still an awful tragedy that never should have happened. However, I’m already hearing about “Democrats and ‘woke’ liberals” being blamed, which is about what you can expect from the “shoot first and aim later” crowd.

I’m sure we’ll be treated to more escalated rhetoric and behavior over this (I’d love to be wrong). More’s the pity.
And by the way, let’s not forget about this (and this is typical).

Update 2: What Markos sez here.

Monday Stuff

Katy Tur speaks with former Dem U.S. Senator (and farmer) Jon Tester about the havoc wrought by Combover Caligula’s tariffs and how that has affected the ability of farmers to control their own costs for equipment and capital generally along with trying to sell their goods in markets that are closing because their products are too expensive for buyers mainly in the Pacific Rim, as Tester explains...as we know, Cheetoh Hitler is apparently the only human being on earth who doesn’t believe that a tariff is a tax on the American consumer/producer (a related item is here)...

...and Chris Hayes discusses the story of Pumpkin Pol Pot attacking a Venezuelan speedboat and killing 11 people, and in international waters no less...oh, but we said they are all Tren De Aragua, so it’s ok, as if these people would tell us the truth if they even knew what it was...and how Trumpian to try and come up with a legal authority for this AFTER they’d already carried this out (speaking with Spencer Ackerman)...and leave it to “little Marco” to act like a puppet for Our Treasonous Orange Pustule on this (and I’m also sure there will be more of this - love to be wrong)...good for Ackerman to draw a line from this to Dubya’s Global War On TERRA! TERRA! TERRA!...I would complain about another weird cut at the end of an MSNBC video if complaining about it would do any good...

...and Belle of the Ranch discusses Bronzer Beelzebub trying to push out Lisa Cook of the Fed over “mortgage fraud”...they should just get a clip of “Couch Boy” recently trashing Cook in an interview as evidence that Vance prejudiced any possible trial with his remarks...the open letter from Nobel laureate economists pointing out Mango Mussolini’s typical stoo-pidity should help Cook also, especially since they already knew her mortgage history when she was first confirmed...by the way, the “Chesterton Fence” comment pertains to something that may appear nonsensical at first, though there is hidden wisdom as we discover, in this case I believe Belle is talking about the Fed’s independence from partisan politics (and yeah, these idiots in charge need to pay particular attention to the bond market)...

...and Farron Cousins tells us that it looks like Newsmax is suing Fix Noise because the former says the latter is making sure it isn’t carried on certain TV markets...filthy, unkempt liberal blogger that I am, I have to admit that I’m not close enough to the real or imagined numbers here to know if Newsmax actually has a case (I suspect they don’t), though I will say that a big part of Fix Noise’s business model is its deals with the cable telco providers...even though it’s laudable IMO to boycott advertisers on The Roger Ailes BS Factory, that’s not really hitting that trash network where they live, and if Newsmax actually has a case here, they could do damage...boy, is Cousins ever right about so-called “regular TV” and what you can do to generate your own buzz; would that those clueless losers running the @DNC knew that (though I’ll admit that the jury is still out on Ken Martin IMO)...if nothing else, this should be an enjoyable “food fight” between the two biggest TV propaganda networks in this country (pass the popcorn)...

...and Stephen Colbert on the Late Show gives us his take on “Bobby Brainworms” and that ridiculous hearing he was involved in recently (nice try by Dem Ron Wyden of Oregon to try and get the Kennedy scion sworn in)...oh, and CVS and Walgreen’s apparently aren’t going to offer COVID vaccines thanks to our maniac in charge of HHS (love the “Star Wars” sendup btw)...and John Barrasso is another one of these characters who checked out long ago when it came to ensuring the health and safety of his constituents as far as I’m concerned...oh, and Jr. can see “mitochondrial” infection in an airport without a microscope? That’s almost as absurd as “Dr.” Ladapo in Flori-DUUUH! asking “Who am I?” when it comes to recommending what people can do to stay healthy...and oh yeah, it looks like “Don Quixote” Trump is tilting at windmills again, you might say (does that make “Couch Boy” Sancho Panza I wonder?)...

...and I now give you one of the all-time, dewy-eyed, pointy-headed lib tunes in existence, but I think it fits when considering the Arkansas farmers in the Daily Kos post that I linked to above.
