Monday Stuff

David Shuster of Rebel HQ talks about Trumpette Karoline Leavitt doing another pratfall when she's asked if the tariffs from her boss will cause a recession...and while I have myriad criticisms of Senate Dem “leader” Chuck Schumer, calling him a “Palestinian” (which isn’t even a valid criticism as far as I’m concerned, but consider the source) isn’t one of them (I realize we’re fully into this new timeline where, apparently, we’re not supposed to laugh in the face of the POTUS and not call him a stoo-pid POS)...”somebody drew a straight line through the U.S. and Canada many, many decades ago”...terrifying in a way to realize that probably about 77 million people last year said, “yeah, he’s the guy I want for president”...and I’m sure more people are trying to escape from here every day...

...and Kyle Kulinski discusses a “poll implosion” for Combover Caligula and King Elon I...Kyle goes over a bunch of data here about how quickly the “honeymoon” has soured for Bronzer Beelzebub, especially on the economy and also on foreign policy with picking these stoo-pid fights with Canada and Mexico...and I think a 39 percent approval rating on the economy is still way too damn high, but yeah, it remains a pretty sad number (and the number is even lower on foreign policy)...(NSFW/H)...

...and Farron Cousins lets us know about “MAGA Mike” Johnson getting trashed by his own voters mainly because of proposed cuts to Medicaid (1 in 4 of Johnson’s constituents need it) and SNAP, otherwise known as food stamps (1 in 5 of his constituents need that), according to an NBC News report (wonder why it took this mess to get people to wake the hell up, but alas, we are where we are)...

...and Leeja Miller brings us the following; our democracy is fragile, indeed...she presents a recap of how our allies are turning on us, and rightly so, over our beyond-ridiculous tariffs, along with King Elon’s plummeting values of his crappy Tesla vehicles...have to admit that I didn’t know that the prez was exempt from the Hatch Act, though there are other ways to hold our chief executive to account...and yes, it does appear that the primary means of enforcing ethics and legality in the Oval Office are under the purview of the executive, and it’s up to Congress to carry forward on impeachment of course, but after Combover Caligula, maybe we ought to find a way to redesign that arrangement, and no, I don’t know how exactly at the moment...also, I know Sam Seder, to his credit, had that roundtable with all of these wingnuts, but to be honest, I don’t want to validate the opinions of these numbskulls by commenting on their moronic observations (definitely not a comment on Seder)...and yeah, as far as I’m concerned, so much of our current misery can indeed be traced back to Citizens United, as Miller states at about 16:07, not just because of equating money with speech to a greater degree than ever before, but also because of the type of people who ended up in government and how they governed, basically, by ignoring everyone else who wasn’t a millionaire like they are...”The American dream is truly the ultimate cult” indeed...NSFW/H also...

...and John Russell of More Perfect Union visits America’s poorest counties in West Virginia devastated by flooding (and of course, there’s a media blackout...I’m genuinely sorry these people are dealing with all of this misery, and on the one hand, I cannot for the life of me understand why they would vote for ANY Republican, but on the other hand, this state was allegedly represented by Joe Manchin in the U.S. Senate, and he obviously didn’t do jack sh*t for them)...and of course, Our Ochre Abomination blames FEMA but has no proposed solution, for these people or anyone else who isn’t part of the “one percent” (and leave it to Cantaloupe Capone to approve emergency relief for only 4 of the 13 affected counties)...yeah, leave it also to the states to solve this, even though there’s $0 in West Virginia’s emergency management fund – what a cunning plan! (mildly NSFW/H as well)...

...and Happy St. Patrick's Day, lest I forget to mention that.

Friday Stuff

I know this clip from Chris Hayes is a few days old, and I honestly was hoping it wouldn’t be applicable any more, but sadly it is based on this...video has to do with the push back against King Elon and Bronzer Beelzebub by state attorneys general and those protesting at town halls...and yeah, it sure would be nice if those in congressional “leadership” on the “D” team would join us, but alas, we have small people in these roles requiring outsized efforts, and I don’t want to hear “oh, we don’t have majorities, so there’s nothing we can do” (and that alleged Dem centrist criticizing Al Green is a gutless coward for not going on the record...my money as to who’s responsible would be Jared Golden or Marie Gluesenkamp Perez...”now is the time for trying things” indeed)...

...and Rachel Maddow lets us know that Dems in the House apparently attempted to cast a vote to make The Gropenfuhrer get rid of his beyond-ridiculous tariffs wrecking our economy, as a bit of a show of resistance (a bit, speaking of "trying things"), but of course, “MAGA Mike” Johnson apparently caved on that, declaring the rest of the congressional session as “one long day” to keep Dems from introducing a resolution forcing a vote on the emergency (so basically, Johnson, Thune and that bunch in Congress are asking #47 if he likes it missionary or doggie style...yeah, there I go as a filthy, unkempt liberal blogger again)...

...well, at least one Dem is meeting the moment, and that would be U.S. House Rep John Larson of Connecticut, who takes off the metaphorical gloves when it comes to the "party of Lincoln" and privatization of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid...this has indeed been the plan of movement conservative ideologues going back at least to The Sainted Ronnie R (Jesse Dollemore tells us about it)...

...and as I’ve said before, I know what The Lincoln Project is, but they continues to step up with these great clips, as opposed to the “leadership” of that political party whose name begins with a “D” and can’t seem to figure out how to respond to the madness that surrounds us (NSFW/H)...

