...and speaking of money matters, this New York Times clip tells us about people in our government who actually were saving us some dough, that is, before Elmo fired them...I wish I could take issue with the utterly dark assessment of the inspectors general at about 8:50, but I really can’t...



...and John of The Damage Report brings us a clip of Pete Buttigieg describing the coming fight over the budget in the House (which those gutless frauds voted for again yesterday, including Bri-Fi, with the head-scratching exception of Thomas Massie – and yeah, the beyond-useless Jared Golden on our side voted for it also)...Jim McGovern also reminds us of all the times the “party of Lincoln” voted to extend those stinking tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy at everyone else’s expense...and John is definitely right about getting big money out of politics, mainly for the “R” team but also for too many on the “D” team as well (more here)...



...and David Doel tells us about Mark Carney “throwing down,” you might say (and politely of course), in a speech after winning the vote of Canada’s liberal party for Prime Minister...maybe Carney is a bit strident, but I’m OK with it since he’s correct that his nation didn’t start this ridiculous trade gamesmanship (though I appreciate David Doel’s clarification)...I don’t know enough about Canadian politics to be able to say anything about Pierre Poilievre, but I’m inclined to give Doel the benefit of the doubt here...and just imagine a Dem in this country giving a speech and using the phrase “we know as liberals”; corporate media heads would probably spontaneously combust like in that movie “Scanners” (a Canadian film, appropriately enough...you can Google it)...and yeah, Poilievre is “Maple MAGA” for sure; good one...

...and Farron Cousins brings us the reality perspective on those damn tariffs with Canada and Mexico...I know you’ll be shocked to hear that #47's supposed rationale here doesn’t make any damn sense, partly because Mexico is stepping up their efforts when it comes to drugs coming into this country (and that basically isn’t an issue at all when it comes to Canada)...and only Mango Mussolini believes that tariffs can actually encourage a return of jobs to our shores; would that that were true – we would also need substantial investment from the feds when it comes to infrastructure, and we’ve been kicking that can down the road for way too damn long, though Biden did put us on a good path for that (something else he got no credit for in the election last year)...



...and Emma Vigeland of The Majority Report tells us about Dem U.S. House Rep Ayanna Pressley standing up to that fool James Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee...sounds like Comer called a hearing for big city mayors to try and make these people look bad for performing their jobs in a way that was contrary to the madness of Our Treasonous Orange Pustule, who wants to round up as many immigrants as possible (of course, all of the mayors called to testify were Dems)...yeah, as stated, if Comer would just shut the hell up and let Pressley introduce her articles into the record, then Comer wouldn’t have created the “gotcha” media moment...and yeah, also as stated, the “R” party wants to create similar moments to get on Fix Noise, so who’s kidding who here exactly? (kind of a metaphor for the DOGE garbage from King Elon as far as yours truly is concerned)...



...and Belle lets us know that “the math isn’t mathing” for these numbskulls belonging to the “party of Lincoln” who say, “How dare you accuse us of trying to cut Medicare/Medicaid and children’s health insurance, you dastardly libs!” (and that includes @RepBrianFitz)...the CBO (people who actually know this stuff) say that at least 10 percent of these programs will have to be cut to pay for the stinking tax cuts that the Repugs want to get passed to reward the “pay no price, bear no burden” bunch once more...



...and Mike Figueredo of The Humanist Report tells us about an Ohio Trumper writing a racist message on a restaurant receipt aimed at her server, and the whole mess quite rightly blows up in her self-entitled face...and as Mike Figueredo points out, in Ohio, they pay a sub-minimum wage for tipped workers, so, by not tipping the server, this “Karen” literally took money out of the server’s paycheck...John Oliver recently had a really good segment on tipped workers and how ridiculous it is that the so-called “tipped wage,” which is often sub-minimum, varies from state to state (i.e., in Minnesota, tipped workers must be paid the full minimum wage even if taking tips, whereas in Wisconsin, the so-called sub-minimum “tipped” wage is about $2.13 an hour, believe it or not)...and I’m not the least bit surprised that the life forms rejoicing in the misery of this young man whose mom was deported all have blue check marks, which means they posted their garbage on Nazi Twitter, which is yet another reason to have nothing to do with that trash fire of a social media platform (more of Elon’s “rapid, unscheduled disassembly”)...kudos to the community for rallying in support of “Ricardo” and the restaurant (NSFW/H)...

