Saturday Stuff
(Remember when nurses actually had to face off with these idiots protesting stay-at-home orders, such as noted here? Gee, I wonder if we'd have turned the corner instead of dealing with the horror that we currently face from this plague If these protesting fools had behaved like, y’know, ACTUAL GODDAMN ADULTS INSTEAD??!!)
Rachel Maddow brings us this clip of Nebraska ICU nurse Nikki Tomlinson and what she and her co-workers continually encounter in response to the COVID-19 pandemic - gives us still more insight into the lethality of this plague (and all the best to Maddow and her partner Susan on what they’ve been dealing with in particular on this; a little late on this I realize, but I’m glad Susan is getting better...I’ll say a prayer)...
...and Chris Hayes brought us this recent segment of Trumpster Scott Atlas telling everybody to pretty much go out and get infected this Thanksgiving with Erin Banco of The Daily Beast – yeah, it probably really will be the final Thanksgiving for a few of these people if they take Atlas seriously (but hopefully not); Atlas, let’s not forget, is a radiologist – not trying to impugn that profession, but only saying that a person with that background is all wrong for being in charge of this type of policy, though it makes perfect lack of sense for Trumpworld...
...and speaking of lack of sense, Farron Cousins tells us about Mango Mussolini’s crazed minions making death threats against election officials, law enforcement, etc., harking back to the pic at the top of this post (“Courts need evidence, cults do not,” indeed)...
...and this Now This clip tells us about our Soon-To-Be-Departing (whether he likes it or not) Orange Pustule in An Oval Office pledging to unite everybody in ’16, but after that, not so much (love the music choices here)...
...and sort of playing into that, David Pakman gives us this OAN report about the alternate reality in which Number 45 actually won 410 electoral votes – uh, sure...
...and happy upcoming 70th birthday to Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads and the Tom Tom Club (from "Stop Making Sense" - not related to a couple of videos in this post I wish to emphasize).

Friday Stuff
Brian Williams tells us about that thoroughly nutty press conference yesterday with “flop sweat hair dye Rudy” concocting all kinds of crazy conspiracy garbage about the recently conducted election...given the almost complete silence in response from the “party of Lincoln” (and barely a peep also in response to this – more garbage to try and overthrow an election that was conducted as well as we could have hoped for given the fact that Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao in the Senate didn't do a damn thing to ensure that our elections are conducted more securely, especially given ‘rona and the increase of mail-in voting)...given all of that, why the hell should we treat the “loyal opposition” with anything but scorn and contempt?
No, we shouldn’t merely laugh this off. Mango Mussolini and his minions are trying to find SOME WAY to cast the entire election into doubt and take it to the Supreme Court, where the conservative majority, including the “Christian handmaiden” and “I Like Beer” Brett, will try to find SOME WAY to illegally award it to 45 (and yeah, remember this?)...
...and John I. and Dan Evans of “The Damage Report” tell us more on the Wayne County, Michigan nonsense (good job by John to draw the line back to Reagan, then to Dubya and Trump...and GREAT point by Dan Evans about how much blowing up ACORN hurt Dem organizing)...
...and David Pakman talks with Cristobal Alex, senior advisor for the Biden campaign, on the Latino vote in the 2020 election (and yes, give Latinos credit for Arizona, but also Native Americans too...I thought this was a pretty good interview; work to be done for sure, but I think the Biden people know that - hope so anyway...sounds like Pakman does a Spanish broadcast also; nice work)...
...and David Doel tells us about Cori Bush responding to CNN’s Erin Burnett when asked about Bush’s Breonna Taylor mask and also about the push back from conserva-Dems Conor Lamb and Abigail Spanberger...this is the first opportunity I’ve had to hear Bush, and I’m impressed – I also remain steadfast in my belief that “defund the police” is a terrible slogan, but I appreciate the clarification in this clip...
...and in similar fashion as John I. and Dan Evans did in the prior clip, Thom Hartmann draws a line of Repug infamy from The Sainted Ronnie R to Dubya to the Gropenfuhrer when discussing "freedom" for the one percent, and absolutely no one else (and this is what Thom was talking about concerning Reagan, by the way)...
...and I give you this selection for World Children's Day (to help, click here).