...and we recently lost another Dem fighter in Congress, and that would be Raul Grijalva of Arizona; here he is railing against Combover Caligula’s family separation policy...as usual, Cantaloupe Capone refused to take heed; this item has to do with the deportation of a little girl with brain cancer (at least she was kept with her family, and if that isn’t looking hard for a silver lining, I don’t know what is...yep, apparently it was too much to care for this child since we’re the richest country in the world – couldn’t monetize her suffering I guess, so she had to go)...

Update 3/15/25: And here is another story of kids allegedly not suffering from Elmo and DOGE’s horrible cuts, despite brutal evidence to the contrary.

...and kudos to Joan Baez for this; maybe SHE could run the DNC!

Thursday Stuff

Mike Figueredo of The Humanist Report brings us the sorry tale of wingnuts seething (especially those on Fix Noise) over King Elon getting protested at Tesla dealerships...and I reluctantly have to agree with Figueredo that, since we already have those beyond-ridiculous anti-BDS laws in 38 states criminalizing free speech, as well as laws against peaceful protest generally, I can definitely see that getting extended to save Elmo’s sorry ass here...and yep, it indeed does look like the “f*ck your feelings” crowd were the biggest snowflakes all along...and Figueredo is also correct to point out how “disgustingly corrupt” it is for the POTUS to be hawking autos for his biggest sugar daddy (and yet again, I ask what the reaction would be if a Dem actually did this...that person would be vilified every way possible, and that would be correct)...and I guess Stuart Varney gets a pass he shouldn’t because he’s a Brit? I could never quite figure that out...and no, I definitely don’t encourage violence either, but seriously, what the hell else can you expect when the world’s richest man decides to obliterate our federal government which is relied upon by millions in this country? And spoiler alert for Elmo...undocumented immigrants do pay into Social Security, with little hope of seeing any of that ever returned to them as noted here (NSFW/H)...

...and Farron Cousins chimes in on a similar note, with Elmo wanting to go after Medicare and Social Security...and is it just me, but when these charlatans talk about “waste, fraud and abuse,” they NEVER put it in the context of those stinking tax cuts or, say, PPP loans that were forgiven as noted here...

...and Jesse Dollemore also references the Tesla promotion by Bronzer Beelzebub, but also “Bobby Brainworms” encouraging consuming fried food to Make American Healthy Again with Sean Inanity at some place called Steak n’ Shake I believe (yep, sounds like we’re “through the looking glass” all right)...as much as I’d like to take issue with the Fix Noise talking head here, I really can’t, or at least not much (though the “plastic straw” stuff was typically childish of course); my problem is that WE HAVE THE GODDAMN HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY ENCOURAGING A DIET THAT WILL ONLY MAKE PEOPLE SICKER!!...for the reality perspective, here is information on the rates of diabetes in this country, affecting about 38 million people as of 2021, which is absolutely no joke (the most recent information I can find)...diabetes is a gateway illness of sorts to all kinds of other bad stuff (NSFW/H also)...

...and as David Pakman reminds us, Cantaloupe Capone has taken our economy from boom to bust in only 35 days, which must be some kind of a record, albeit an infamous one...

...and I thought this was a pretty smart take on what exactly is going on with our economy from YouTuber Vaush, echoing Pakman a bit; the "big casino" is currently still in free fall (heckuva job, all you numbskulls who opposed Harris/Walz last year)...

...and today is the 100th anniversary of the passing of the so-called “Butler Act” in Tennessee (here), which made it illegal to teach evolution in schools (and which led to the also-infamous “Scopes Monkey Trial” later the same year)...and for anybody out there thinking, “Oh, that’s a relic of the past! We’ve moved beyond that!,” I would only add that anti-science in this country has flourished again, unfortunately, when it comes to overturning Roe, attacking those with gender dysphoria seeking to transition, opposing immunizations/vaccinations, etc., and as far as I’m concerned, it all leads back to opposing evolution (I’ve put up that clip of Spencer Tracy in “Inherit The Wind” railing about fanaticism and ignorance enough times; that great production was based on the Scopes trial of course).

Wednesday Stuff

Tennessee Brando tells us that, apparently, Kentucky Bourbon utterly forgot that Everything Trump Touches Dies...c’est dommage...and yeah, I’m sure Cantaloupe Capone has never walked down a dirt road in his life all right (and Brando is definitely right about Andy Beshear – I went back and forth between Beshear and Tim Walz last year for VP, but I gave the slight nod to Walz because I thought it would help Harris more electorally; no disrespect to Beshear, but I was happy with Walz...oh well)...

...and by the way, are we tired of the winning yet?...

...and speaking of money matters, this New York Times clip tells us about people in our government who actually were saving us some dough, that is, before Elmo fired them...I wish I could take issue with the utterly dark assessment of the inspectors general at about 8:50, but I really can’t...

...and John of The Damage Report brings us a clip of Pete Buttigieg describing the coming fight over the budget in the House (which those gutless frauds voted for again yesterday, including Bri-Fi, with the head-scratching exception of Thomas Massie – and yeah, the beyond-useless Jared Golden on our side voted for it also)...Jim McGovern also reminds us of all the times the “party of Lincoln” voted to extend those stinking tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy at everyone else’s expense...and John is definitely right about getting big money out of politics, mainly for the “R” team but also for too many on the “D” team as well (more here)...

...and David Doel tells us about Mark Carney “throwing down,” you might say (and politely of course), in a speech after winning the vote of Canada’s liberal party for Prime Minister...maybe Carney is a bit strident, but I’m OK with it since he’s correct that his nation didn’t start this ridiculous trade gamesmanship (though I appreciate David Doel’s clarification)...I don’t know enough about Canadian politics to be able to say anything about Pierre Poilievre, but I’m inclined to give Doel the benefit of the doubt here...and just imagine a Dem in this country giving a speech and using the phrase “we know as liberals”; corporate media heads would probably spontaneously combust like in that movie “Scanners” (a Canadian film, appropriately enough...you can Google it)...and yeah, Poilievre is “Maple MAGA” for sure; good one...

