Saturday Stuff

Before anyone decides to feel a shred of sympathy for Mango Mussolini over his COVID diagnosis, don’t forget this...

...and this Now This clip notes all of the places 45 went knowing that he had it (the pit of his evil truly has no bottom – again, I don’t think we should feel a spec of sympathy for this individual)...

...oh, and speaking of the First Lady, this clip tells us how she was ragging over a bunch of kids at Christmas or something (yeah, if this had been Michelle Obama, this would have run on a loop on Fix Noise for years...probably about 10 weeks early for this I’ll admit)...

...and Ayman Mohyeldin of MSNBC speaks with Richard Haass, President of the Council of Foreign Relations and a senior advisor to Poppy Bush, about how countries around the world reacted to Tuesday’s shit show (remarkable to me, though I guess maybe it shouldn’t be, that they don’t clearly lay the blame for this at the feet of the Gropenfuhrer, but then again, we’re talking about The Comcast Network here, let’s not forget...I thought this was a good column on this subject)...

...and Rachel Maddow spoke earlier this week with Dem PA House Rep Malcolm Kenyatta over all of the nonsense 45 and his minions are trying to inflict on voting in our beloved commonwealth (more info is here, and here is more on mail-in voting)...

...and in the Now This clip in this post, the latest White House press corps liar Kayleigh McEnany wore a crucifix around her neck while she was plying her dark art (I wish I had a nickel for every time I’ve seen that from people who turned out to be liars and frauds), so you can consider this somewhat of a spiritual musical response on my part...and for anybody who still cares, the John Steinbeck novel I was referring to Wednesday (novella, actually) was this one.

Friday Stuff

(I also posted here about a voting matter for PA folks.)

Well, it finally happened; I don’t think this is quite the “October Surprise” the Gropenfuhrer had in mind (of course, he’ll be able to carry out “presidential duties” of watching Fix Noise on TV while in isolation...”his age and weight” – good one, and of course it’s correct to take that into consideration as a health factor...and when it comes to Our Orange Pustule and what he would do to this country on health care, I give you this)...

Update: Hmmm, maybe not as much TV as I thought, or as much Fix Noise anyway (here)...

...but despite today’s story, I don’t think we should forget about what probably was the most infamous moment of last Tuesday’s freak show masquerading as a presidential debate...

...oh, and there was that "Fredo" moment too ("I'm smaaaart!")...

...and John and Jayar of “The Damage Report” tell us about the post-debate polling (with Frank Luntz and yet another focus group...I don’t know if Jayar is being unduly negative or not, but I know he’s seen this stuff play out before and he knows not to get his hopes too high, which is a sound approach I think – lots of work to do until this is done, and hopefully the right way of course)...

...and probably a reason why Jayar is suspicious is because of stuff like this, which tells us that Mango Mussolini came up with a list of African American voters that they targeted to try and depress their vote to hurt Hillary Clinton...I have to admit that the sophistication behind something like this is a story in and of itself, and I’m not sure how you come up with a law to make it illegal, but yeah, it’s pretty damn lowdown and rotten too)...

...and David Doel tells us that Dem U.S. House Rep Katie Porter of CA was at it again with her white board, grilling another fat cat CEO on how people in this country are getting gouged, this time on prescription medications (excellent work)...if, God willing, the Dems are returned to power, campaign finance reform should be really high on the list of legislative priorities, but allowing ANYONE in this country to negotiate with Big Pharma for lower drug prices should be included also...

...and sticking with health care, I now give you the latest installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” (more or less) from 10/1/16...on that day, we noted the 40th anniversary of the passage of the utterly awful Hyde Amendment, named after a serial philanderer in the U.S. House, so a couple of days ago marked the 44th anniversary...while people are quite rightly nervous about Amy Coney Barrett being elevated to the SCOTUS by the Gropenfuhrer and #midnightmoscowmitch (and in particular what that could mean to Roe and the ACA), we shouldn’t forget about trying to do away with this also, which would be most welcome actually (Hyde “punched down” on poor women simply because he could)...tells you how hard a slog it will be not to just hang onto what we have, but to get rid of garbage like Hyde once and for all (heckuva job by the “Bernie or bust” crowd and the “BUT HER EMAILS!!!” gang, to say nothing of wretched individuals who supported Our Treasonous, Tiny-Handed Russian Operative in An Oval Office, as well as anyone who still supports a Repug for any reason whatsoever)...

...and I guess, given the prior clip, I should include “I Am Woman” as a tribute to Helen Reddy, but to be honest, this was the only song of hers I gave a damn about (not a good week for ‘70s music icons, as noted here also).