Thursday Stuff
The “Morning Joe” crew (which, basically here, is Joe Scarborough) discusses Generalissimo Trump’s firing of Chris Krebs, the cybersecurity expert tasked with maintaining the integrity of our elections who apparently got canned because he disputed Trump's claims of election fraud (Krebs had a job I wouldn’t want for all the $$ in the world even if I were qualified - here)...nice job by MSNBC to clip the video so we didn’t hear a response to another of Joe Scar’s interminable soliloquies masquerading as an actual question (yeah, I’m sure “Mitch” will acknowledge election fraud...I’m also sure sunshine, lollipops and rainbows will now magically appears before my eyes too)...
Update: More of the clipped video can be viewed here (and yeah, basically, it's a case of not upsetting Our Orange Pustule-In-Chief because the Repugs don't want to alienate 45's base, particularly with the GA special elections coming up, and also, they don't want to deal with an angry tweet...God, how pathetic).
...and with the theme of media idiocy in mind, I now give you the latest installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” from 11/19/16, in which Carlos Maza tells us about how the wingnutosphere, with the not-so-subtle prodding of Fix Noise, continually tries to outdo each other for clicks and eyeballs to their sites, you might say, with more and more outrageous nonsense...
...and David Pakman tells us about the recent “million MAGA march,” with commentary by The Roger Ailes BS Factory (Pakman, to his credit, does a “deeper dive” here, and yeah, that sign was pretty damn disgusting all right)...
...and this New York Times clip tells us about cops often looking the other way in response to threats of (or actual) right-wing violence, stoked by the some of the “usual suspects” mentioned by Carlos Maza...
...but of course (and returning to the theme of media nonsense), leave it to Bill Maher (who ceased being relevant a while ago as far as I’m concerned) to take exactly the wrong lessons from the recent 2020 elections – at the end of the day, it looks like Maher is just another well-off boomer who wants his stinking tax cuts ...I think this is one of the best commentaries from Kyle in a looooong time (as far as I’m concerned, Conor Lamb and Abigail Spanberger ought to get the words “economic populism” tattooed on their foreheads – NSFW/H)...
...and belated happy 70th birthday wishes to Graham Parker (and when it comes to media insanity and right-wing lunatics, I think this tune is appropriate...and I missed the passing of comedian Jack Burns this year who gives the intro...RIP).

Wednesday Stuff
I’d like to see the U.S. House pass a resolution saying that our departing Orange Pustule-In-Chief isn’t allowed to do a damn thing in the time he has left in office, which to me is an appropriate clap-back at his refusal thus far to concede...I say that also because, like many of us I know, I remain greatly concerned about the havoc he could still wreak on the world stage...I agree with Cenk in this clip when it comes to offering praise, to a point, in response to what sounds like his desire to draw down in Iraq and Afghanistan, but it concerns me because I don’t know if another metaphorical shoe will drop after that (and I was shocked to hear Ana’s remark about the alleged Russian bounties on our troops, but based on this, she may be exactly right)...
...and this Meidas Touch video brings us more on Emily Murphy of the GSA, who apparently still is not allowing the agency she allegedly manages to work with the Biden team on the transition (and rooftop sex parties, huh? Nice.)...
...and speaking of malfeasance, this clip takes incumbent GA Repug U.S. Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue to task (to help Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, running against them in that state’s especial elections coming up in January, click here...and apparently Loeffler is up to some new tricks based on this)...
Update 11/20/20: More garbage on Perdue and his insider trading is here.
...and speaking of Georgia, John I. and Jason Carter tell us about Huckleberry Graham’s call to the Secretary of State about verifying signatures on election ballots...OK, two questions 1) Why the hell does Graham care about GA? Oh, because of control of the U.S. Senate...riiiiight...and 2) Why would you be asking about signatures on ballots unless you were trying to find a way to throw out those ballots?
I sincerely hope the incoming Biden AG takes a look into this, but to be honest, I’m not holding my breath (and this update tells us that Mango Mussolini basically depressed the turnout of his base in that state by talking smack about mail-in voting...heh)...
...and kudos to Ned Staebler who called out Monica Palmer and William Hartmann here for originally refusing to certify the results of the recent election in Wayne County, Michigan, including Detroit which is predominantly African American of course (and gee, Hartmann’s Facebook page sure is interesting, isn’t it? Brian Tyler Cohen explains)...
...and happy belated 90th birthday to composer David Amram, who gave us the score for the 1962 version of “The Manchurian Candidate” among his many other accomplishments...time once more for a bit of culture.

Tuesday Stuff
Thom Hartmann tells us about the nurse in South Dakota who tells us that there are people who somehow still don’t believe that COVID-19 is a threat to them (more on this brave individual, who I’m sure will now be hounded and persecuted to speaking truth to stoo-pid..and I’d love to be wrong about that...is here...oh, and speaking of South Dakota and stoo-pid, I give you this)...
...and Brian Tyler Cohen tells us what that idiot Scott Atlas has been telling us about ‘rona – we’re going to have to deal with the deadly idiocy of the Trumpsters to the bitter end next January, won’t we? Love and kisses to the approximately 70 million POS’s who are allowing this to happen (I can tell Biden is going out of his way to reach out to some Repugs, which is smart, and I hope it buys him something, but to be honest I'm not hopeful)...
...and Lawrence O’Donnell really let Emily Murphy of the GSA have it last night over her failure to help the incoming Biden-Harris team with the transition...
...and Ali Velshi brings us “a tale of two lines”...and in another dumb edit to an MSNBC video, we don’t get to see the discussion Velshi had with economic advisor Jared Bernstein...and boy is Biden ever right about the HEROES Act...
...and Farron Cousins tells us that the incoming Biden Administration is considering an office of climate change in the White House (I think Cousins is absolutely wrong on John Kerry – who was pivotal in the Paris Climate Accords for this country – though I will cede Cousins’ point about a scientist being better for the job...I’m hearing this guy’s name being floated, which is interesting, and I agree with Cousins that John Podesta really shouldn’t be in the running either – a guy who got tricked by a phishing scam into compromising the online presence of the Hillary Clinton campaign is definitely the wrong fit for this role IMHO)...
...and I thought this was an interesting “Damage Report” clip with John and Dave Levinthal on why the Gropenfuhrer is still trying to raise $$$...
...and speaking of the Gropenfuhrer, K.O. makes a good argument here I believe as to why he should be banned from Twitter (mildly NSFW/H – more here)...
...and RIP Lynn Kellogg, who starred in the original production of “Hair” and sang the tune in this clip that of course became a hit for Three Dog Night...apparently she had been diagnosed with a non-life threatening form of leukemia...making her more susceptible to you-know-what...and recently appeared in Branson, MO, at an event where people weren’t masked, and I’m sure you can guess what happened next, tragically (see pic at the top of this post again).