...and speaking of the antics of Not Your Father’s Republican Party, Kyle Kulinski tells us that NRCC head Richard Hudson has told his party’s political lickspittles not to hold town halls any more...of course, as noted, Bri-Fi doesn’t hold them anyway because he’s a coward...and Kyle is indeed correct about keeping up the pressure on these frauds, and the Dems should respond WITH POLICY PROPOSALS THAT MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THEY REPRESENT THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY, such as utterly destroying DOGE and trying to make government right as it was prior to Elon taking up space in An Oval Office (which will probably take years at this point), legislation overturning Citizens United once and for all, codifying Roe v. Wade through legislation also, passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act (more on Lewis a bit later), reinforcing the CHIPS Act (which Bronzer Beelzebub is trying to destroy), reinstituting the CFPB, strengthening Social Security, and on and on...and I agree with Kyle about Schumer and Jeffries (speaking of frauds...and since yours truly resides in the commonwealth of PA, I wonder if Summer Lee in PA-12 could make time to hold an event in PA-01 since @RepBrianFitz is allergic to in-person meetings? ...and I suppose attention must be paid to the “Not SOTU” last night from Our Demented Orange Toddler of a *president (ugh)...”fix prices on day one, including eggs, which Biden is responsible for, not me”...God almighty, how pathetic! And oh yeah, the “unelected bureaucrats” who keep us all safe – the ones King Elon is kicking to the curb, as noted in the prior clip...”lots of things with the Panama Canal and a couple of other canals”...anybody have an idea what planet this guy lives on? And yeah, I have a feeling “little Marco” is wondering why the hell he gave up his job in the U.S. Senate for this utter clusterf*ck of a *presidential “administration” based on that look at about 4:49...and yeah, promoting that little boy suffering from cancer who commendably wanted to be a cop while cutting funding for pediatric cancer research is par for the course with these cretins (more fact checking and context is here and here, including the “transgender mice” idiocy here...and Trumpette Alina Habba apparently said that our vets aren’t good enough for jobs here; I would speculate on the type of “job” Habba is good at, but I’d like to keep this content PG-rated, if you will)...

Farron Cousins informs us here that about 40% of King Elon’s DOGE cuts won’t actually save any $$ since the funds have already been paid...”just say ‘oops’ and get out,” you numbskulls...and when you’re talking about the federal budget, $4-5 billion doesn’t even count as small change...



...and apparently the Gropenfuhrer is going to give a Not-Really-State-Of-The-Union-But-Yeah-Let’s-Pretend-It-Is address tonight, and Jesse Dollemore discusses putting pressure on Dems to stand up against fascism in response...and there aren’t too many in our establishment media I would take seriously at this point, but Jamelle Bouie is one of them...not that it matters one bit I realize, but here is what I’d do; I would have said publicly in advance that King Elon I should reinstate the employees he fired as a result of his DOGE purge and I would also say to Trump that DOGE needs to go completely, and if not, no Dems will not attend, which guarantees that Dems won’t attend because there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of our ruling cabal of treasonous demagogues actually backing down... actually, I think Ron Wyden is the only Dem handling this the right way as noted here...



...and oh look, another Repug is running and hiding from constituents, as Brian Tyler Cohen tells us, and this time it’s U.S. Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas, who decides to cut and run when asked a question about veterans’ benefits...yeah, all of those protesting at town halls are Dem ‘”crisis actors”; uh huh... just keep telling yourself that and watch what happens in the next election...and of course, since we’re talking about Repug wingnuttery, it’s almost a legal requirement to include Marjorie Trailer Park Greene (who, by the way, is also an employee of the federal government...what a moron)...and great job by MSNBC - I guess it was them - to include that clip of the fired federal employees...and yeah, the “Free Beacon” is such an objective news source...yeah – tell me when the spaceship lands, OK? ...and to point out just how crazy the “party of Lincoln” has become, David Pakman gives us some clips of Repugs refusing to admit that Russia invaded Ukraine...not just Trump SecDef Pete Hegseth, but this Mike Waltz character and of course Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma (I’m surprised Mullin didn’t take his coat off and threaten Kristen Welker, since that seems to be par for the course with him)...and I think Pakman is spot-on in saying that the wingnuts can’t say Russia started it because, if they did, then all of the Repug posturing over the war doesn’t make any sense (and it doesn’t anyway of course, but I’m talking here about spin and perception from the “R” team, not verifiable truth and reality...oh, and speaking of Hegseth, there is also this)...



...and I realize our august corporate media doesn’t care about the impact of the USAID cuts outside of our country, but fortunately the CBC from our neighbors to the north does, and they report on how Bronzer Beelzebub’s freeze has worsened suffering in the world’s largest refugee camp in Bangladesh, though, to be fair, funding has fallen off also from other nations as the report tells us (have to include this from a foreign source also because our domestic media won’t cover it for fear of offending Dear Orange Leader)...



...and I don’t suppose it’s possible to bring the resources together for a “Concert for Bangladesh 2” or something to try and help those profiled in the previous clip...I’m old enough to remember when we once did that, yielding the following great tune in the process.

...and David Pakman tells us that Our Ochre Abomination is the most unpopular prez in 70 years according to a Gallup and a WP/Ipsos poll...and I think Pakman is exactly right about the media “sane washing” to keep our Demented Orange Toddler from having another of his legendary hissy fits...Pakman’s analysis of independent media is spot-on also; not saying we have to go charging out and financially support every single content creator out there, but only as our means allows...



