Brian Tyler Cohen tells us about the recent failed town hall with Harriet Hagerman in Wyoming...I knew Hagerman was truly awful (the rep in the U.S. House voted in because Generalissimo Trump decided to sic his flying monkeys on Liz Cheney), but you’d have to go a looong way to find someone more entitled than she is, talking down to her constituents like she did (here), wondering why they cared about government so much or something...and as I watch AOC with her completely spot-on commentary, it reinforces once more what a fraud and utter coward @RepBrianFitz is for refusing to come out of his hidey hole and meet the people who (foolishly) put him in office (along with the fact that Bri-Fi was also too chicken to debate Ashley Ehasz in the campaign last year)...



...and what King Elon and Bronzer Beelzebub would do to Medicaid/Medicare/Social Security was front and center in the above clip of course, and with that in mind, Rachel Maddow tells us about “an effort to break the agency” administering Medicare/Social Security...looks like Elmo and Combover Caligula are trying to “reform” the claims process by trying to get claimants to verify their identity over the internet or (more likely) go to a claims processing office, which would create volumes more red tape and slow down the claims process, which is completely by design of course (75K to 85K in-person visitors per week, huh? And of course people working in these field offices are getting let go, making this even more of a clusterf*ck...yeah, this isn’t the wingnut “wet dream” of drowning this entitlement in the metaphorical bathtub, huh? Not much it isn’t...and Judd Legum, to his credit, is on this stuff)...

...and returning to what’s going on in town halls, Sam and Emma of The Majority Report tell us that, apparently, there was a flare-up in Nebraska (and I get it that the Soros remark was tongue-in-cheek), with a lady talking about funding cuts to NIH to Repug rep Mike Flood, who of course is trying to tap dance as well as he can, though the crowd isn’t buying it...GREAT point by Sam that recessions follow on the heels of “balanced budgets” (and for this Flood guy to even utter the words “balanced budget” is an obscenity given that #47 and his minions want to extend those stinking 2017 tax cuts, which would add trillions to the debt...and one result of a search for “Kansas” and “Sam Brownback” is here)...



...and Ben Meiselas of the Meidas Touch Network informs us that it looks like “the land of the yellow rose” (and yeah, I think “laboratory of autocracy” fits, sadly) has had enough of #47 and President Elon, in particular when it comes to trying to gut the CHIPS Act...and it’s kind of telling to me also that our corporate media cousins aren’t giving all of this stuff the attention it deserves...I didn’t know that Texas delivered more wind energy than anyone else, but yeah, that’s even MORE of a reason to oppose this insanity from #47 (and of course, Cantaloupe Capone demonstrates that he doesn’t have the remotest idea of how wind energy really works, which shouldn’t be surprising)...and what a “godly” man this Robert Morris character is, another Trumpist lickspittle who’s been accused of child sex abuse (and to support Isaiah Martin, click here)...



...and Alec Opperman of More Perfect Union brings us the story of an auto dealer (allegedly) shutting off a vehicle when someone was driving because of a remote engine “kill switch” – a lady named Victoria Carter was driving with her kids in June of ‘21 when this took place...the clip profiles lawyer Lindsey Siegel, who was fired from the CFPB; Siegel was working on a case involving an outfit called USAuto Sales, which apparently is a loan servicer to low-income folks needing a vehicle to get to work and get their kids to and from school and for other needs; apparently, the vehicles were shut off using something called a starter interruption device when it appeared that loan repayment was due, and this appears to have happened while the vehicles were being driven on roads, highways, etc...well, the CFPB won a $32 million judgment against USAuto Sales, but because the CFPB was gutted by DOGE, it appears that the $$ may not get paid out...un-freaking believable (well, not really I guess, given this bunch in power now)...

...and Jesse Dollemore brings us the story of “five dipsh*ts,” as he correctly IMO puts it, in Minnesota introducing a bill having to do with “Trump Derangement Syndrome”..these knuckleheads are Eric Lucero, Steve Drazkowski, Nathan Wesenberg, Justin Eichorn, and Glenn Gruenhagen, and a particularly disgusting update on Eichorn is here (why do I have a feeling that these guys would be in a remake of “Fargo” by the Coen Brothers?)...mildly NSFW/H...



