Thursday Stuff

This TYT clip with Cenk and Ana tells us how Mark Meadows is flipping off people in need of relief from the COVID-19 economic downturn...and yeah, I totally get their point about the Dems not pushing back the way they should against Republican BS, and I understand that Biden is spending too much time “fishing where there is no fish,” as Sam Seder recently opined, but would it kill either of you (metaphorically of course) to point out that the Dem U.S. House PASSED THE FREAKING HEROES ACT IN MAY AND IT’S STUCK ON THE DESK OF GRIM REAPER MCCONNELL???!!

(I know I had that clip with Farron Cousins and Alex Kotch yesterday about Opt Out News, and God, I wish the Dem “brain trust” would reach out to them to get the news out about the good stuff the “D” party does so we could all read from the same goddamn script for a change. No, that doesn’t mean anybody should be a rubber stamp for ANY political party, but just start providing some damn context, that’s all!)...

...and with the prior clip in mind, I give you the latest installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” (more or less) from 9/5/13, in which we are reminded of how the “pay no price, bear no burden” one percent crowd made out in the 2008 economic near-collapse (and yeah, past sure is prologue, isn’t it? More on the Institute for Policy Studies is here)...

...and speaking of the pandemic, Thom H. (in a pretty abbreviated clip) tells us how our ruling regime of frauds and incompetent bungling idiots is applying what you could call the Bobby McFerrin strategy (“don’t worry, be happy”) when discussing COVID to the media in this country on one hand, but telling the “true believers” that, yeah, this is a bigger mess than we ever imagined – sync is off again...

...oh, but there IS something Mango Mussolini is good at, unfortunately, and this video tells us all about it...

...and there are all kinds of reasons to utterly despise Generalissimo Trump’s fixer Bill Barr, but this video presents one that is very important (it's not just police shooting African Americans, though that's bad enough, but the issue is police killing them in whatever manner...and let's not forget this too)...

...and this fine Lincoln Project ad (and yes, I know these people are yesterday’s and probably tomorrow’s Republicans) is probably more apropos for Veterans Day, but it’s never a bad time to give our military the credit it deserves of course...

Update: I would say that this speaks volumes.

Update 9/11/20: As does this.

...and RIP legendary New York Mets pitcher Tom Seaver (here); man, did he ever own the Phillies in his day, but he owned a lot of other teams too...just because he wore the uni of the opposition doesn’t mean that his epic performances can’t be appreciated...oh, and let’s not forget this courageous moment also...

...and I now leave you with a tune from someone whose legend is also completely entwined with The Big Apple – this may be the end of my summer selections, though I could have one or two more...I’m shutting down for a few days and I hope to get this started again sometime next week.