Monday Stuff
(And I actually saw a tweet from a well-meaning person I respect asking if we should forgive Trump...heh).
This video from MSNBC tells us about the “million moron march” last Saturday in D.C.- OK, so the election was rigged supposedly, but not where Republicans won...uh huh...
..and this TYT clip with Ana and Ben Dixon tells us that the Trump kids are apparently split on whether or not 45 should act like an adult at long last and acknowledge the reality that HE'S A LOSER (again, while I cede Ana’s point that Russia probably didn’t alter vote counts in the 2016 election...but since our auditing is so spotty overall, we never really will know, will we?...there was a hell of a lot that they did do with the Repugs to float garbage in social media, as well as prop up that fraud Jill Stein, so yeah, from that angle, the Dems were right to harp on it)...
...and David Doel tells us that the head of the NYC sergeants union is mad about AOC listening to her constituents (typical misogynist condescension from this a-hole Ed Mullins – more here...oh, and not that I would expect Fix Noise to be accurate in any way, but I didn’t actually hear the words “defund the police” from AOC herself, despite their “reporting”)...
...and this Meidas Touch ad really “brings the receipts” on incumbent Repug U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler of Georgia (to help Raphael Warnock running against Loeffler in one of the 2 GA special elections, click here...shocking to agree with "wine Karen Pirro," but I guess that stopped clock realy is correct twice a day)...
...and Chris Hayes speaks here with Jon Ossoff, running against that chicken David Perdue in the other GA special election (and yeah, not to rain on Ossoff’s parade or anything – his point are all well made – but this runoff is happening also because the libertarian candidate in the race kept Perdue from getting to 50% of the vote...to help Ossoff, click here)...
...and speaking of Georgia, last Tuesday marked what would have been the 70th birthday of Ronnie Hammond of the Atlanta Rhythm Section.

Saturday Stuff
I wonder how much our corporate media would be absolutely screaming for Joe Biden to concede to Mango Mussolini if, tragically, last Tuesday’s results had gone the opposite way? Are they quiet on the subject because the Gropenfuhrer has the magic “R” after his name, and our fourth estate cousins like that?...
...and once again, I know what The Lincoln Project is, but their ads are good, and they’re absolutely right once more here (about Repugs McConnell, Perdue, Loeffler and McCarthy “putting America first”)...
...and this Really American clip brings the receipts, you might say, on Kelly Loeffler (to help Raphael Warnock in one of the two GA special runoff elections in January, click here)...
...and I honestly had not heard Sen. David Perdue’s deliberate mispronunciation of VP-elect Kamala Harris’s name before this clip, but yeah, it is indeed pretty gross, as Rachel Maddow tells us (to help Jon Ossoff in the other of the two GA special runoff elections in January, click here)...
...and boy, did Chris Hayes ever “find the nut” on this one; anybody who thinks Republicans will do ANYTHING except try to kneecap the incoming Biden/Harris administration any possibly way they can should pay attention to this clip (e.g., the Judy Shelton saga and the “loyal opposition” trying to “salt” everything – typically disgusting crap from Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao...I don’t want to imagine how twisted the life forms are who actually vote for this death eater, and I meant the current, and possibly future, Senate Majority Leader...again, to do something about that, click here to support Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in the Georgia runoff elections in January...and gee, wasn't Lisa Murkowski supposed to be an actual grownup in "the world's greatest deliberative body" as noted here?)...
...and here’s a relatively newer, bluesy tune from this century – enjoy.