Wednesday Stuff

Cenk, Ana, John and Michael Shure give us their take on last night’s presidential debate; no, I didn’t watch it because there’s nothing for me to decide and I didn't want to support that freak show...I share the points of view of probably all four panelists here to one degree or another...nothing against Ana, but she’s right unfortunately of this being a country of way too many bullies, but I think Michael is right that the number one objective for Biden at this point is to hold onto the voters he has (hopefully build on that) and not let anyone think that that orange, sweaty, obnoxious, treasonous barnacle of an alleged *president is a realistic option for another four years...if Our Orange Pustule says anything else about Biden’s kids, I hope the former veep says, “At least neither of my sons every went over to Asia to hunt and kill big game on the taxpayer dime” (here)...I also agree with John’s comment which I took to mean that, in any kind of a functioning democracy (which this country is supposed to be), this wouldn’t even be a contest by now - to help the Dem ticket, click here...

Update: From Orange Satan's lips to their ears (here)...

...and I’m bringing back this homemade video about the Trump campaign using the Nazi eagle because of that “stand by” remark he made to those “Proud Boys” lunatics, which of course is a dog whistle to go out and start more nonsense (can also view from here)...

...and here is a “Now This” clip of the Trump term by the numbers (love the opening schlocky choice of background music befitting this farce of a *presidency, sadly...I’m afraid the “222 judges” will be the worst legacy, unfortunately, and you can blame #midnightmoscowmitch for that also...and yeah, at about 3:00, it gets serious, and appropriately so)...

...and David Doel did a great job here I thought exposing not-soon-enough-to-be-departing Dem U.S. House Rep Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii and her effort to prop up the latest garbage from those cretins at Project Veritas, including the utterly execrable James O’Keefe (having to do with “ballot harvesting,” a term which I’m sure originated from the Frank Luntz fever swamps...I'm sure Doel is right that Gabbard will be appear on Tucker Carlson any day now over this)...

...and speaking of The Swanson TV Dinner Heir, Farron Cousins tells us here that The Roger Ailes BS Factory used the argument that no one should take that show seriously in a court case, and they won...how does it feel to know that your own network is laughing at you, I wonder?...

...and happy 45th birthday to David Geraghty of Bell X1 (the band, that is...here's a "bonus points" question - anybody know which John Steinbeck novel is being referenced in the song?).

Monday Stuff

This is a pretty comprehensive look by Cenk Uygur at the Gropenfuhrer’s tax returns from the recent New York Times story, which truly is a bombshell...I know it’s a little trite to say “follow the money,” but yeah, that leads you to all kinds of interesting stuff, including the tragic decision to pull our military out of Syria to please Erdogan of Turkey, as well as the idiocy with Duterte of the Philippines...I think revisiting the DNC stuff and Donna Brazile is a little silly in this context, though I’m not trying to absolve anybody here...it looks like Putin used the beauty pageant as leverage, though the story doesn’t say that of course, but would that really be that much of a stretch knowing what we know now?...

...and yes, I know – these people are yesterday’s and probably tomorrow’s Republicans, but once again, they’re doing good work, so here is another great ad (and to do something about the Gropenfuhrer’s enablers in the U.S. Senate, click here...

...and Farron Cousins tells us about the latest idiocy in The Sunshine State, which I truly may never visit again after this COVID-19 plague (good point about the particularly stupid timing of reopening during the offseason)...

...and in addition to SRV yesterday, I was remiss in also not noting last Wednesday what would have been the 90th birthday of the one and only Ray Charles – can’t help but think of this tune which goes out to our Orange Pustule-In-Chief.

Sunday Stuff

Ana Kasparian and Emma Vigeland talk about Amy Coney Barrett, the person Our Orange Pustule-In-Chief nominated to take over the SCOTUS seat formerly held by Ruth Bader Ginsburg (more here, here, here, and here...and of course, this is typically disgusting from these cretins - and I guess, as fas as ACB is concerned, only the "right" people should be allowed to vote as noted here)...

(and oh yeah, every damn word of this too...)

...and I know Kyle Kulinski recently made a video on this subject - kudos to David Doel for following suit...

...and speaking of Kyle, he tells us about CARES Act funding intended for purposes of fighting the COVID-19 plague that was given to military contractors instead for very non-COVID stuff...“how everything ‘cock blocks’ change” – good one...and when it comes to pandemic funding that went to the wrong place, I give you this...what's really needed, of course, is this...

...and Charlie Baker apparently didn’t mention the Gropenfuhrer in the MA Repug Gov’s recent comments about the utterly insane recent remarks from Generalissimo Trump about not observing a peaceful transfer of power, but I’m not sure he really had to (though I’ll admit that it would have been the right thing to do)...

...and I was remiss in noting a sad milestone, and I want to make amends for that now...a month ago today marked the 30th anniversary of the death of legendary guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan – here is another unforgettable performance from Austin City Limits (and switches to a new "ax" in the middle of the tune and doesn't miss a beat - what a boss).
