Friday Stuff

(I also posted here.)

I tried this last night, but ran into technical difficulties, so I’ll try it again – while it’s great that the whole “Chained CPI” and Social Security thing is apparently off the table (here), what does it tell you that it ever was “on the table” to begin with (former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich explains – again, Google Chrome has been acting up on YouTube vids for yours truly…may have to try some techie stuff to fix – oh joy)…

…and Jon Stewart tells us about the latest in wingnuttia from the “What’s The Matter With...” state (here – and nice one to include Mika and The Loudmouth)…

…and gosh, isn’t Vladimir Putin such a big, strong man, making sure that four women “armed” only with guitars and ski masks, to say nothing of journalists trying to do their jobs, are beaten repeatedly by uniformed thugs (a regime also responsible for this, let’s not forget…I think Lawrence O’Donnell is a bit too sympathetic to Edward Snowden, but I also think he’s fundamentally right)…

...and here's a danceable little number that the kids seem to like - a nice Friday choice I believe.

Thursday Stuff

Update 2/21/14: Something is up with Google Chrome and YouTube videos - haven't gotten the lowdown on it yet...

Weren’t we actually praising the CBO and Doug Elmendorf a few days ago on health care reform and its projected impact on jobs (here)?...

...and Rev. Al gives us a rather sickening primer on how we ended up with “Stand Your Ground” so-called laws, starting in the land of Lex Luthor Scott (I have to admit that I’m a bit confused by that bar graph – I assume it applies only to Florida, though I would guess that the trends are nationwide)…

...and yes, I thought he was gone from my electronic world, as it were, for good - ugh...

…and as far as I’m concerned, the title of this song is completely apropos for the foul, fetid Bushco reign.

Wednesday Stuff

Nice lungs you got there - I'd be a real shame if anything happened to them...

…and good for Lawrence O’Donnell for giving Priorities USA the treatment they deserve (here)…

…and another day, another white person who apparently felt threatened by the “thug” behavior of a person of another skin color which, of course, led to the shooting of said “thug” by that white person (here)…

…and I guess you can chalk this up to “Doomsy, heal thyself” from this wretched winter and various other circumstances.

Tuesday Stuff

Ed Schultz tells us what happened with the UAW vote at the Chattanooga, TN VW plant...

Update 2/19/14: This is interesting and a bit hopeful, though (Update 2/21/14: As is this).

…and here is more on the Repugs and their immigration “outreach” with Cenk and The Young Turks (captions are a little better this time)…

…and I should let you know that, besides Allyson Schwartz, there’s another Dem running to be the party’s gubernatorial nominee against (presumably) Tom Corbett in the fall; I don’t know much about this guy except what you see here, but he interests me (what matters is that the best Dem wins the primary, whoever that may be)…

…and RIP Bob Casale of Devo.

Monday Stuff

Happy Fifth Anniversary to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (with the predictable nonsense in response here)...

…and God, Marsha Blackburn is such a dunce (here) – I don’t want to imagine the stupidity of the people who actually vote for her…

…and here is more important stuff from Robert Reich about who is keeping their thumbs on the metaphorical scales, as it were, when it comes to the economy…

…and Chris Hayes and his guests name two of the worst presidents of all time…

…but don’t worry, Dubya is on the list here, along with Andrew Jackson…

…and I’m sorry, but this story must be a goof; has anyone checked the Republican Congressional Caucus?