...and Chris Hayes lets us know about “a dawning awareness that it’s time to fight back”...Hayes quite rightly takes "Leader" Schumer and the other 9 turncoat U.S. Senate Dems to task over voting for the “filthy” CR allowing Elmo and Bronzer Beelzebub to continue wrecking our government...and Hayes is right; the bulwark against fascism for sure is us...and I’d truly like to tell Pam Bondi what I think of her, but I don’t want these posts to get too virulent, as tempting as it is to do that; maybe I’ll just link to this instead (Hayes speaks with Faiz Shakir and Rebecca Traister...GREAT point by Shakir that there was basically no negotiation In Schumer’s cave-in, and Traister really nailed it in talking about the risks that the protestors are bravely taking on)...

I know this clip from Chris Hayes is a few days old, and I honestly was hoping it wouldn’t be applicable any more, but sadly it is based on this...video has to do with the push back against King Elon and Bronzer Beelzebub by state attorneys general and those protesting at town halls...and yeah, it sure would be nice if those in congressional “leadership” on the “D” team would join us, but alas, we have small people in these roles requiring outsized efforts, and I don’t want to hear “oh, we don’t have majorities, so there’s nothing we can do” (and that alleged Dem centrist criticizing Al Green is a gutless coward for not going on the record...my money as to who’s responsible would be Jared Golden or Marie Gluesenkamp Perez...”now is the time for trying things” indeed)...



...and Rachel Maddow lets us know that Dems in the House apparently attempted to cast a vote to make The Gropenfuhrer get rid of his beyond-ridiculous tariffs wrecking our economy, as a bit of a show of resistance (a bit, speaking of "trying things"), but of course, “MAGA Mike” Johnson apparently caved on that, declaring the rest of the congressional session as “one long day” to keep Dems from introducing a resolution forcing a vote on the emergency (so basically, Johnson, Thune and that bunch in Congress are asking #47 if he likes it missionary or doggie style...yeah, there I go as a filthy, unkempt liberal blogger again)...



...well, at least one Dem is meeting the moment, and that would be U.S. House Rep John Larson of Connecticut, who takes off the metaphorical gloves when it comes to the "party of Lincoln" and privatization of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid...this has indeed been the plan of movement conservative ideologues going back at least to The Sainted Ronnie R (Jesse Dollemore tells us about it)...



...and as I’ve said before, I know what The Lincoln Project is, but they continues to step up with these great clips, as opposed to the “leadership” of that political party whose name begins with a “D” and can’t seem to figure out how to respond to the madness that surrounds us (NSFW/H)...



...and we recently lost another Dem fighter in Congress, and that would be Raul Grijalva of Arizona; here he is railing against Combover Caligula’s family separation policy...as usual, Cantaloupe Capone refused to take heed; this item has to do with the deportation of a little girl with brain cancer (at least she was kept with her family, and if that isn’t looking hard for a silver lining, I don’t know what is...yep, apparently it was too much to care for this child since we’re the richest country in the world – couldn’t monetize her suffering I guess, so she had to go)...

Mike Figueredo of The Humanist Report brings us the sorry tale of wingnuts seething (especially those on Fix Noise) over King Elon getting protested at Tesla dealerships...and I reluctantly have to agree with Figueredo that, since we already have those beyond-ridiculous anti-BDS laws in 38 states criminalizing free speech, as well as laws against peaceful protest generally, I can definitely see that getting extended to save Elmo’s sorry ass here...and yep, it indeed does look like the “f*ck your feelings” crowd were the biggest snowflakes all along...and Figueredo is also correct to point out how “disgustingly corrupt” it is for the POTUS to be hawking autos for his biggest sugar daddy (and yet again, I ask what the reaction would be if a Dem actually did this...that person would be vilified every way possible, and that would be correct)...and I guess Stuart Varney gets a pass he shouldn’t because he’s a Brit? I could never quite figure that out...and no, I definitely don’t encourage violence either, but seriously, what the hell else can you expect when the world’s richest man decides to obliterate our federal government which is relied upon by millions in this country? And spoiler alert for Elmo...undocumented immigrants do pay into Social Security, with little hope of seeing any of that ever returned to them as noted here (NSFW/H)...

...and as David Pakman reminds us, Cantaloupe Capone has taken our economy from boom to bust in only 35 days, which must be some kind of a record, albeit an infamous one...