...and Seth Meyers gives us “A Closer Look” (and once again, we have to leave it to a comedian to try and decipher corporate media gobbledygook...OK, so the Biden stock market was good because investors were anticipating a Trump win, but after Trump actually won, it tanked...huh????)...And yeah, “Human Capital Stock” Kevin Hassett says Canada has a big problem with fentanyl.

In response, I give you the following from here...
In fiscal 2024, 43 pounds of fentanyl were seized at the northern border, according to Customs and Border Protection data. More than 21,000 pounds were seized at the southern border during the same time period.
Wow, a whopping 43 pounds of fentanyl from Canada! Gee, that sure sounds like an excuse to completely tank our economy, doesn’t it (#sarcasm)...

Here is the Meyers clip...

Tuesday Stuff

Brian Tyler Cohen gives us an update here on all of the “winning” from Combover Caligula; yeah, #47 is just so great for the economy, isn’t he? – that is indeed why the market is in a free fall...and of course, look for gutless lickspittles like Kevin “Human Capital Stock” Hassett to blame Biden somehow...HEY ASSH*LE, YOUR LEADER HAS BEEN IN CHARGE SINCE 1/20; TRY SHOWING SOME ACTUAL GUTS AND STOP LYING, IF THAT’S EVEN POSSIBLE FOR YOU...and that goes for Maria Bartiromo also, the alleged “business” correspondent (meanwhile, in the world of reality, there is this)...and I don’t know where the hell Fix Noise found this Batya Ungar-Sargon person, but I would expect better business analysis from the “feral cat” in Cohen’s apt metaphor...actually, I have a feeling that Our Ochre Abomination actually wants all of the chaos he’s inflicting because he's looking for an excuse to try and implement the Insurrection Act, since he still wants to be a dictator – love to be wrong, but I don’t think I am...

...and Farron Cousins brings us the reality perspective on those damn tariffs with Canada and Mexico...I know you’ll be shocked to hear that #47's supposed rationale here doesn’t make any damn sense, partly because Mexico is stepping up their efforts when it comes to drugs coming into this country (and that basically isn’t an issue at all when it comes to Canada)...and only Mango Mussolini believes that tariffs can actually encourage a return of jobs to our shores; would that that were true – we would also need substantial investment from the feds when it comes to infrastructure, and we’ve been kicking that can down the road for way too damn long, though Biden did put us on a good path for that (something else he got no credit for in the election last year)...

...and Emma Vigeland of The Majority Report tells us about Dem U.S. House Rep Ayanna Pressley standing up to that fool James Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee...sounds like Comer called a hearing for big city mayors to try and make these people look bad for performing their jobs in a way that was contrary to the madness of Our Treasonous Orange Pustule, who wants to round up as many immigrants as possible (of course, all of the mayors called to testify were Dems)...yeah, as stated, if Comer would just shut the hell up and let Pressley introduce her articles into the record, then Comer wouldn’t have created the “gotcha” media moment...and yeah, also as stated, the “R” party wants to create similar moments to get on Fix Noise, so who’s kidding who here exactly? And kudos to Boston Mayor Michelle Wu for bringing some reality to this discussion in response to that numbskull Paul Gosar...and that bar graph of #47’s immigrant detentions is truly unsettling (but not surprising...I would tie that directly to the passage of that horrible Laken Riley bill)...

...and speaking of attacking the rights of immigrants, Jesse Dollemore (definitely not him) tells us of a Columbia Palestinian student (or recent graduate, apparently - mentioned at about 2:50) held at an ICE detention center for peacefully protesting (with DHS beating down the door to his apartment, and his wife was 8 months pregnant, just for the cherry on the icing on this sh*t sundae...a little fuzzy on the “home/apartment” thing to be honest, but that’s a relatively minor point in this awful story)...and leave it to “little Marco” to chime in in support of our fascists in charge...

Update 1: More here (and I agree with Atrios - Jeffries is awful).

Update 2: And as always for Trumpers, the cruelty is the point (here).

...and once more, The Lincoln Project shows the guts that the national Democratic Party refuses to demonstrate (and in the matter of the “party of Lincoln” attacking our veterans, there is this)...

...and happy belated 80th birthday to Micky Dolenz, the last surviving member of The Monkees.

Monday Stuff

Rachel Maddow lets us know that it looks like another of Elmo’s “rockets to Mars” experienced a “rapid, unscheduled disassembly,” meaning it blew up all to sh*t and caused headaches for people on the ground, as well as air traffic including passengers, pilots, controllers...ugh! (kind of a metaphor for the DOGE garbage from King Elon as far as yours truly is concerned)...

...and Belle lets us know that “the math isn’t mathing” for these numbskulls belonging to the “party of Lincoln” who say, “How dare you accuse us of trying to cut Medicare/Medicaid and children’s health insurance, you dastardly libs!” (and that includes @RepBrianFitz)...the CBO (people who actually know this stuff) say that at least 10 percent of these programs will have to be cut to pay for the stinking tax cuts that the Repugs want to get passed to reward the “pay no price, bear no burden” bunch once more...