Friday Stuff
John Iadarola and Aida Rodriguez tell us that Our Treasonous, Tiny-Handed Russian Operative in An Oval Office is now pissed off at his own media channel (and making noises like he wants to start his own network) over the result of the presidential election (“The people who put down others for the participation ribbon are now crying for a participation ribbon”...uh, yep...and that Scott Baio anecdote with the mugs is pretty much beyond belief, even for this bunch)...
...and one of the biggest targets for Mango Mussolini apparently is Al Schmidt, who 45 has been going after for alleged election fraud, or something, though of course those ridiculous claims absolutely disintegrate when held up to serious scrutiny, as noted here (Brian Tyler Cohen explains)...
...and Thom Hartmann tells us that Georgia is pushing for a statewide hand recount...sure, go ahead and lose all over again (I like Thom’s “national vote” clarification vs. “popular vote”...have to read up more on what Hartmann proposes at the end – the “interstate compact” I believe...damn, I don't even want to imagine the 2024 election!)...
...and good for that radical socialist (joke) Bernie Sanders for calling out Our Soon-To-Be-Former Orange Pustule-In-Chief (Now This)...
...and Kyle tells us that 72 percent of those polled on Fix Noise want government-run health care...no, I definitely don’t think The Roger Ailes BS Factory saw that coming either (and I wish I could argue with Kyle on his assessment on congressional Democrats, but I can’t at this moment, except to point out that I don’t believe every single progressive won, but I’d have to do more research on that – comparing to FDR is a little unfair, but I agree with Kyle’s general commentary on that – a lot of groups helped Biden win to varying degrees, and yes, that includes some crossover Republicans too – I honestly don’t know if Bernie Sanders would have been able to pull off what Biden did, and I don’t say that lightly because I supported Sanders...criticism of Pelosi is fair, and Chuck Schumer is as good at running political campaigns as his niece is at telling jokes...or whatever the hell Amy Schumer is)...
...and Ali Velshi tells us that it sounds like the Repugs are still trying to keep their lame-brained followers all ginned up for the two Georgia runoffs, and that’s part of the reason for not publicly supporting the Biden win (to help Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, click here)...
...though of course (as Ana and Cenk tell us) that doesn’t excuse the fact that only 4 Repug senators have straight-up acknowledged the Biden win and the rest are saying Trump still has a shot, and the percentage is close to that for Republican governors also...Cenk’s outrage at the end is totally justified IMHO...
...and I know that, on previous Fridays the 13th (I think that's the correct plural), I've included "Born Under A Bad Sign," but I thought I'd give that a break this time and include this number with the first clip in mind.

Thursday Stuff
Lawrence O’Donnell gave us a nice commentary last night about the silence of the Gropenfuhrer in response to the election...gosh, you mean we haven’t been subjected to any tweet storms recently? What a blessing indeed (and yes, Ron Klain is an outstanding choice for Chief of Staff, as much as my opinion matters in this stuff I know)...
...and Brian Tyler Cohen tells us what President-Elect Biden had to say in response to whether or not he intends to pursue his own legal action, which, as far as I’m concerned, is an utterly ridiculous question...our corporate media is going to have to make the adjustment to treating a presidential administration like responsible adults again, and I wonder if they’re up for the challenge?...
...and Ali Velshi brought us a great report last night on the new Native American Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. (and by the way, Native Americans delivered Arizona for the Dems, let’s not forget, as noted here – Velshi is sitting in for Rachel Maddow who apparently is in quarantine; all the best for a speedy recovery...11/3 was most definitely a bright spot in the presidential election, but otherwise, the slog of 2020 trudges on)...
...and happy 75th birthday to Neil Young – I know I included one of his tunes last week for a good reason, but here are two more for the occasion.

Wednesday Stuff
John and Francesca give us the latest on Generalissimo Trump’s hissy fit over the recent election results (Loser! Pathetic! Sad!). Oh, and here’s perhaps the best:
...and TYT gives us “In Memoriam: The Trump Presidency”...
...and K.O. leads in here with remarks from that self-important baboon Mike Pompeo basically not accepting the results of the recent presidential election and then discusses all the federal dollars that blue states send to red states...personally, I think states receiving an excess of federal dollars over what they generate (Kentucky, South Carolina, etc.) should have to pay a hefty fee, and the money could be used (in part) to help upgrade our national infrastructure at long last...
...and I now give you the latest installment of “This Day In Dommsy History” (more or less) from 11/8/16, in which Bill Maher (when he used to actually be funny) points out the typically stupid contradiction of so-called “fundamentalist Christians” supporting someone like Soon-To-Be-Departing #45 (interesting also in light of this)...
...and Sam Seder talks with Benjamin Dixon about the two Georgia runoffs in January (to help, click here and here) – yes, there are built-in Repug advantages here, but it will also be an all-out fight also, and we need to “leave it all in the road”...
...and David Pakman tells us that President-elect Biden is getting ready to launch a parallel coronavirus task force (and yeah, get ready for the concern trolling on the deficit also)...
...and I thought this was a nice welcome for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris from German Chancellor Angela Merkel...
This video of Chancellor Merkel congratulating @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris is worth your time. Merkel talks about German history, the role of the United States and much more. Take a look:pic.twitter.com/6t7pEYgVOZ
— Marcel Dirsus (@marceldirsus) November 9, 2020
...and in light of Veterans Day, I thought I'd present this tune (also, when Republicans contest absentee ballots, they hsouldn't forget this, and I thought this was timely also).

