Saturday AM Stuff

I think K.O. is pushing it here by comparing the "teabaggers" to Hamas and Hezbollah (God help us if that comparison ever becomes true, though I don't think those obstructing health care reform know where that line is), and I was glad to see Jonathan Alter politely chide him for it, but after watching this, I'll admit that it does make you wonder...

...though Frank Schaeffer has made up his mind here, which is scary given that he has a particular insight into these life forms.

And by the way, click here to see the next stops in what is, sadly, turning into a PA freak show.

The tea baggers. Dick Armeys band of fools.

They are being manipulated and used while Armey and others make millions encouraging them to be "patriots".

In the "protest" against health care reform they are storming public meetings, denying the rights of others to exercise free speech while they claim the right for themselves.

The founders are weeping.

And Dick Armey and other lobbyists are laughing all the way to the Swiss banks.

We have the best democracy money can buy.

By the way, these characters are planning a march on Washington on September 12th - I heard some rumblings about that and went to the FreedomWorks site where they're publicizing the hell out of it.

I don't have time to say much about this now, but I just finished reading some column of what I consider BS by Sheryl Stolberg of the New York Times trying to establish some phony equivalency between pro and anti-health care protesters. This is how our media cycle works, from Drudge to Politico to "respectable" sources (and on CNN, Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao said there are "worried citizens" at the meetings...I replied with an eight-letter word describing a manure product you might find on a farm).