...and Mike Figueredo of The Humanist Report tells us about an Ohio Trumper writing a racist message on a restaurant receipt aimed at her server, and the whole mess quite rightly blows up in her self-entitled face...and as Mike Figueredo points out, in Ohio, they pay a sub-minimum wage for tipped workers, so, by not tipping the server, this “Karen” literally took money out of the server’s paycheck...John Oliver recently had a really good segment on tipped workers and how ridiculous it is that the so-called “tipped wage,” which is often sub-minimum, varies from state to state (i.e., in Minnesota, tipped workers must be paid the full minimum wage even if taking tips, whereas in Wisconsin, the so-called sub-minimum “tipped” wage is about $2.13 an hour, believe it or not)...and I’m not the least bit surprised that the life forms rejoicing in the misery of this young man whose mom was deported all have blue check marks, which means they posted their garbage on Nazi Twitter, which is yet another reason to have nothing to do with that trash fire of a social media platform (more of Elon’s “rapid, unscheduled disassembly”)...kudos to the community for rallying in support of “Ricardo” and the restaurant (NSFW/H)...

...and Ben Meiselas of The Meidas Touch Network tells us about more Trumper nonsense about George Soros allegedly sending infiltrators to town halls to protest Repug politicians...yep, just keep believing that, you liars (and I know I mentioned the Richard Hudson idiocy last week about no more town halls)...also, though I’m sorry that Jennifer Piggott lost her job, at a certain point, I run out of sympathy for people who lived through the first godawful Trump term, watched all of his antics during the campaign – to say nothing of inciting 1/6 and the other legal stuff – and somehow decided to vote for him again...what more proof do you need that he’s a liar, a crook and a delusional narcissist? And that goes for Jensy Machado also (NSFW/H as well)...

...and Tennessee Brando gives us the latest on Marjorie Traitor Greene encouraging “measles parties” or some such idiocy...being the filthy, unkempt liberal blogger that I am, I’m still inclined to put forward my belief that, if pictures of kids suffering from encephalitis (brain swelling, which can be fatal) were put out there on our media, then everybody and their brother would have their kids lining up for the measles vaccine (encephalitis can occur without a measles immunization as Brando notes...mildly NSFW/H also)...

...and I definitely want to find out where that diner is located – looks like a pretty cool place 😊.

Friday, March 07, 2025

Friday Stuff

Chris Hayes tells us about yet another “big lie” from Our Treasonous Orange Pestilence, this time on Social Security (with the usual gaggle of idiots like “Cancun” Cruz chiming in)...you can always count on the ”R” party to fall in line, no matter how stoo-pid the reason (including “MAGA Mike” Johnson – I guess he took a break from monitoring his son’s viewing of p*rn to tell that tired lie about Social Security also...and speaking of “big lies,” let’s not forget this)...

...and speaking of the antics of Not Your Father’s Republican Party, Kyle Kulinski tells us that NRCC head Richard Hudson has told his party’s political lickspittles not to hold town halls any more...of course, as noted, Bri-Fi doesn’t hold them anyway because he’s a coward...and Kyle is indeed correct about keeping up the pressure on these frauds, and the Dems should respond WITH POLICY PROPOSALS THAT MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THEY REPRESENT THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY, such as utterly destroying DOGE and trying to make government right as it was prior to Elon taking up space in An Oval Office (which will probably take years at this point), legislation overturning Citizens United once and for all, codifying Roe v. Wade through legislation also, passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act (more on Lewis a bit later), reinforcing the CHIPS Act (which Bronzer Beelzebub is trying to destroy), reinstituting the CFPB, strengthening Social Security, and on and on...and I agree with Kyle about Schumer and Jeffries (speaking of frauds...and since yours truly resides in the commonwealth of PA, I wonder if Summer Lee in PA-12 could make time to hold an event in PA-01 since @RepBrianFitz is allergic to in-person meetings? And more on the tour of sorts from Bernie Sanders is here – NSFW/H)...

...and Sam and Emma of The Majority Report give us a summary of the not-SOTU and the somewhat spotty protests by Dems in response...and with all due respect to Dem U.S. House Rep Al Green (who was easily the most courageous of all of the Dems in attendance), the cap on taxable Social Security earnings shouldn’t be raised from about $176K, it should be eliminated altogether...and how pathetic is it that 10 alleged “Democrats” voted to censure Green in response as noted here?)...

...and David Pakman lets us know that, apparently, that shameless harpie Maria Bartiromo lost it when an auto dealer in Glen Mills, PA was interviewed and this man said Trump’s tariffs would be terrible, raising the prices of vehicles like crazy...yeah, as Pakman says, I can just see a big ass Chevy Silverado plowing down the narrow streets of Delhi, probably pulverizing people and everything else getting in the way – gosh, color me shocked that other countries don’t want to buy these monstrosities (#sarcasm)...

...and today is the 60th anniversary of the “Bloody Sunday” voting rights march to the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama; one of the leaders of the march was indeed former Dem U.S. Congressman John Lewis of Georgia – I guess this is some of the “DEI” history that Bronzer Beelzebub wants to censor...sorry, orange turd, Na-Ga-Ha-Pen (more here)...

...and happy International Women's Day tomorrow (and with that in mind, I offer this).

Thursday, March 06, 2025

Thursday Stuff

This Karoline Leavitt person parrots more Trump nonsense here about the five bullet points thing when questioned by a reporter (though Marie Harf commendably brings some sanity to Fix and Fiends)...and yeah, King Elon is trying to trample us to make us as miserable as possible so we’ll accept all this BS, as stated by federal worker Chris Dols...”grand theft government” indeed (John I of The Damage Report is commendably strident here IMO)...