Monday Stuff
As I noted on Halloween, this utterly ridiculous sign appeared at the intersection of Route 332 and Stony Hill Road in these parts recently, before Election Day of course. Well, given that world leaders have been calling President-Elect Joe Biden to congratulate him and incoming (and history making) veep Kamala Harris, you would think Xi Jinping would be one of the first people to offer best wishes. However, he apparently hasn't (along with Putin of course, which isn't surprising as you can guess, as noted here)...with Chinese media expressing "cautious optimism" instead.
Weird, huh?
And speaking of weird, it looks like the “mayor of 9/11” recently held a press conference next to Four Seasons Landscaping off State Road in Philly announcing that the Trumpsters will contest the election results...truly, you can’t make this stuff up (more here and here).
And just remember, boys and girls, “Networks don’t get to decide elections. Courts do.” (interesting comment in light of this)...
Update: Just no words, people...
...and Farron Cousins tells us how Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao will continue to do his obstructionist number for as long as humanly possible (though I would always dispute McConnell’s alleged humanity, to be honest – to help Jon Ossoff, click here, and to help Raphael Warnock, click here; both are Dems running in Georgia’s special elections on 1/5/21...electing them is the only shot we have at stopping McConnell)...
...and Cenk and Ana of TYT tell us about Dem U.S. House Rep Ilhan Omar’s response to the remarks from Generalissimo Trump about her and her home state of Minnesota...“I guess he F’d around and found out.” - nice...I’m sure this will prompt a whole other round of wingnut garbage about Omar allegedly marrying her brother (here)...great last 2 minutes or so from Cenk...
...and is it my imagination, or is Pat Robertson slowly turning into Gollum, with Robertson predicting a Trump win, as he did previously with Willard Mitt Romney (mildly NSFW/H)...
...and with the prior clip in particular in mind (and the first one too, I suppose), do you want to know what the rest of the world thinks of how we vote in this country? Well, I think this gives you some idea (and yes, Dems have gerrymandered, but Repugs did it on steroids in 2010 with Project Redmap...NOBODY SHOULD DO IT!).
And hell, I’d even take a “Democracy Big Mac,” but a sausage is good too...
...and given the clip from The Guardian, I couldn’t resist adding this tune.

Sunday Stuff
(I should note that I expect to be gradually cutting back on the Trump memes, which I'm happy to do given the most recent presidential win for Biden/Harris.)
Brian Tyler Cohen tells us here about Generalissimo Trump bitching about the ballot counting in the recently-completed presidential election, to the point where even the Fix Noise reporter calls out the anchor on it (I realize this issue is pretty settled, but I’m sure this charge will be resurrected for the lawsuits which I’m sure will be ongoing...and not surprisingly, Hunter of Daily Kos nails it here)...
...and John I. and Jayar of “The Damage Report” tell us that “the squad” doubled as a result of the 2020 contests, which of course is good news...
...but what isn’t good of course is the fact that our corporate media is taking EXACTLY THE WRONG LESSON from what just happened; I hate to break the news to anybody, but except for Biden and results noted above (and outliers like Mark Kelly and Hickenlooper, as well as some ballot measures), there really isn’t a hell of a lot to take comfort from if you’re a Democrat...yes, it took a broad coalition to boot Our Orange Pustule from office (which is the prize we needed to win of course), and good luck trying to keep that coalition together going forward, but as I tried to emphasize here also, we have to be about economic populism first and foremost...I actually think that’s some of what Claire McCaskill tried to communicate, albeit in an incredibly stupid way (and invoking “coastal elites”...really resisting an urge to throw my TV out the window in the general direction of Missouri), and one could legitimately ask WHY THE HELL SHE DIDN’T CAMPAIGN ON THAT WHEN SHE WAS SENATOR OF THAT STATE!!!
(Oh, and Brian Williams tells Michael Steele, of all people, he can take a “victory lap.” Pardon me while I gag! Do you know who’s entitled to take a “victory lap” for real? Some of the people mentioned here (90-something percent turnout in Detroit, with Rashida Tlaib, people!...as well as tribal Native American support in Arizona). Also, people like Conor Lamb and Abigail Spanberger have to resist getting their shorts in a knot when the “socialism” charge is thrown at them. Republicans have been playing that stupid game for 70 years! Haven’t you figured out that that’s code for rewarding the well-off and stabbing everybody else in the back? Why are you still playing that nonsense with them? I will admit once more, though, that “defund the police” is stoo-pid on so many levels as a slogan.)
It might be a good idea to remind some “chicken little” Democrats why they ended up in the U.S. House majority in the first place two years ago. The first issue was protecting the ACA which was (and still is) under continual Republican attack. The second was that horrible December 2017 tax bill that rewarded the one percent...again...and blew up the deficit...again. So yeah, Democrats, you have NO CHOICE but to run on economic issues as opposed to “values” nonsense (and yeah, once more, I know what The Lincoln Project is, but they did good work with their ads)...
...and some of what Cenk and Ana said above is echoed here by Sam Seder and Emma Vigeland, who is a bit of negative Cassandra at times I’ll admit, though she’s ostensibly right; it’s going to take imagination and strategy to craft an economically populist message in swing districts, but as far as I’m concerned, if you’re even somewhat competent as a Democrat, you should be able to pull that off...or, if you need help, try reaching out to AOC, as noted here (behind the NYT pay wall)...
...still, though, I think we’re allowed to take a bit of a breather and celebrate (here)...
Update 11/9/20: Granted the bar is set really low here, but credit to Dubya where it's due (here).
...and why not do so with this tune?
Brian Tyler Cohen tells us here about Generalissimo Trump bitching about the ballot counting in the recently-completed presidential election, to the point where even the Fix Noise reporter calls out the anchor on it (I realize this issue is pretty settled, but I’m sure this charge will be resurrected for the lawsuits which I’m sure will be ongoing...and not surprisingly, Hunter of Daily Kos nails it here)...

