More Friday Stuff

We knew this day would come, as it will eventually for all of us (here), though it would have been better if it had come after November at a minimum, though that’s out of our hands of course; given the almost unending ruin of this year, though, it figures that it would play out this way.

Oh, and lest anyone have any doubt about how Generalissimo Trump and #midnightmoscowmitch are going to proceed, I give you this...raises the stakes for the White House and especially the Senate.

If Biden gets in and we get a Dem majority in "the world's greatest deliberative body," #packthedamncourt...

...oh, and in this video, Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao tells a Trumpian lie about how no Supreme Court nominee had been confirmed in a presidential election year in 80 years, or something...typical bullshit; this guy was confirmed in 1988 when Poppy Bush ran against Dukakis...and by the way, watch McConnell and Trump nominate a woman from The Federalist Society, and then of course there will be caterwauling from Fix Noise and the usual suspects to try and get the Dems to obey...

...and it's all Huckleberry Graham in this one...

Update 9/19/20: I see "Wine Karen" Pirro is at it again (here), as is the thoroughly monstrous Doug Collins of Georgia (here).

...and I don’t know how apropos this song is for this mournful occasion, but it’s been running around in my head for a little while, so here it is.

Friday Stuff

John I. and Ana on “The Damage Report” tell us that Trump AG and longtime Repug fixer Bill Barr wants to lock up Democratic politicians and protesters for “sedition,” and of course decrying the deterioration of our political dialogue at the same time (I’m sure Barr believes in this quote...and boy, is Anna ever right about our history at about 5:28...also, anybody who thinks at this point that Biden is a lock is dreaming; yeah, I wish he was too, but it’s going to be one big fight, and that recent Spanish cell phone idiocy isn't going to help one damn bit...Kyle K. has a video on it if you want to find out more)...

...and I’m sorry Oregon state senator Fred Girod lost his house in the fires, but as noted here, Girod was one of the Repug senators who walked out on a vote to take action against climate change (insert obligatory remark about karma here)...

...and speaking of Kyle, he tells us here that a Florida alligator gets better health care than Americans (hard to argue with that I’ll admit)...

...and as long as we're discussing health care, this Really American ad tells us that, basically, Repugs want our kids to die to build up “herd immunity” (utter monsters, all of them, as well as their supporters)...

...and this clip from David Doel tells us about Baby Newton Leroy Gingrich and his recent appearance on some piece of Fix Noise propaganda; I wouldn’t have said, “let’s not discuss George Soros,” but I would have told Gingrich to provide some evidence to support his claim...I thought this was some pretty good analysis from Doel, and Philly DA Larry Krasner has indeed been a “mixed bag” (I don’t know what the latest is on any appeals from this guy, but if Krasner devotes any resources to help it along, I’m going to scream all over the place, for what it’s worth)...

...and believe it or not, today is the 50th anniversary of the death of Jimi Hendrix.

Thursday Stuff

(I have to admit that I don't know anything about Patagonia, but I think they're definitely on the right track here - there is no mention of the "R" party, but they might as well be talking about them as far as I'm concerned.)

And now to the videos...did you hear the one about Generalissimo Trump using images of Russian soldiers and aircraft in a campaign ad? And after all this time, I’m sure you realize that this is no joke (though I wish it was)...

...and Sam and the crew from “The Majority Report” tells us about Dawn Wooten and her courageous interview with Chris Hayes...no excuse for private prisons, which is one of the many consequences of this as far as I’m concerned...the wingnuts have no problem invoking the monster Kermit Gosnell when it comes to abortion, but I’m sure they won’t breathe a syllable about Gosnell on this story, which to me would be appropriate to mention also...

...and proving once more that there truly is no bottom to the well of mendacity, deceit and lies from Our Orange Pustule-In-Chief, John and Ana tell us that Number 45 is blaming blue states for the COVID crisis...

...and speaking of our regularly scheduled plague, a doctor on CNN recently accused the Gropenfuhrer of negligent homicide for holding his recent indoor rally...

...and aren’t you glad there’s no longer racism when it comes to voting in this country, which was the explanation Hangin’ Judge JR used for gutting the Voting Rights Act – yes, I’m removing my tongue from my cheek here; David Pakman tells us about the latest nonsense in Georgia...

