Richard Harris (the actor, primarily) would have been 76 today, and for me it's impossible to consider him and not recall this song, truly one of the kitschiest (word?) exercises in musical vanity for a '60s celebrity (putting aside that song Leonard Nimoy sang about Bilbo Baggins and anything by Shatner, of course). The funny thing is that, not considering the somewhat trippy lyrics, this is actually a nice song (kind of overwrought also, of course).
I'm putting this up primarily for the nice visuals, which don't coincide with anything (this is "Mac Arthur Park," and please let me know if you know someone who has actually left a cake out in the rain, OK?).