Saturday Stuff
(By the way, my admittedly long-winded, boring meta post about the 2020 election can be accessed from here.)
John I. and Brett Erlich are here to tell us that Fix and Fiends finally “got the memo” on Soon-To-Be-Departing President Fergus Laing (and by the way, CNN just made it official for Biden/Harris)...
...and as this Now This clip tells us, Our Orange Pustule-In-Chief is going to indeed try to “burn it all down” – interesting to me that NOW, AT LONG LAST, our corporate media has no problem calling Generalissimo Trump a liar...
...and David Doel tells us about ballot measures that passed across the country last Tuesday (I think Oregon went a little far on making all drugs legal, to tell you the truth, but if it leads to fewer people in jail for non-violent offenses, then I can see that)...
...and The Lincoln Project continues to step up with their great ads (to help Jon Ossoff in one of the two upcoming Georgia runoff elections for control of the U.S. Senate, click here)...
...and with everything else going on, I neglected to mention this beyond-ridiculous campaign ad from Kelly Loeffler during the last election cycle; truly hard to find the words for this kind of stupidity (to help her opponent in the second upcoming Georgia runoff – and that would be Raphael Warnock – click here...Ossoff and Warnock should do an ad together and tell everyone they want to take control away from Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao to help people get help related to impacts from COVID-19, which McConnell will NEVER allow)...
...and the day of Number 45's inaugural, I put up this video - in addition to the incredibly apt title (and yes, I know the song is about a crippled young girl who wants to be loved and experience what others her age experience also), I'm bringing it back here as sort of a "bookend," if you will, for the ruinous presidency of Mango Mussolini...and no, I haven't forgotten he's a lame duck who could do even further damage in his childish rage...may require greater vigilance than ever now (this video was also featured in one of the funniest Beavis and Butt-Head segments of all time, IMHO).

Friday Stuff
David Doel explains here why the 2020 presidential race is effectively over; it sounds like the AP got burned a bit for calling the Arizona vote a little early, so that’s why they’re all waiting until the very last minute now, and I’m fine with that (with the AZ call raising the ire of the Trump gang, which is less and less of a concern with each passing second, happily)...
...and yeah, this is pretty damn hilarious – David Pakman tells about the Gropenfuhrer’s alleged spiritual counselor Paula White trying to cast some kind of a spell to turn electoral defeat into victory...yeah, you just keep trying that and let me know if it works somehow, OK?...
...and John Iadarola and Brett Erlich tells us that there will be 2 runoff U.S. Senate contests in Georgia coming up next January; I can’t stomach the thought of ANOTHER election any time soon, but it’s nice that we have a shot, however slim, of denying the Senate to “The Grim Reaper” (more here...to help, click here)...
...and this Now This clip tells us that African American support may have slightly increased for Our-Soon-To-Be-Departing Orange Pustule-In-Chief, though apparently the data is in dispute somewhat (great ideas about improving voting in this country, and I would add a federal motor-voter law with immediate voting registration when you register for a driver’s license)...
...and speaking of Arizona, I now give you the latest installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” (more or less) from 11/5/08; what follows is the concession speech from Republican U.S. Senator (and war hero of course) John McCain after his presidential loss to Barack Obama; I don’t believe you will EVER see such class epitomized by a member of his party in a similar circumstance again (love to be wrong, but I’m not holding my breath)...
...and at some point soon, I'm going to come up with an admittedly long, boring meta post on the 2020 election, but I'm holding off for now because some stuff hasn't been decided yet (or at least, not been officially pronounced). However, there is ONE contest where I can speak my mind for sure, and it has to do with Alabama. And I have a special message for everyone who had anything to do with sending Tommy Tuberville to the U.S. Senate (someone who, aside from Trump himself, might be the furthest removed from John McCain in terms of courage, character and intelllect as anyone from his party); do you seriously know what you fools have just done?
Yeah, yeah, I know the odds were very long against Dem incumbent Doug Jones, who won a special election because even Roy Moore hanging out in shopping malls in pursuit of teenage girls a third of his age was too much for you. But I think I should familiarize you with the guy who soon will step down, after serving commendably, since apparently (for some reason) his story is unfamiliar to you.
As noted here, before elected to the Senate, he served as a federal prosecutor; his most successful cases involved obtaining guilty verdicts for two Ku Klux Klan members accused in the 1963 Birmingham church bombing that killed four African-American girls. Jones also secured the indictment of domestic terrorist Eric Rudolph, convicted for a series of anti-abortion and anti-gay-motivated bombings across the southern United States between 1996 and 1998, which killed three people and injured 150 others, including the Centennial Olympic Park bombing at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
THAT is the guy you just effectively fired, you meat heads! And in his place, you elected a college football coach notably infamous for quitting on his teams and who didn't even know what the Voting Rights Act was (here).
So this goes out to all of you "Cotton State" knuckle draggers. Prepare to reap the whirlwind of your monstrous ignorance for the next six long years (sorry, no Lynyrd Skynyrd today - actually, I'm NOT sorry).
Update 11/8/20: Just add this to the pile - sigh.
Update 11/13/20: So far beyond an embarrassment (here) - I have a feeling there will be A LOT of updates.