...and I guess this recent tune is a bit of a “palate cleanser” of sorts – hope it works for you also.

Tuesday Stuff

Kudos to Dr. Eric Burnett for speaking out in this Now This clip in which some self-entitled boomer thinks he knows more about COVID-19 than medical professionals – stoo-pid off the charts here, people (and not from Dr. Burnett of course...and speaking of science, I thought this was pretty cool)...

Update 9/16/20: I swear, I may never visit Florida again once this nightmare is FINALLY over...

...and I know I haven’t checked in on Seth Meyers in a little while for no particular reason, but he gives us a pretty comprehensive rundown here, including Mango Mussolini’s call for vigilantism in front of Jeanine Pirro who, shockingly, was actually sober here...

...and speaking of “lawless authoritarianism,” Nicolle Wallace talks about the latest Trumpian bottom feeder, this life form named Michael Caputo, who of course is trying hide the utterly wretched COVID-19 fatality numbers in this country (and God help us, but by the time I hit ENTER on this post, we may be at 200K)...

Update: We're there.

...and if there was ever a time for levity, I guess this would be it...kudos to Brett Erlich of TYT for this, though the last minute of this is very serious and spot-on (why ANY DEMOCRAT would actually be listening to Rahm f*cking Emanuel on ANYTHING is something I cannot imagine)...

...and this clip from Inequality Media tells us how racism is profitable when it comes to Life In These United States (with Solana Rice and Jeremie Greer...sorry to be unkind, but even though Greer's points are excellent, he definitely needs to work on his presentation skills)...

...and on the subject of oppressing people of another skin color, there is this (and yes, I know these people are yesterday’s and probably tomorrow’s Republicans, but they’re right...and when it comes to this, I’m sure Dr. Mengele would approve...I’m sure there will be more to come, including this)...

...and of all of the horrible clips involving this orange monster, this may be the very worst – it would almost be worth it for the Secret Service to do to me what they would do if I were to smack that putrid mango gargoyle across his ugly mug for that sideways smirk of his when the California official told him about the threat of climate change, as Brian Tyler Cohen explains...

...and on this day in 1970, former Vice President Spiro Agnew (who resigned as vice president after pleading no contest to a charge of tax evasion) said in a speech that the youth of America were being "brainwashed into a drug culture" by rock music, movies, books and underground newspapers...Agnew was actually mentioned in this song from that era, so I thought this selection was appropriate.

Monday Stuff

Farron Cousins tells us that congressional Repugs want the Gropenfuhrer to shut his pie hole about how corrupt mail-in voting supposedly is (and in a related item, to do something about Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao and his pals, click here)...

...and yep, I think this new Meidas Touch ad pretty much says it (here)...

...and Kyle tells us that, according to a recent NPR poll, the financial pain from the COVID-19 recession is "much, much worse than expected"...

...and what does Our Orange Pestilence have to offer in response? Well, nothing that’s actually any good of course...Emma Vigeland and Michael Shure tell us about 45’s incredibly racist (but completely unsurprising) ad...yeah, this stuff might work with a halfway decent economy and almost 200,000 Americans STILL ALIVE, but though the Dems can never rest on their laurels, I don’t see this working for anyone except the Trump “base” of course...

...and I’m not sure who this host is on “The Majority Report,” but this segment has to do with right-wing nutsos blaming Antifa for the West Coast fires (kind of tying into the previous campaign ad which, as Emma Vigeland quite rightly noted, is indeed utterly gross – good point at the end about police scanners...mildly NSFW/H)...

...and I agree with David Doel that these Biden campaign ads are effective – just keep beating Mango Mussolini over the head with COVID, since he owns it for sure – but to be honest, I’d like to see some more Dem policy in these spots, but I guess that’s just me...

...and I thought this was a pretty neat “Now This” clip with Dem U.S. Senator Gary Peters of Michigan, talking about alternative energy and being environmentally conscious, and creating good jobs, in his state; he’s in a scrap with this Trumpster/Republican empty suit named John James which is closer than it should be because of a lot of dark money in this race, so to help out Peters, please click here...

...and I think this is a catchy new tune – kinds of hits me where I live a bit too.
