Saturday Stuff

“Hackers, if you’re listening, you can make your way into the RNC web site in Wisconsin to totally mess with the Trump campaign”...oh wait, you mean you already did?

And yes, Farron Cousins is right that we need to improve our election security. But three guesses who has prevented any action on that, and the first two don’t count (here), as Cousins tells us (to do something about Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao, click here, and to help other Dems running for the U.S. Senate, click here)...

...and John I. and Brett Erlich of “The Damage Report” tell us about wingnuts losing their minds again over AOC’s recent Vanity Fair cover (truly, you can't make this stuff up because it's so bloody stoo-pid)...

...and I know I mentioned the Walter Wallace shooting in Philly earlier this week, but I probably should devote some more attention to it (mildly NSFW/H) – I still don’t like the “Defund the Police” line, but I also think David Doel and Marc Lamont Hill definitely make sense here too (i.e., criminalizing mental health issues)...

...and it looks like Billings, Montana is getting clobbered by COVID along with much of the rest of the Midwest (Godspeed, Joey Traywick)...

...and K.O. gives us the 50 Worst People of the Trump Administration (I gave Bobby Orr more credit – oh well; another legend bites the dust...I’m hearing that Mango Mussolini may actually be in my ‘hood today...did Olbermann get Alex Azar too? Not sure - I’ll double check later; if not, he should have...the Miami Dade stuff is scary, but not surprising - Florida needs the U.N. to monitor their elections)...

...and oh yeah, there’s no word so far on the cowards who came up with this sign at the intersection of Route 332 and Stony Hill Road in these parts – so many ways to refute this BS, but I’ll stick with just this one for starters (and here and here is more Trumpster garbage in Texas)...

...also, I agree with about 85-90 percent of what this man has to say, but kudos to him for speaking up (to help the campaign, click here)...

...and by the way, Happy Halloween, everybody.

Friday Stuff

This is the best video I’ve seen yet on the nightmare scenario of Our Orange Pustule-In-Chief trying to steal the election on November 3rd (more here and here)...

...and Lawrence O’Donnell speaks with Ari Berman about the pushback against voter suppression efforts...

...and at this point, is anybody still wondering why the Repugs wanted to get Amy “Coney Island Baby” Barrett installed on the SCOTUS? Given that Barrett, “I Like Beer” Kavanaugh and Roberts all worked for Dubya on the ’00 Florida recount (Sam Seder reports – at times like this in particular, I really miss Michael Brooks)...

...and Thom H. just cuts right to the proverbial chase IMHO here...not just a scary seasonal story sadly (and here is more evidence in support of his argument)...

...and man, did Jon Ossoff hand David Perdue his lunch, you could say, in that last debate (to help Ossoff, please click here)...

...and we’re all hoping the weather in these parts dries out a bit so the kids can hopefully have fun tomorrow evening – we’ll see.

Thursday Stuff

Yes, I definitely think what happened with the Trump supporters in Omaha was emblematic of this entire ruinous regime of crooks and lowlifes; I heard the buses took off because the drivers weren’t paid (gee, Generalissimo Trump actually stiffed somebody, againcolor me NOT shocked!).

That being said, I’m sorry people got sick and had to be take to the hospital, and I hope they’re OK...

...and this video from Inequality Media tells us just what we’re up against when it comes to the “party of Lincoln” and their efforts to gut voting rights in this country (more here)...

...and to help Dem U.S. Senator Doug Jones (running against that brainless clown Tommy Tuberville; this harks back to the prior clip somewhat – and yes, Jones indeed faces long odds unfortunately), please click here...

...and to help incumbent Dem U.S. Senator Gary Peters of Michigan (running against the DeVos/Trumpster sycophant John James), please click here...

...and to help Jeanne Shaheen, running for another term in the U.S. Senate from New Hampshire (and standing tall against the installation of conservative handmaiden Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court), please click here (and click here to support other Dems running for the Senate)...