...and Farron Cousins informs us of the stock market completely crashing when Our Ochre Abomination announced those beyond-ridiculous tariffs of his, so of course the aforementioned Karoline Leavitt and Larry Kudlow blame Biden (I know Kudlow has had a problem with the snowman in the past, and I don’t know if that’s going on here or not...”many people are saying this”...hey, if that line is good enough for Mango Mussolini, then I can use it too, amirite?)...

...and Jesse Dollemore informs us of federal judges facing death threats after Cantaloupe Capone and President Elon threaten them online...and why did I know that the beyond-useless Ed Martin was involved in this somehow? And as Jesse says, there is no “we” in this discussion, Judge Jones...it is Elon and his bunch of online lunatics who are responsible for the heightened threat environment...and I wish Jesse was wrong about the whole “police state” thing, but somehow I think he may be on to something, tragically (slightly NSFW/H)...

...and I think this is a terrific ad for Susan Crawford, running for the Wisconsin Supreme Court - hold "Elmo" up to the ridicule he deserves (more here)...sorry that you can't view the ad as embedded unless you go to Bluesky, though I think that's a good place to go to anyway, as opposed to Elon's Nazi hellscape...

Goddamn. Great ad.

...and Thom Hartmann speaks with Ellie Krug on Bronzer Beelzebub’s executive order that, in essence, declared trans people as somehow “illegal”...and if anybody out there thinks “well, I’m ‘cis,’ so I’ll be OK,” you truly aren’t paying attention...

...and I’m in the mood for a newer tune, and I think this will suffice – if this blog has a credo of sorts, I guess this is it.

Wednesday, March 05, 2025

Wednesday Stuff

(By the way, posting may get a bit sporadic over the next week or so; I'm not sure yet.)

Rachel Maddow gave us a report earlier this week on hundreds of NOAA employees getting laid off due to King Elon’s DOGE insanity (push back led by Dr. Sarah Cooley), leading to protests all over DC (not just over NOAA, though that’s bad enough, but also for eliminating the CFPB and cuts to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs)...we also learn about protests at Tesla dealerships over the weekend, as well as elsewhere in numerous places across the country...

...and I suppose attention must be paid to the “Not SOTU” last night from Our Demented Orange Toddler of a *president (ugh)...”fix prices on day one, including eggs, which Biden is responsible for, not me”...God almighty, how pathetic! And oh yeah, the “unelected bureaucrats” who keep us all safe – the ones King Elon is kicking to the curb, as noted in the prior clip...”lots of things with the Panama Canal and a couple of other canals”...anybody have an idea what planet this guy lives on? And yeah, I have a feeling “little Marco” is wondering why the hell he gave up his job in the U.S. Senate for this utter clusterf*ck of a *presidential “administration” based on that look at about 4:49...and yeah, promoting that little boy suffering from cancer who commendably wanted to be a cop while cutting funding for pediatric cancer research is par for the course with these cretins (more fact checking and context is here and here, including the “transgender mice” idiocy here...and Trumpette Alina Habba apparently said that our vets aren’t good enough for jobs here; I would speculate on the type of “job” Habba is good at, but I’d like to keep this content PG-rated, if you will)...

Update 1: And oh yeah, there is this.

...and Jesse Dollemore lets us know, once again, that Couch Boy is full of sh*t; actually, he’s correct in that we should defend the right of people to speak out in a disagreeable manner, even if his boss Cantaloupe Capone puts out another nutty post on Truth Septic saying people should be arrested and kicked out of the country for just that...also, people aren’t getting arrested outside of abortion clinics for “silently praying,” you clod; they’re getting arrested for creating disturbances and interfering with women’s right to the health care they need at these clinics...and “Mr. Hillbilly Elegy” proved again how out of his depth he is (re, that comment about “20,000 troops from some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30-40 years” as noted here, which 1) is factually not true, and 2) is yet another attempt by our ruling cabal of criminals and frauds to create division between this country and our allies)...and yeah, Trumpist lawyer Ed Martin sure is trying to curry favor with his boss at the expense of our democratically elected government, isn’t he?...

...and once more, a hat tip goes out to Bill Madden on Xitter for this...

...and I now give you the latest installment of "This Day In Doomsy History" from 3/5/15......with all of the Trumpist insanity going on, one story which seems to have been pushed completely out of our dialogue (as near as I can tell anyway) is the environmental health of this planet (which, to be fair, is a topic that is pretty much social media Kryptonite, if you will, meaning that it’s widely ignored based on views and clicks, which is something I’ll never understand since this is the only planet we have)...anyway, way back when, The Young Turks had a story about the increases in earthquakes due to fracking in Oklahoma (an update that is actually positive about Oklahoma is here, though earthquakes due to fracking and wastewater disposal is something that we very much need to watch out for as noted here)...and you KNOW this clip is ancient because it includes Jimmy Dore and Dave Rubin along with Ana Kasparian and Desi Doyen (NSFW/H because of Dore)...

Update 2: And speaking of the environment, "Strip Search Sammy" Alito needs to be buried up to his neck in sludge for this.

...and RIP Joey Molland, the last surviving member of Badfinger, possibly the most star-crossed band of all time.

Tuesday Stuff

Farron Cousins informs us here that about 40% of King Elon’s DOGE cuts won’t actually save any $$ since the funds have already been paid...”just say ‘oops’ and get out,” you numbskulls...and when you’re talking about the federal budget, $4-5 billion doesn’t even count as small change...