Thursday Stuff
I genuinely wish our basically clueless corporate media could give us a “hot take” as smart and to the point as this one from our friends "across the pond"...
Watch this outstanding summary of what's going in the U.S. election by BBC journalist Ros Atkins. Sometimes you need to see "us" through another's eyes to understand where we are. It's only 45 seconds. https://t.co/DRVNZzmx6k
— Jay Rosen (@jayrosen_nyu) November 5, 2020
...and I would say that allegedly America-hating socialist (definitely snark on that one) was pretty damn prescient here (and make no mistake that, had Our Orange Pestilence had a lead, he would have appealed right to the SCOTUS to try and get Roberts, "I Like Beer" Kavanaugh and the "Christian Handmaiden" to try and certify the results immediately)...
...and this Damage Report clip tells us about somebody named Harlan Z. Hill who’s apparently crying like a little bitch over the impending presidential loss of the Gropenfuhrer, though it isn’t all said and done yet of course (dude, you SERIOUSLY think you’re going to start something in Philly? You’ll get carried out tits up if you do.)...
...and this Thom Hartmann clip might be the best discussion I’ve heard yet on how poorer working-class people and up voting against their own economic self-interest...and I and others smarter than your humble narrator have pointed out, this was accelerated by the Democratic Party, for the most part, blowing off working class voters...and God almighty, am I SICK AND TIRED of the one percent holding this country hostage over their stinking tax cuts!...
...and K.O. gives us his take on the latest developments (and sorry, but contemplating Olbermann dancing with Michael Moore is genuinely disturbing...nice job to finish with a sports anecdote, however)...
...and no, I'm not recommending that anyone blow anything up, but I'm just pointing out that today is Guy Fawkes Day (something to note in the U.K. given the first clip).

Wednesday Stuff
("But only if I'm winning, of course!").
I’m definitely not an expert on elections, and for sure I'm not an expert on an election like this, but from what I read, Biden has more chances to win at this point than Trump does, though it’s still possible for either one (and over the next few days, for what it’s worth, I’ll share more thoughts on why this election was so damn close...a big part of this is the power of incumbency, even for Mango Mussolini).
Turning to the videos... yeah, before we decide to give kudos to Wal-of-China Mart for supposedly curtailing their gun sales, let’s take a closer look at the stoo-pid lip service behind this gesture (yeah, we’ll still sell the damn guns, but they’ll supposedly be out of sight...uh huh – Ana and Jayar discuss)...
...oh, and by the way, Dems, stop running away from people like this gentleman when you’re campaigning (and boy, am I ever looking at THIS GUY when I say that!) – you may still lose, but at least you’ll do it for the right reasons...
...and speaking of losing for the right reasons, David Doel brings us this ad from Marquita Bradshaw, who ran as a Dem for the U.S. Senate from Tennessee, and yeah, she was pretty much defeated by the polling margin in the video, but Bradshaw’s message is one that should be carried forward by all future Dem politicians running for elected office (and before anybody gets too snarky about this, I should point out that Bradshaw beat fellow Dem (and decorated Iraq War veteran) James Mackler in the spring primary, a guy who was pretty much anointed for the spot by that alleged Dem political genius Chuck Schumer, even though Mackler’s service is commendable of course – and I expect that I’ll have a lot more to say about Schumer in the coming days, along with the fact that Amy McGrath, who was ALSO pretty much a Schumer protΓ©gΓ© (and decorated veteran with commendable service), got clobbered by Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao decisively also)...
...and at this moment, what other tune could there be to include but this one?

