Thursday Stuff

Hopefully back to more posting tomorrow – this is a recording, I know…

I think the Weiner thing is now officially too bizarre for words (or, as Atrios might put it, “the Weinis meets the Clenis”)…

…and today marks what would have been the 120th birthday of music legend Cole Porter; here is one of his most famous works (P.S., I also featured one of his tunes two nights ago...interesting guy who ended up living a life with a lot of tragedy).

...The Weiner episode is insane..I am angry at his stupidity to be doing this and not thinking it could be discovered. Maybe its a human frailty. I wonder how many others have done this and have yet to be caught. The hypocrisy never ends.
This blew the story of Clarence Thomas off the screen...and I wonder at the timing.

The people of NY will elect him mayor when he runs which was his intent.

Thanks for the Cole Porter song..think I will turn off the tv and put on some music. My brain is exhausted...need to escape the insanity for a few hours.

I wonder at the timing too. Part of me is suspicious that Breitbart and his ilk actually have something worse on him, though I hope not, because if they do, they won’t stop until Weiner resigns…can’t make deals with blackmailers anyway, particularly them.

Also, I’m glad to help with the Cole Porter thing…there was a real interesting “American Masters” program on him years ago, and what you came away with after watching is that, despite the sort of whimsical sophistication of his tunes, he was really a depressed and lonely guy – a shame that he couldn’t derive happiness out of the pleasure he provided for others.