...and apparently the Gropenfuhrer is going to give a Not-Really-State-Of-The-Union-But-Yeah-Let’s-Pretend-It-Is address tonight, and Jesse Dollemore discusses putting pressure on Dems to stand up against fascism in response...and there aren’t too many in our establishment media I would take seriously at this point, but Jamelle Bouie is one of them...not that it matters one bit I realize, but here is what I’d do; I would have said publicly in advance that King Elon I should reinstate the employees he fired as a result of his DOGE purge and I would also say to Trump that DOGE needs to go completely, and if not, no Dems will not attend, which guarantees that Dems won’t attend because there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of our ruling cabal of treasonous demagogues actually backing down... actually, I think Ron Wyden is the only Dem handling this the right way as noted here...

...and oh look, another Repug is running and hiding from constituents, as Brian Tyler Cohen tells us, and this time it’s U.S. Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas, who decides to cut and run when asked a question about veterans’ benefits...yeah, all of those protesting at town halls are Dem ‘”crisis actors”; uh huh... just keep telling yourself that and watch what happens in the next election...and of course, since we’re talking about Repug wingnuttery, it’s almost a legal requirement to include Marjorie Trailer Park Greene (who, by the way, is also an employee of the federal government...what a moron)...and great job by MSNBC - I guess it was them - to include that clip of the fired federal employees...and yeah, the “Free Beacon” is such an objective news source...yeah – tell me when the spaceship lands, OK? (NSFW/H)...

...and to point out just how crazy the “party of Lincoln” has become, David Pakman gives us some clips of Repugs refusing to admit that Russia invaded Ukraine...not just Trump SecDef Pete Hegseth, but this Mike Waltz character and of course Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma (I’m surprised Mullin didn’t take his coat off and threaten Kristen Welker, since that seems to be par for the course with him)...and I think Pakman is spot-on in saying that the wingnuts can’t say Russia started it because, if they did, then all of the Repug posturing over the war doesn’t make any sense (and it doesn’t anyway of course, but I’m talking here about spin and perception from the “R” team, not verifiable truth and reality...oh, and speaking of Hegseth, there is also this)...

...and I realize our august corporate media doesn’t care about the impact of the USAID cuts outside of our country, but fortunately the CBC from our neighbors to the north does, and they report on how Bronzer Beelzebub’s freeze has worsened suffering in the world’s largest refugee camp in Bangladesh, though, to be fair, funding has fallen off also from other nations as the report tells us (have to include this from a foreign source also because our domestic media won’t cover it for fear of offending Dear Orange Leader)...

...and I don’t suppose it’s possible to bring the resources together for a “Concert for Bangladesh 2” or something to try and help those profiled in the previous clip...I’m old enough to remember when we once did that, yielding the following great tune in the process.

Monday Stuff

(This, now and always, is my message to Trump supporters, with this in mind.)

(Oh, and by the way, are we tired of all the winning yet?)

Brian Tyler Cohen gives us a clip of British PM Keir Starmer acting like a leader of a free industrialized nation is SUPPOSED to act, demonstrating solidarity with Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which obviously was a bridge WAAY too far for Our Demented Orange Toddler of a *president...and I probably should have pointed out earlier that this utter catastrophe between Zelenskyy and Combover Caligula with Couch Boy was indeed planned, but I was probably still too enraged to process that fact, to be honest (NSFW/H)...

...and David Pakman tells us that Our Ochre Abomination is the most unpopular prez in 70 years according to a Gallup and a WP/Ipsos poll...and I think Pakman is exactly right about the media “sane washing” to keep our Demented Orange Toddler from having another of his legendary hissy fits...Pakman’s analysis of independent media is spot-on also; not saying we have to go charging out and financially support every single content creator out there, but only as our means allows...

...and Leeja Miller informs us that the MAGA backlash has begun (better late than never I guess)...and when even “Running Man” Josh Hawley and Steve freaking Bannon of all people tell “MAGA Mike” Johnson that cutting Medicaid is a bridge too far, I would say that that advice should be heeded...and I know I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again with utter cowards like Bri-Fi in mind; you were ostensibly elected to do the people’s business, and the LEAST you can do is make yourself accountable to the folks you allegedly represent and FREAKING SHOW UP IN PERSON TO ANSWER QUESTIONS!!! And I also believe that boycotts are important, but as stated, they need to be targeted with precise actions in order to be effective, and Miller is 150 percent correct in that it takes continual acts of resistance, with sometimes little victories and big defeats, as the song goes (sources for her video are here...NSFW/H also)...

...and Kyle Kulinski informs us that Bronzer Beelzebub has apparently decided to kill 115K infrastructure jobs (in the CHIPS Act) to spite Biden...I honestly didn’t know that that orange sh*tgibbon offshored 200K jobs during his first term, something else those clueless election losers at the DNC failed to point out last year...kudos also to Kyle for pointing out again how #47 sold the employees at Carrier down the river (NSFW/H as well)...

...and Tennessee Brando tells us how the fine folks in the “green mountain state” told Couch Boy what they thought of him during his recent ski trip...and as I watched this about Combover Caligula picking totally extreme individuals for his cabinet, all I could think of was all the times our beyond useless corporate media would chide Presidents Obama and Biden for not reaching out to Repugs, even though Obama tapped Robert Gates for SecDef; not sure who was Republican in Biden’s cabinet (if anyone), but more importantly, I’m not hearing a freaking word from “the old gray lady” or the Bezos WaPo about #47 bringing a Dem on board in a similar role...and Brando may be right about Vance when all is said and done, which is awful, but this is indeed all part of a sinister, disgusting plan (another NSFW/H clip...basically, put on your headphones for everything except Pakman and the next video...and a typical response from The Roger Ailes BS Factory is here)...

