Thursday Stuff (updates)

This is the Rachel Maddow report I noted last night about the involvement of Richard Cohen in Uganda's attack on gays (with the additional involvement of Joe Pitts and Bart Stupak in the U.S. House, and Tom Coburn in the U.S. Senate).

(By the way, speaking of Stupak, while many of us were quite rightly outraged about the Palin/WaPo mess on climate change denial, Stupak ended up peddling a load of horse dookey in much the same manner in the New York Times recently on the pro-sepsis, coathanger abortion amendment sponsored by both him and Pitts - hat tip to Atrios for this)...

...and here's more from Jeff Sharlet, including the "freight train heading down the tracks with the horn blazing" scenario of Obama actually speaking before some of these criminals next February, noted at the end of the report (and why am I not surprised that Pitts apparently has nothing to say about this, but, as Sharlet tells us, he's all opposed to distributing condoms to fight AIDS?)...

Update 1 12/11/09: I’m not a bit surprised by Grassley’s reaction here, but I’m noting this to point out that 100 people protested Uganda’s London embassy today in response (and to all Americans wishing to express their displeasure, click here).

Update 2 12/11/09: And in a related story, as they say, I give you this.

Update 3 12/12/2009: Gee, Chuck, it took you long enough (hmmm, sounds a bit lyrical - here).

Update 4 12/12/2009: This is good - more like it, actually.

...and on a wholly other note, I just thought this was a nice song (no video)...

...and oh yeah, here's another seasonal item from those guys with the treadmills...

...and here's one more for the season for good measure.