Tuesday Stuff
Yeah, I know what The Lincoln Project is, but damn, their ads are good (and nice job by “Use The Force, Luke,” here - more here)...
...and there is indeed NEVER an excuse for complacency, but somehow I think that, if you’re reading this, we already know that...
...and I now give you the latest installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” (more or less) from 11/5/16, with a segment of “The Closer” by K.O. – just a bit of foreshadowing here I must say (and damn, do we miss Wayne Barrett)...
...and Farron Cousins tells us about a recent Huffpo report on boomers and Facebook spreading misinformation...mea maxima culpa in terms of my demographic (and for this)...
...and this clip from The Majority Report tells us about a trailer park landlord in Colorado who says he’s going to double everyone’s rent if Biden wins (yeah, and during the pandemic – nice job...mildly NSFW/H...and even though Matt and Jamie go off on a bit of a tangent here at the end aimed at Dems IMHO, to me, this is yet another example of our side having to pay more attention to poor working class voters, as the Rev. William Barber, among others, has pointed out)...
...and I thought now was as good a time as any to bring back this great update to the 1964 ad by Bill Bogert against Barry Goldwater, this time reinterpreted for Our Orange Pestilence...
...and to support Christina Finello, running to unseat Bri-Fi in the PA-01 U.S. House contest, please click here (and by the way, ignore Bri-Fi’s typical lying garbage about Finello supposedly wanting to “defund the police,” which she most definitely does NOT want to do – so many reasons why that slogan is a stinking dead dog despite its good intentions, and I’m sure you’re smart enough to know what the “release violent criminals” charge is also) – in addition, click here for one last time to support Dems running for the U.S. Senate, and click here (for PA-31 folks) to keep Perry Warren in Harrisburg...
...and there’s still work to do of course, but I honestly believe we're closer to the end of this nightmare than the beginning...I'm hearing the in-person turnout is outstanding; wonderful...we need to keep it up!

Monday Stuff
As far as I’m concerned, this will define the first – and, God willing, ONLY – term of the utterly ruinous reign of Mango Mussolini (more context is here)...
Update: Speaking of the pandemic, I can't tell you how sad this is; I'm equal parts distraught and utterly enraged at this moment.
...and this is an abbreviated version of the lies of the Gropenfuhrer, because life is short and it would take waaay too long to try and categorize all of them...
...and here’s that supposedly godly man breaking commandments (more here and here)..
...and welcome to the party, Vaush - clip is very NSFW/H about the Trumpster motorcade of assclowns trying to run the Biden/Harris bus off the road in Texas (more on Kristallnacht is here)...
...and I thought this was a good video about these Qanon life forms (good advice – yes, it’s tiresome to deal with some of these characters, but non-ridicule and patient persuasion and forbearance, I believe also, will win the day ultimately)...
...which I admit isn’t easy when you looks at stories like this offering proof as to how racist many – but not all – Republicans truly are, and I know that goes for some Dems too (John and Jayar tell us about a poll where those belonging to the “party of Lincoln” say that black voters shouldn’t be able to protest)...
...and kudos to Joe Biden for helping Christina Finello, running for the PA-01 U.S. House seat currently occupied by Bri-Fi (to help Biden/Harris, click here; to help Finello, click here; to help Dems running for the U.S. Senate, click here; and to help Perry Warren, running for another term as the rep from PA-31, click here)...
...and I’m bringing back this selection which I used to put up from the days when Patrick Murphy was our U.S. House rep; I don’t think we need motivation to vote in person if we haven’t already voted by mail, but if it needs to be provided, I hope this tune gets the job done.

Sunday Stuff
This report from Sky News tells us of the pro-Biden and pro-Trump protests in Florida, which, as far as I’m concerned, is a state that needs the U.N. to monitor its elections, which people smarter than I have already pointed out (and yeah, about a Biden-Harris supporter allegedly attacking a Trump supporter, I’m going to have to see proof for that one...and it looks like the Gropenfuhrer left his supporters out in the cold again as noted here)...
Update: I can't tell you how many times I've driven this bridge and will likely do so again in the future. And unless you've done so (and I know many have besides me), it's hard to truly describe how dangerous a stunt this is.
Arrest every single one of these fucking cretins responsible for this garbage.
Update 11/2/20: And it looks like Trumpsters got stranded again (here - sorry for the bad word above, but I'm kind of reaching my limit with this insanity).
...and while we all need to do what we can in these final three days, Rachel Maddow tells us we should take heart from the early polling numbers...
...and how dare an actual scientist double check on whether or not the NOAA should actually be studying, y’know...science (boy, is John right about all of the other stuff we could have done as opposed to wasting calories over Our Orange Pustule-In-Chief...commentary with Jayar Jackson also)...
...and to help Christina Finello, running to unseat Bri-Fi in PA-01 (who voted against the HEROES Act, let’s not forget), please click here (more here...and to help Dems running for the U.S. Senate, click here – and to help Perry Warren, running for another term as state rep in PA-31, click here)...
...and RIP Sir Sean Connery (here and here) – yeah I know what he said in the Barbara Walters interview, and that wasn’t cool, but he was also married for 45 years, so he must have done SOMETHING right as a husband...besides, I think his body of work can be appreciated aside from any personal stuff...hell, think of the people John Wayne sold out in the ‘50s, but I can still watch “The Searchers” and “True Grit” and admire his performances – this, as far as I’m concerned, is one of Connery's most iconic scenes from a truly great movie...his body of work, including "A Bridge Too Far," "The Man Who Would Be King" and "The Hunt for Red October," is truly stunning...
...and when all is said and done, I guess Connery will be identified mostly as the guy who created James Bond in the movies; to be honest, I never cared much about the Bond flicks when I was growing up (though the latest films with Daniel Craig are tremendous as far as I’m concerned)...the music from the Connery-era Bond films, though, was spectacular, including this tune.
