Stiff Wind In A House Of Cards

The Bucks County Courier Times led off its business section today with the headline, "Jobless claims down sharply," and the accompanying AP story references some institution called the "Conference Board" based in New York that came up with the related statistics, but as the story also mentions, "many analysts believe the expansion has begun slowing from last year's torrid pace in response to Federal Reserve hikes in U.S. interest rates."

Gee, sounds like, to me, we're still hoping and praying that the housing "bubble" doesn't burst from raising interest rates too much too soon. Also, now that China is off the dollar, we are definitely going to feel some pain in the way of paying more for their generally crappy products (though that SHOULD help us compete and save some jobs - we'll see).
