Monday Stuff

(I also posted here.)

I know this clip has “made the rounds” by now, but I think these observations from Aussie journo Chris Uhlmann need to be seen and heard far and wide, and it doesn’t make me happy one bit to do it (here...and anyone who is still dumb enough to think that this ISN'T playing out exactly how Putin wants should pay attention to the Russian's smirk at about 2:02)…

...sentiments echoed, sadly but accurately, by Carrie Cordero, legal expert on national and homeland security...

...and I would say that "it's hard to ignore the pattern" also...

…and oh yeah, we’re the only country of the G20 that refuses to acknowledge that WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE, GODDAMMIT!!! (more here - and as always, Generalissimo Trump continues to behave as if this were all nothing more than a damn “reality” TV show)...

...and speaking of climate, don't look now, but a damn iceberg as big as Delaware has broken loose from Antarctica...

…and a happy belated 90th birthday to Doc Severinsen, legendary trumpeter and years-long bandleader of the NBC Orchestra for “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson”; on the last show, Severinsen was gushing in his praise for Carson, which is understandable I know, mainly because, as Severinsen put it basically, this would be the last TV show featuring what was in effect a jazz band orchestra, marking an era passing into antiquity, and sadly, he was right.