...and today is the 100th anniversary of the passing of the so-called “Butler Act” in Tennessee (here), which made it illegal to teach evolution in schools (and which led to the also-infamous “Scopes Monkey Trial” later the same year)...and for anybody out there thinking, “Oh, that’s a relic of the past! We’ve moved beyond that!,” I would only add that anti-science in this country has flourished again, unfortunately, when it comes to overturning Roe, attacking those with gender dysphoria seeking to transition, opposing immunizations/vaccinations, etc., and as far as I’m concerned, it all leads back to opposing evolution (I’ve put up that clip of Spencer Tracy in “Inherit The Wind” railing about fanaticism and ignorance enough times; that great production was based on the Scopes trial of course).

...and I suppose attention must be paid to the “Not SOTU” last night from Our Demented Orange Toddler of a *president (ugh)...”fix prices on day one, including eggs, which Biden is responsible for, not me”...God almighty, how pathetic! And oh yeah, the “unelected bureaucrats” who keep us all safe – the ones King Elon is kicking to the curb, as noted in the prior clip...”lots of things with the Panama Canal and a couple of other canals”...anybody have an idea what planet this guy lives on? And yeah, I have a feeling “little Marco” is wondering why the hell he gave up his job in the U.S. Senate for this utter clusterf*ck of a *presidential “administration” based on that look at about 4:49...and yeah, promoting that little boy suffering from cancer who commendably wanted to be a cop while cutting funding for pediatric cancer research is par for the course with these cretins (more fact checking and context is here and here, including the “transgender mice” idiocy here...and Trumpette Alina Habba apparently said that our vets aren’t good enough for jobs here; I would speculate on the type of “job” Habba is good at, but I’d like to keep this content PG-rated, if you will)...

...and apparently the Gropenfuhrer is going to give a Not-Really-State-Of-The-Union-But-Yeah-Let’s-Pretend-It-Is address tonight, and Jesse Dollemore discusses putting pressure on Dems to stand up against fascism in response...and there aren’t too many in our establishment media I would take seriously at this point, but Jamelle Bouie is one of them...not that it matters one bit I realize, but here is what I’d do; I would have said publicly in advance that King Elon I should reinstate the employees he fired as a result of his DOGE purge and I would also say to Trump that DOGE needs to go completely, and if not, no Dems will not attend, which guarantees that Dems won’t attend because there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of our ruling cabal of treasonous demagogues actually backing down... actually, I think Ron Wyden is the only Dem handling this the right way as noted here...



...and oh look, another Repug is running and hiding from constituents, as Brian Tyler Cohen tells us, and this time it’s U.S. Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas, who decides to cut and run when asked a question about veterans’ benefits...yeah, all of those protesting at town halls are Dem ‘”crisis actors”; uh huh... just keep telling yourself that and watch what happens in the next election...and of course, since we’re talking about Repug wingnuttery, it’s almost a legal requirement to include Marjorie Trailer Park Greene (who, by the way, is also an employee of the federal government...what a moron)...and great job by MSNBC - I guess it was them - to include that clip of the fired federal employees...and yeah, the “Free Beacon” is such an objective news source...yeah – tell me when the spaceship lands, OK? ...and to point out just how crazy the “party of Lincoln” has become, David Pakman gives us some clips of Repugs refusing to admit that Russia invaded Ukraine...not just Trump SecDef Pete Hegseth, but this Mike Waltz character and of course Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma (I’m surprised Mullin didn’t take his coat off and threaten Kristen Welker, since that seems to be par for the course with him)...and I think Pakman is spot-on in saying that the wingnuts can’t say Russia started it because, if they did, then all of the Repug posturing over the war doesn’t make any sense (and it doesn’t anyway of course, but I’m talking here about spin and perception from the “R” team, not verifiable truth and reality...oh, and speaking of Hegseth, there is also this)...



...and I realize our august corporate media doesn’t care about the impact of the USAID cuts outside of our country, but fortunately the CBC from our neighbors to the north does, and they report on how Bronzer Beelzebub’s freeze has worsened suffering in the world’s largest refugee camp in Bangladesh, though, to be fair, funding has fallen off also from other nations as the report tells us (have to include this from a foreign source also because our domestic media won’t cover it for fear of offending Dear Orange Leader)...
