Friday Stuff

Brian Tyler Cohen tells us that Dr. Anthony Fauci has had enough of Rand “Fake Ophthalmologist” Paul, particularly over the Repug Kentucky dimwit’s claim about “herd immunity” In response to the COVID-19 plague...

...and when it comes to the Gropenfuhrer and the pandemic, I honestly don’t know what else needs to be said (except maybe this)...

...and boy, am I ever glad that SOMEBODY is running with this story about the 650 million disposable masks that the Post Office was prepared to send, but it got shot down by the regime of Our Orange Pustule (and as far as I’m concerned, we should take out our anger not just on Mango Mussolini, but EVERY U.S. HOUSE REPUBLICAN and EVERY REPUBLICAN on this list...kudos to Kyle K.)...

...and speaking of federal agencies being prevented from doing their jobs in response to the COVID outbreak, Rachel Maddow brings us a report on Robert Redfield of the CDC putting his metaphorical thumb on a report to the Smithfield meat packing plant in South Dakota to soften the agency’s instructions to try and prevent the outbreak from spreading among the workforce and the surrounding community (and if we decide to go hunting for political scalps, as it were, maybe we should include this person...Maddow’s disgust in the last two minutes in particular is palpable, and completely appropriate)....

...and I thought this was a good recent clip from Chris Hayes about what U.S. Senate Democrats should do in response to Republicans doing their best to ram through another right-wing partisan SCOTUS justice (kind of a ridiculous edit to the video with Hayes cut off almost in mid-sentence)...

...and gee, aren’t you glad that the Seattle cops have learned their lesson in not abusing peaceful protesters (unfortunately, this is a tongue-in-cheek remark, and you can apply this case elsewhere in this country of course based on recent events)...

...and Cenk and Ana of TYT tells us that Fix and Fiends is shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that left-wing protestors appear to be – wait for it! – ORGANIZED!!!! (in response to the shooting of Breonna Taylor)...

...and happy upcoming 65th birthday to Carlene Carter, the former Mrs. Nick Lowe - a terrific cover of an Elvis Costello tune.

Wednesday Stuff (update)

(Note: The cartoon above came from Bruce MacKinnon of the Chronicle Herald in Halifax, Nova Scotia...in Canada, in case you weren’t sure. It has to do with the Brett Kavanaugh hearings. And yeah, I think it matters given that we have a *president and a Supreme Court Justice who have each been accused multiple times of sexual misconduct. And I realize that doesn’t have a direct bearing on who Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao and his same-party playmates are going to rush through to replace Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but it DOES have to do with utterly abusing the U.S. Constitution which these cretins swore to protect and defend...not just 45, but every Republican in the federal government as far as I’m concerned.)

Sam and the “Majority Report” crew tell us about the two leading contenders for Our Orange Pustule and his desire to ignore the vast majority of this country and ram through a wingnut replacement for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and those two would be Amy Coney Barrett and Barbara Lagoa, who are both awful for different reasons apparently (and by the way, former Supreme Court Justice Lewis Powell was a Democrat, albeit a very conservative one...and personally, I don’t care if they’re Druids...what I care about is that they’re bound to be anti-choice, anti-worker, anti-environment, or else they wouldn’t be backed by The Federalist Society...pretty much anti-everything if it doesn’t help the ”one percent”...and yeah, this gives away the game too, as Sam alluded to, doesn't it?)...

Update 9/26/20: Yep, as bad as I feared - maybe worse (here and here)...

...and Farron Cousins wonders if Our Traitorous Orange Meat Sack may be bleeding electorally from his beloved base at last – if true, it’s about freaking time (but, to be fair, we don't know and we can't make assumptions of course)...

...and John and Ana of TYT tell us about the Trump gang getting “naked votes” in PA thrown out...I have a little insight into this, since we at Le Manse Doomsy vote by absentee ballot in our beloved commonwealth – the instructions for using the unmarked privacy envelope and then putting that envelope into the pre-printed one for general mailing are marked pretty well, but yeah, it’s typically disgusting for the “party of Lincoln” to be going to court over this – to me, the answer is a federal “motor voter” law where you are automatically registered and have the default option of a mail-in ballot, though you could opt out of that for in-person voting...and yeah, I know it would take a hell of a lot of money to implement, but we always seem to have $$ for wars and tax cuts of course, so that’s not an issue as far as I’m concerned...

