Friday Stuff

I thought this was a truly courageous moment by President Obama – you can tell it was good because the wingnuts totally lost their bloody minds (can hardly wait to see how that hack J.D. Mullane in the Bucks County Courier Times tries to spin this so he can accuse Obama of racism...I like that slogan we can try to use against the Repugs - "shut up and learn," assuming that's even possible)…

…and I’m not really presenting this for laughs, but only to make the obvious point that there was a time in this country when we invested in manufacturing, as well as schools, infrastructure, and working-class families – stop doing that and decide to give tax cuts to millionaires instead, and this happens…

…and I couldn’t let the week end without this clip from Lewis Black here in response to “Goodhair” Perry – NSFW (damn, this is awesome!)…

…and here is our regional weather forecast; we might get a break in the heat in these parts tomorrow.

An interesting opinion on the presidents commentary comes from Zimmermans brother who was baited by A Fox news host to criticize Obama. Not only did he say it was courageous and needed to be said he agreed that we have to have this discussion and in focusing on the youth today he included all young people not just young black males. I could agree with that considering the bleak future they are looking at with the country being controlled by the oligarchy. We have to find avenues to open for them. As for racism we do have to examine our own souls and try to agree perspective is personal. How do we understand their hurt unless we experience the same hurt. Like a widow who is told by someone still married..."I know how you feel"...NO you don't. The president has been the target of blatant racism, and all considered, he has been remarkable in his demeanor. Lets try to understand.