...and to help Christina Finello, running to unseast Bri-Fi for the PA-01 U.S. House seat, please click here...

...and for folks in PA state district 31, please click here to support Perry Warren...

...and to help get everybody in the holiday spirit, I offer this tune.

Wednesday Stuff

Indeed, the cruelty is the point...

...and it’s not just kids either (including these folks – and some had to be treated for hypothermia at his latest hate fest as a result...nice)...

...and turning to the pivotal state of Michigan, I thought this was a great clip featuring Jeff Daniels supporting Biden/Harris (though I wish he’d said he’s going to vote for this guy too)...

...and to support the folks in this video as well as other Dems running for the U.S. Senate, click here...

...and I thought this was a good ad for Christina Finello, running to unseat Bri-Fi from PA-01 in the U.S. House (and for folks in PA district 31, please click here to support Perry Warren)...

...and as long as I’ve included a Michigan-related clip here, I thought it only appropriate to include a tune from a musical legend born in that great state.

Tuesday Stuff (updates)

(The pic has to do with this, by the way – if you choose to donate, you’re on your own with that one.)

Including this clip doesn’t mean that I suddenly deem Joe Scar to be some kind of an all-knowing oracle or anything close to that – he’d be doing us all a service if he’d shut his yap and let others like Willie G. and Mrs. Scar make a contribution, but that’s their problem. However, he has found the metaphorical nut on Wonder Boy Jared’s latest sickening insanity (I don’t want to image the bottomless pit of evil that allows life forms like him and that entire wretched family to fester)...

...and when it comes to the only story that truly matters for this year, aside from the election of course, David Pakman presents clips of Trump stooge Mark Meadows basically telling Jake Tapper that the regime of Our Orange Pustule has given up on COVID-19 (confirming what we all strongly suspected anyway)...

...and Rachel Maddow says here that Generalissimo Trump is “An epidemiological menace”; uh, yeah...

...and when it comes to illness, Farron Cousins tells us what’s up with that death eater Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao...to do something about him at long last (and please, Kentucky, for the love of God, don’t blow this), click here - to support more Dems running for the U.S. Senate, click here...

....and returning to the Trumpsters, Ana and Nando Vila of TYT tell us that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo wants Amnesty International, Oxfam etc. to be labeled as “Anti-Semitic organizations” (ridiculous for all of the reasons noted in the clip...more on this Elan Carr character is here)...

...and oh yeah, Amy “Coney Island Baby” Barrett was confirmed to the SCOTUS – completely and totally sucks, and yeah, it’s #midnightmoscowmitch wielding power because he can (he wanted Barrett to try and get rid of Roe and the ACA, and the Gropenfuhrer wanted her for the reasons David Doel tells us, but more importantly because he wants help with being allowed to welch on his debts yet again), but I have to say something – I don’t know if people like Doel, Cenk Uygur, Kyle Kulinski and David Sirota noticed the results of the 2019-2020 primary, but BERNIE SANDERS LOST! AND I SUPPORTED THE FREAKING GUY, AND IT DOESN’T MAKE ME HAPPY EITHER!!!

Do I like Schumer and Pelosi? Hell no! But the Democrats have a tricky dance to perform here in order to retain the power they have and (God willing) build on it in the White House and the Senate. And only someone truly delusional would think that they would have even the remotest chance of winning that trifecta by launching impeachment proceedings (again) against Trump and/or Bill Barr (though they would definitely deserve it).

The U.S. House Dem majority isn’t built on D+14 districts like AOC’s (nothing against her – she’s awesome as far as I’m concerned). THEIR MAJORITY IS BUILT ON SWING DISTRICTS!!!

Is that the fault of voters who (as far as I’m concerned) are clueless for the most part (in terms of their allegiance swaying like the wind blows, I mean)? Maybe. But while I can blame Schumer and Pelosi for a lot, I can’t blame them for that...