...and RIP David Johansen, who most notably was the front man for the New York Dolls...I never quite knew where the joke began and ended with the whole Buster Poindexter thing, assuming there even was a joke to it – with that in mind, I present this tune.

Saturday Stuff

Like many of you I’m sure, I was raised by parents who lived through the Depression and World War II (I hesitate to say it was “the Greatest Generation” not because I didn’t love my parents, but because that term had a lot to do with marketing and branding by Tom Brokaw for his book, and my father thought Brokaw was full of crap)...I’m mentioning that only to add that I’m glad that they weren’t around to see that disgusting Oval Office spectacle yesterday with President Zelenskyy...we know that #47 is an insane lying narcissist (and nice job to screw up the year of hostilities between Ukraine and Vlad The Butcher, with the latter annexing Crimea...it was 2014, you putz!...more here), but my God, does “Couch Boy” ever come off here as someone waaay out of his depth...and God almighty, Combover Caligula is doing the “accordion hands” thing again and lying about former President Biden in response to a question about Russia breaking a cease fire agreement with Ukraine...and yeah, what a “Democrat scam”...suuure...every time I think there’s no possible way I could despise Our Treasonous Orange Pestilence any more than I do, he always seems to plummet to lower depths somehow...I actually agree with this impaired orange asshat when he says at about 13:07 that “we’ve seen enough” (and let’s not forget how devastating this gaffe was also)...I’m glad Ben Meiselas of the Meidas Touch Network also included the clip of Justin Trudeau so we can see how a legitimate leader of an industrialized nation actually behaves on this issue (I often click or swipe off anything having to do with Cantaloupe Capone, but I forced myself to watch the entire excruciating 16 minutes of this...and yeah, I’m sure this will make “good television” for Putin, Xi, Erdogan, and every other autocrat out there)...

Update: Uh, yep.

...and Brian Tyler Cohen gives us a sampling of how global leaders reacted to yesterday’s horror show...my stomach absolutely sank watching that clip from the German prime minister at about 5:08 saying they need to establish independence from the US, though I don’t blame the man one bit for reacting the way he did to what happened...

...and here is some overseas reporting form Sky News...I’m presenting this for the dumbfounded take from people no doubt wondering exactly what the f*ck is going on with our demented toddler-king...

...and Belle focuses on Zelenskyy and Mango Mussolini and comments about World War III...GREAT point about China now wondering if they have an opening against Taiwan, unfortunately (echoing the Cohen clip a bit), as well as noting that Trump probably doesn’t know, as Belle says, that HE is in the poker game also (though God only knows what passes for thought processes with this truly sick individual...and yeah, I’m sure all of this will do wonders for recruitment also - #sarcasm)...

...and yeah, I think this man is all of us at this point (and I wonder if @JamesCarville still thinks we should "do nothing")...

...and there are a few musical numbers that come to mind for yours truly at a time like this, but I think this selection is apropos - hope you agree.

Update 3/2/25: Well done.

Friday Stuff

Once more, The Lincoln Project shows a spine that the national Democratic Party refuses to demonstrate (as far as I’m concerned, the latest example from Kaine, Hassan and Hickenlooper in the Senate is here...confirm absolutely no one from this criminal regime until King Elon I ends this DOGE insanity, but not before putting right everything and his flunkies have destroyed)...

...and Brian Tyler Cohen and Marc Elias discuss Repugs in the House being encouraged to hold “tele” town halls as opposed to facing their constituents in person (since those protesting must be “crisis actors” or something, according to the RNC), taking a page from the book used spinelessly by Bri-Fi among others, who refuses to hold in-person town halls to this day (and of course, Bri-Fi’s numbskull supporters continue to reward this behavior by sending him back to Washington every 2 years...glad to see Bri-Fi himself getting a dig here)...and as far as I’m concerned, it’s typical con man/crook behavior for Mango Mussolini to say, “Oh, don’t blame ME for cuts to Medicare/Medicaid; it’s really the fault of Congress,” kind of like a CEO who gets named chairman of the board, hires someone to take his place as CEO and then says, “Don’t blame ME for the layoffs – I hired somebody ELSE to run my company even though I still call the shots behind the scenes”...and in response to Elias’s question as to whether or not Repugs in Congress are playing dumb or really are that dumb, I would respond by saying that there are so many millionaires in the House and the Senate that they likely REALLY ARE that out of touch...

...and Kyle Kulinkski tells us about mass resignations from King Elon’s DOGE staff; looks like 20 legit data scientists said “F this” after they got harassed by these Musk fan boy punks...additionally, the Ketamine addict apparently sent an Email to government agencies saying “give me 5 bullet points of what you did – if you don’t, that’s your resignation” and people rightly flipped out...shocked that Kash Patel didn’t give in, which is a fluke as far as I’m concerned...and by the way, Elmo, “Old Twitter” had a hell of a lot more value than that trash fire you’ve turned it into (and now #47 and his sycophants are acting like “Elon Musk? Head of DOGE? Never heard of him – it’s really this nondescript woman manager no one has ever heard of who’s on vacation in Mexico.”) – I’d say that we’re being run by an administration out of a Seinfeld episode, but that’s probably being too kind...and altering records from Biden showing #46 wanted to purchase about $483K in Tesla vehicles, then backdating the records to make it look like Biden really wanted to spend $400 million instead? Lock their asses up! (NSFW/H)...

