A Moment From The Debate Last Night

I'm not exactly sure why "the natives were restless" when John Edwards merely pointed out an inconsistency between what Senator Clinton said on two different occasions about the same issue, but I have a pretty good idea why Wolf "So Poor And So Black" (remember that one?) Blitzer was trying to hurry up Edwards and not let him finish what he was trying to say.

Anyway, I thought you'd like to take a look (and to help, click here).

as i commented on your comment back at my place, "i can deal with all of that and not break a sweat if edwards would just, please, start addressing the constitutional crisis..."

no news to you, but i believe that issue to be the most serious issue our country has ever faced, and i can't, for the life of me, understand why it's not first on every candidate's list... it's the umbrella under which everything else falls... dodd touches on it, kucinich touches on it, and paul touches on it, but none of the first tier are giving it the time of day... from glenn greenwald, to bruce fein, to paul craig roberts, to naomi wolf, to jim hightower, people are screaming about it and if edwards added that issue to his formidable populist, grassroots message, i would be writing a check to the edwards campaign at this very moment...

This came from a thread on the LV debate last night from MissLaura at The Daily Kos (I’d include the link, but Blogger is crappy with that – one of these days I’ll just get Haloscan)…

A man named Khalid Khan is worried about racial profiling. He wants to know what will be done to protect Americans from such harassment in airports and so on.

EDWARDS: He's right. This administration has done more than abuse the PATRIOT Act, which must be changed. Also stop illegal spying, close Guantanamo, outrageous that there's a discussion over what kind of torture will be tolerated. Under an Edwards presidency, none will be tolerated.

Wolfie: Kucinich only person on stage who voted against PATRIOT Act.

KUCINICH: That's because I read it. The questioner is owed an apology. Aiming at Edwards' position changes since he was in the Senate. "Just imagine what it will be like to have a president who's right the first time."

At least Edwards would have known enough to vote for SCHIP, you little creep (sorry, but as far as Kucinich is concerned, it’s “right message, wrong messenger” for me).

Yes, what you’re saying needs to be emphasized over and over and over and over, and that’s part of what I was saying awhile back when I posted about Edwards needing “an Act II.” Hopefully we’ll see it before the caucuses. If not, then it may not matter.