...and believe me when I tell you that I need a laugh after that last clip, and John and Francesca deliver with their take on the “fake Melanias,” which apparently is a thing...

...and hey, if we all just get totally fed up and decide to inflict mass carnage, we might as well listen to a jaunty, upbeat tune while we do so (just kidding of course).

Update: OK, maybe not the best musical selection given this I'll admit...don’t ask me about the whole story on this because I don’t know, though I also don’t know what else you can expect the cops to do when he’s waving a knife around, and there’s never an excuse for looting and vandalism (it should be noted, though, that there were peaceful protests also).

Update 10/29/20: As long as I decided to opine on the Walter Wallace shooting, maybe I shouldn’t have given it short shrift the way I did above.

My understanding is that there is body cam footage from the police, and that should be released. I’ve also heard neighborhood residents say he should have been shot in the leg or hit with a taser. Would that have stopped Wallace if he were intent on doing harm? I have no idea, and it might not be realistic to tell cops they automatically have to do that in a situation like this or they’ll face a reprisal. Again, I don’t know.

I DO know that this is not the Tamir Rice case. Or Philando Castile. Or Eric Garner. Or Breonna Taylor. Or Mike Brown. Or George Floyd. Or Trayvon Martin. And yes, investigate and ask questions, but understand that this is different (unless something dramatic is discovered to show something egregious was done by the cops).

Also, I think this case is another example where mental health professionals should have been called either along with (or in place of) police. Had that happened previously already? I don’t know (apparently cops were called on Wallace numerous times).

To me, part of the answer is increased funding for social services to help people like Wallace, including something to help cover the cost of medication that could have kept him alive. And you KNOW what kind of caterwauling would come in response to that, and who would be screeching the loudest.

Update 10/30/20: Ugh - here we go again (directed at the cops, I mean)...

Monday Stuff

I don’t know about you, but given this election cycle, I feel a little like a punch-drunk boxer who has been clubbed repeatedly and has just staggered to sit on his stool at the end of the 14th round. And, as it will for all of us, the bell will ring shortly to begin the 15th and final round, and we must summon the will to answer it and see this through to the end.

Between the COVID health care-related and economic carnage, the non-stop lies and deceit from our ruling cabal of grifters and criminals (which the “Party of Lincoln” has done VIRTUALLY NOTHING to stop, while they perpetrate a fresh new outrage today, all of which I will remember for the rest of my life and will remain the reason why they will NEVER GET MY VOTE AGAIN), the interminable length of this wretched election cycle and the UNENDING APPEALS FOR MONEY, I personally have never experienced an ordeal related to doing our civic duty as tortuous as this one in my life (and I have a feeling I’m not the only one who looks at it like that).

(Regardless of how this winds up – and let’s all do our best to make sure this turns out as positively as possible of course – I can tell you right now I will have A LOT to say about this election cycle once it’s mercifully over at long last!)

Now to the videos – yes, once more, we know what The Lincoln Project is (and I’m not encouraging anyone to donate; that’s on you, dear reader, if you choose to do so), but I think this is another good video (applicable to the pic as far as I’m concerned)...

...and I thought this was a great “Now This” clip on Generalissimo Trump’s family separation policy (related videos are here and here)...

...and Ari Melber brings us a special report of sorts on voter suppression in this country, designed to benefit The Trump Party of course (I don’t believe Melber mentioned this, though – hard to capture all of the garbage out there I realize)...

...and boy, is this ever an incredibly NSFW/H clip about these QAnon lunatics, but I thought it was hilarious, though I shouldn't laugh TOO much I know (I leaned that LARP is a new acronym for these life forms - more here)...

..and believe me when I tell you that I have been waiting for YEARS for our side to give it back to the wingnuts as they’ve thrown it in our faces, so to speak – this makes up for the “No Show Finello” garbage from Bri-Fi and his acolytes (to help Christina Finello, click here)...

...and RIP Jerry Jeff Walker, performing his signature tune.