...and Leeja Miller informs us that the MAGA backlash has begun (better late than never I guess)...and when even “Running Man” Josh Hawley and Steve freaking Bannon of all people tell “MAGA Mike” Johnson that cutting Medicaid is a bridge too far, I would say that that advice should be heeded...and I know I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again with utter cowards like Bri-Fi in mind; you were ostensibly elected to do the people’s business, and the LEAST you can do is make yourself accountable to the folks you allegedly represent and FREAKING SHOW UP IN PERSON TO ANSWER QUESTIONS!!! And I also believe that boycotts are important, but as stated, they need to be targeted with precise actions in order to be effective, and Miller is 150 percent correct in that it takes continual acts of resistance, with sometimes little victories and big defeats, as the song goes (sources for her video are here...NSFW/H also)...



...and Kyle Kulinski informs us that Bronzer Beelzebub has apparently decided to kill 115K infrastructure jobs (in the CHIPS Act) to spite Biden...I honestly didn’t know that that orange sh*tgibbon offshored 200K jobs during his first term, something else those clueless election losers at the DNC failed to point out last year...kudos also to Kyle for pointing out again how #47 sold the employees at Carrier down the river (NSFW/H as well)...

David Doel brings us this video of Rachel Maddow commendably speaking out against MSNBC letting Joy Reid go and reassigning Katie Phang and the other correspondents...and yeah, if Michael Steele is a “lefty,” then I’m a Chinese aviator; my understanding is that Symone Sanders-Townsend and Alicia Menendez are basically middle of the road, which I’m sure is exactly what MSNBC management wants...and I’ll admit I don’t follow the machinations and gamesmanship of the TV biz like others do because I think more important stuff is going on, but yeah, I can definitely see the argument that Joy Reid’s stance on Gaza could have been the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back (and I applaud Reid for that, by the way, as well as the others at MSNBC who opined in similar fashion...I had a big issue with Reid over the whole “Bernie Sanders body language expert” thing, but other than that, I thought she was spot-on and certainly didn’t deserve this treatment...and I wonder how many of these fine folks whose careers are now in limbo will end up leaving ultimately; I hope that doesn’t happen, but we’ll see)...

I know I discussed the departure of Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao from the U.S. Senate a couple of days ago, but I didn’t mention the episode noted by Rachel Maddow here, namely, about how Russia first sought to undermine our influence domestically and around the world, and I think it’s safe to say that their efforts have been successful, tragically...Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao shows up at about 8:08; clip argues that we needed a “bipartisan punch back” against Russian interference in our elections, but that death eater from Kentucky said “naaah”...and oh yeah, McConnell also blocked two bipartisan election security bills in response to Russia’s threat...Maddow’s segment also mentions Putin pal Oleg Deripaska and his connection to (senior Trump advisor at the time) Paul Manafort...and oh yeah, under the heading of “quid pro quo,” we found out about a Russian company linked to Deripaska that made a, shall we say, strategic investment in Kentucky at the time the sanctions against Russia were due to be passed, leading to McConnell forcing the sanctions against Deripaska’s firm to be cancelled (and a very interesting update from ’21 is here...clip ends at about 29:39 and loops into another one)...

...and Jen Psaki speaks with MSNBC Pentagon reporter Courtney Kube about the firing of the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Gen. Charles Q. Brown) because he’s black (I don’t feel like dancing around this subject anymore – we have a *presidential administration of racists...period, full stop), along with two other women in senior management positions at the Navy and the Coase Guard respectively as well as a general who promoted DEI, which of course is the black spot of career death as far as Trumpers are concerned (let’s see...“unit cohesion” – might be something this accursed administration should look into)...



...and speaking of our wretched SecDef (who rubber stamped the moves noted in the prior video), Farron Cousins informs us that Pete Hegseth owes $33K in back taxes...sweet! – and I definitely agree with Cousins that the whole “witch hunt” metaphor falls apart if you actually find something, which appears to have happened in this case...Cousins is also right when he says that an audit is a bit of a multi-layered process and it doesn’t just turn out without warning that you owe a ton of dough to the taxman (and yeah, it’s not like Hegseth doesn’t have the scratch to pay it either...yeah, just be a WATB instead, huh?)...



...and concerning Hegseth’s boss, Jonathan Pie gives Bronzer Beelzebub the shellacking he deserves over #47’s utter betrayal of Ukraine...and of course, our utterly gutless PA-01 U.S. House Rep Bri-Fi found a way to criticize Our Ochre Abomination without mentioning his name (clip is incredibly NSFW/H but appropriate IMO...we think politics is “rough and tumble” on our shores; we’ve got nothing on the Brits when it comes to that stuff, folks)...