...and Chris Hayes informs us that, apparently, Uday Trump’s hunting buddy will be the new food regulator at the FDA...and apparently, this character has made a name for himself litigating against food safety regulation (Hayes speaks with Adam Serwer about this “Great Re-segregation,” which I think is an apt term, and also the forcing out of General C.Q. Brown of the Joint Chiefs and Admiral Lisa Franchetti)...I’m not exactly sure why Hayes is pivoting here to Woodrow Wilson from over a hundred years ago; yes, Wilson fell down on race a bit, though he did speak out against lynching (albeit a bit late) – I think Wilson evolved on that issue a bit, but not a lot I realize...good point by Serwer about how the federal government used to provide a ladder of sorts when It came to mobility for minorities because of on-the-job anti-discrimination protections (oh, but now, "That's DEI, so it's baaaaad!!!"...removing my tongue from my cheek)...

...and Tennessee Brando finds some fresh new Repug hell over this MAGA state senator named Shane Jett who spoke out against a bill that banned physical punishment against disabled kids (and quoted from the Bible, because of course...here)...kind of astonishing that that ban needed to be codified into law in the first place, but then again, we’re talking about Oklahoma here, folks...and kudos to Brando for shooting down that nonsense about kids identifying as cats and needing littler boxes, a story pushed by Rojo The Clown among others (NSFW/H also)...

...and here’s a great newer rockin’ number to lead us into the weekend...and once more, don’t forget that today is boycott day.

Update: For reasons that are too long and boring to get into, I know that a lot of stuff I post here is a little “behind the curve,” but I still try to keep content at this site as current as I can. That being said, I know about the train wreck today with Bronzer Beelzebub, Couch Boy and President Zelenskyy for what it’s worth. I don’t have much to add at the moment, but I can assure you that I will adress that soon.

Thursday Stuff

Mike Figueredo of The Humanist Report tells us about former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe speaking out against MAGA at a Huntington Beach, CA city council meeting (and that takes guts if for no other reason because that’s a Repug-leaning district)...it’s pretty freaking incredible to me that there’s actually a Project 2025 tracker so we can see our government getting dismantled in real time (and again, I wonder where the hell the “D team” is on all of this)...and we’re presented once more with the clip of that puke Kevin Roberts of The Heritage Foundation again saying all of this will remain “bloodless” if we knuckle under and comply...I’d also forgotten about that garbage SAVE Act from that troglodyte Chip Roy of Texas, which indeed would remove voting rights for “cis” married women, as well as queer and trans people of course as Figueredo says...what country am I living in again?...clip also discusses the ways that Our Ochre Abomination is basically thumbing his nose at court orders, along with that nutball judge trying to pave the way for another ruinous Trump term beyond this one...by the way, and I know this isn’t the main point here, but Kluwe is a “cis” married male with two kids – just an FYI, and sorry that it took me a few days to get to this (NSFW/H)...

...and kudos to Dem U.S. House Rep Becca Balint of the great state of Vermont for speaking truth to stoo-pidity here on the ridiculous (to say nothing of cruel) budget just passed by the U.S. House of Mango Mussolini and “MAGA Mike” Johnson (and voted for by Bri-Fi, our utter joke of a PA-01 U.S. House rep)...

...and David Shuster brings us more on that utterly awful Repug budget that just passed the House, which includes $2 trillion in cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and food stamps (oh, but Bri-Fi says, “You silly lib! We didn’t spell out those programs!,” which makes me ask this question: HOW DUMB DO YOU THINK WE ARE??!!)...this is EXACTLY the kind of garbage I and many, MANY others were trying to warn people about last year...oh, but watch our glorious Beltway courtier media twist itself into knots covering the atmospherics or whatever of the “arm twisting” and all of the perception BS WHILE IGNORING THE ACTUAL SUBSTANCE OF THE FREAKING BILL!!! And the “news” isn’t that Joe Kernan is defending the “pay no price, bear no burden” bunch; the “news” would be if he didn’t – no disrespect to Shuster (and I wish Khanna would have pushed back by quoting Warren Buffett saying he pays a lower tax rate than his secretary in terms of what rich people actually pay FOR REAL in taxes - more here - but at least Khanna did something in response)...and nothing against Erin Burnett of CNN, but why the hell that network gives the time of day to a wingnut like Erick (“Son Of Erick”) Erickson...oh, never mind...and I’m actually glad Shuster showed that clip with Fitzgerald and Grothman of Wisconsin again; that should be hung around both of their necks for the rest of their lives...

(Also, speaking of our wet noodle PA-01 rep, I’m hearing unofficially that people are calling his office and making respectful inquiries about what the #@!! exactly is going on, and Bri-Fi’s staffers are hanging up on them...figures.)

..and this TikTok clip comes courtesy of Bill Madden on Xitter; I had said in the past that Bronzer Beelzebub and our “ally” “Bibi” want to do the genocide thing in Gaza, pave it over and build luxury hi-rise hotels or condos or something, but my God, I was hoping that was just an exaggeration...this promo for “Trump Gaza” (yes, you read that right) actually appeared on Truth Septic...

...and in response, I have only this to say...

(By the way, something in the back of my mind is pinging a bit over this – I’m sure #47 promised “Bibi” something, and I just pray to God that it wasn’t an attack on Iran, but knowing our outlaw regime in charge I wouldn’t put that past them.)

...and RIP screen icon Gene Hackman...I know I should reserve judgment on this stuff, but it sounds an awful lot like a suicide took place, though it could be accidental asphyxiation also (God, even the dog died...so many terrific clips from Hackman’s career to choose from, but I settled on this from “Mississippi Burning”...NSFW/H but for a good reason)...

...and apparently, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Rhiannon Giddens cancelled an appearance at the Kennedy Center and rescheduled her performance elsewhere based on you-know-who’s takeover of the institution named after our 35th president...nice work to set an example more should follow.

Update: And one more thing...