...and happy 71st birthday to The Boss.

Tuesday Stuff

Kyle K. tells us here about Mango Mussolini’s remarks on MSNBC’s Ali Velshi getting attacked while covering peaceful anti-police protests; typical loudmouth, lying BS from this fraud, and I’m not referring to Kyle and Velshi of course (not completely on board with Edward Snowden, and DEFINITELY not on board with Julian Assange though, I should point out)...

...and Farron Cousins tells us about Trumpsters in Fairfax County, VA trying to prevent people from voting – part of me wants to encourage voters to tell cretins trying to do this stuff to go f*ck right off, but I know Cousins is right, mainly because he’s a lawyer and knows this stuff...

...and this ABC News report tells us about more infighting between the Trumpsters and the CDC, along with a story about 650 million disposable masks that the Post Office planned to send out in April, which I think should gain a hell of a lot of traction in our corporate media (try imagining where we’d be if they had been sent out as opposed to this), but I’m definitely not holding my breath on that...

...and speaking of our corporate media, as far as I'm concerned, this clip should be the ratings death knell for The Roger Ailes BS Factory, but of course I know it won't be...

...and as long as we're talking about Republican sycophants, I should note that, in typical fashion, it looks like PA U.S. Senator "No Corporate Tax" Pat Toomey (R-Elevator) is running and hiding on the issue of the Gropenfuhrer trying to ram through a replacement for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg - "brave sir Patrick ran away"...to help Toomey make up his mind, click here...

Update: Typical for this lying, disgusting fraud (here) - looks like it's time once more for this...

...and Toomey is a blip at about 1:57 here, but never, ever forget that he belongs to the party that wants to “ash can” Social Security, as Rachel Maddow put it accurately, along with Medicare – Toomey and his pals are going to keep trying to run this con over and over, and we all have to do our best to make sure they never succeed...

...and the title of this tune must be the Trumpster credo, but I thought it was kind of a mellow fall number – gets harder and harder to generate good karma, but for what it’s worth, I’m trying.

Monday Stuff

David Doel tells us about MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle’s and her most recent cluelessness on a Biden remark about “Scranton and Park Avenue,” which of course is a dumbed-down framing anyway because most voters have short attention spans and Biden knows it...sorry if that’s unkind, but it’s true (rich lives matter, to paraphrase Ruhle...as I and others smarter than I have said, the real “bias” in this country is over ratings and money, not ideology...this whole “conservative vs. liberal” shouting match ends up putting $$ in the pockets of the one percent, who no doubt are laughing their metaphorical asses off over this nonsense...the one percent definitely includes Comcast, who tell Ruhle and everyone else at that network how and when to dance as far as I'm concerned)...

...and turning to Biden’s opposition, this news report tells us about this life form named Norbert Logsdon, a Trump supporter who assaulted a teenaged girl with a flagpole (here); I have to admit that I’m a little irritated by the “both sides-ism” here... I don’t see any Biden supporters reaching into cars and attacking young girls, to say nothing of showing profane messages in public; if there is, present evidence and make the case - don’t just throw out lazy innuendo...

...and keeping with Our Orange Pestilence, nice fake-out by Thom H. in the beginning here about newspapers calling on Clinton to resign – sync is still off (there’s a link to iwillvote at this site in the right column under Check Your Voter Status, by the way)...

...and John and Francesca remind us once more about the Gropenfuhrer not caring about anybody getting COVID besides him (”even the mannequins would need consent” – good one)...

...and turning to 45’s enablers, Farron Cousins reminds us that Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao continues to stand in the way of COVID-19 relief, including this (I wouldn’t be so quick to give up on Amy McGrath, though I’ll admit that it’s an uphill fight for her for sure...looks like Cousins had some kind of a carpal tunnel procedure – hope everything went OK)...

...and Kyle tells us about a mom who went to Tennessee to get health care for her kids and now faces a maximum of 27 years in prison for it (what country am I living in again?)...

...and Minot, ND city councilwoman Carrie Evans is my latest hero (heroine?) for this...

...and I’m actually trying to find ways to expand the variety of musical selections here, and in so doing I happened to come upon this number – hope this gives you a bit of a jump to begin the week.
