Friday Stuff

Gee, I guess the Gropenfuhrer thought he wasn’t going to get the ratings he wanted for his North Korea reality TV show episode, so he had a hissy fit, picked up his toys and went home (I have to admit that I’m getting a little tired at this point of people like Andrew Ross Sorkin acting polite in the face of this craziness, including this)…

…and yeah, nothing to see here, just the sitting President of the U.S. trying to subvert the investigation of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, as David Kris, former assistant attorney general for national security, tells us (yeah, Emmet Flood, Trump’s lawyer, was just there to “facilitate”…yeah, that’s the ticket)…

…all of which puts an exclamation point, as far as I’m concerned, on this recent “New Rule” from Bill Maher…

…oh, and let’s shed a tear for the poor deluded saps who pissed away their vote for our Treasonous, Tiny-Handed, Impulse-Control-Issue Orange Dictator (sorry, but I’m all out of compassion for these jokers)…

…however, as Mike Malloy tells us, Number 45 has no shortage of compassion for workers…in China (very NSFW, though I think Malloy is absolutely right…an update is here)…

…and I thought this was a nice new tune from a longtime singer who, I’m sure, has weathered a few travails but has still managed to do good work.

Thursday Stuff

I give you another less-than-shining moment from Sarah Huckabilly Sanders, as Farron Cousins explains…

…which I guess isn’t surprising given that her boss has only a 13 percent honesty and trustworthiness rating, as Kyle K. points out (almost not NSFW, but then it was)…

…and in connection with Generalissimo Trump, Rachel Maddow gives us a lesson on Russian attempts to interfere in our elections; I think these historical segments are fascinating (by the way, if you thought Adlai Stevenson was nothing but a milquetoast, watch the great movie “13 Days” to get an appreciation for his UN performance during the Cuban Missile Crisis)…

…and Chris Hayes points out yet again what an utter scam the whole “tax cuts creates jobs” nonsense truly is…

…and apparently the NRA is now promoting the “School Shield Program” in response to the Santa Fe shooting, and yeah, it’s about as pathetic as you can imagine, as Sam Seder explains…

…and I had a more current musical selection in mind, but gosh darn it, the weather is just too nice in these parts not to hear this song.

Tuesday Stuff

(Pic is related to this item, by the way – take a guess how fast this self-entitled individual would have been pinned to the ground and/or carted off to God knows where if she had been anyone else but the favored child of white privilege.)

Amy Goodman of Democracy Now talks about the murdering coward of a shooter, this time in Santa Fe, TX of course, who apparently was turned down by a girl he later (allegedly) shot to death (Goodman talks with Soraya Chemaly and Murtaza Hussain)…

…also, Cenk tells us here that (surprise!) Pete Hegseth of Fix Noise doesn’t care about innocent kids getting killed (re, Palestinian protests against the Trumpsters moving our embassy to Jerusalem)…

…and yes, wage theft is still very much of a problem in this country…

…and Farron Cousins of “Ring of Fire” talks about Trump using an unsecure phone (uh, yep –as usual, a Repug looks in the mirror and sees everyone’s reflection but their own)…

…also, Seth Meyers brings us the latest, including the Gropenfuhrer’s “demand” (oh yes, what a clever, dastardly plot by Obama to plant someone in the Trump campaign to make sure Hillary lost…of all of the Trumpsters going to jail, Uday Jr. should go first – I give Meyers credit for still being able to mine humor out of this utterly ridiculous and dangerous mess)…

…and as noted here, today is the 60th anniversary of the day that Jerry Lee Lewis admitted that he had an under-age bride and subsequently wrecked his career – I can’t think of too many of the folks from the Sun Records days who are still with us; kudos to “The Killer” for longevity if nothing else (tune ends at about 1:55).

Monday Stuff

Despite the fact that the Morning Jo(ke) gang are interviewing former DOJ prosecutor Sally Yates as well as Michelle Nunn, I just can’t help but feel that they’re looking for ways to legitimize our Tiny-Handed, Impulse-Control-Issue, Dictatorial Child-in-Chief (and I love the way Mika manages to report this typically crazy nonsense with the Gropenfuhrer and Amazon with a straight face)…

…and here’s how our friends to the north are reporting this lunacy…

…turning back to the recent Santa Fe shooting, Chris Hayes talks with CT Dem governor Dannel Malloy (heartening a bit to see what’s been happening on the state level, but federal legislation is what matters, and good luck with that absent putting the Dems back in charge of Congress)…

…and Kyle K. tells us about the Repug candidate proposing euthanasia for disabled people (yeah, typically crazy – NSFW)…

…and given all this, it looks like the “party of Lincoln” is having a problem trying to find a city that will host its 2020 presidential convention – surprised? (NSFW also)...

…and here’s another seasonal selection for this time of year.
