Saturday Stuff

Yeah, cupcake, we hope you and your family of criminals manages to “find something new” after November 3rd of this year (an orange jumpsuit would be a good look as far as I’m concerned...and yeah, this sure fits the profile, doesn't it?)…

…and Kyle tells us how the wingnuts are trying to load up the next round of relief funding for those in our current crisis with more giveaways for the “pay no price, bear no burden” bunch…the Dems have some issues overall, but I can’t think of a word for the idiocy of someone who still believes that both of our major political parties are the same at this point…and yeah, I think the Naomi Klein parallel fits…

…and with #midnightmoscowmitch in mind (the guy who’s concocting the ruinous legislation Kyle just talked about, and who is sitting on the HEROES Act), I give you this clip of Dem U.S. Senate candidate Amy McGrath speaking with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace in response to the Russians-putting-bounties-on-our-troops story which, shockingly, seems to be fading from the news cycle (even in our current political/media/industrial complex insider hellscape, there is still some stuff that should be beyond the pale, and this fits…to help McGrath, click here)…

…and this Meidas Touch video tells us how Our Orange Pustule and his sycophants are trying to force kids back to school, regardless of how much COVID-19 is currently raging…

…and Mika, Willie Geist and the “Morning Joe” crew talk about how Governor Brian Kemp of GA is fighting with Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms over masks (another single-day record for coronavirus cases, with particularly bad stuff going on in Florida...and yeah, looks like our former ol' buddy Vlad Putin is trying to steal research into a COVID-19 vaccine; not surprising to hear crickets from Our Treasonous, Tiny-Handed Head of State in response)…

…and RIP civil rights icon and Dem U.S. Congressman John Lewis, here speaking with Gayle King of CBS This Morning from last month about the protests in response to the death of George Floyd – under normal circumstances, this video would absolutely appear first in this post (more here)…

…and I suppose it’s cold comfort to know that Generalissimo Trump isn’t Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil, though as far as I’m concerned, it’s hard to tell who is worse, and it’s no coincidence at all that our two countries have the worst response to COVID-19 while the rest of the world is coming to grips with the pandemic…

…and believe me when I tell you that I need a tune that represents some summer escapism, and I hope this works for you also.

Friday Stuff

This Now This video presents a couple of doctors who, quite rightly, are pretty fed up with the bitching and whining from people opposed to wearing masks; if we had all done that as a nation when we should have along with the social distancing and shelter-in-place stuff, we’d be starting to see our way out of this mess by now…

…and Farron Cousins tells us that the anti-maskers may be heading for a reckoning starting next week – about freaking time (including this life form...slightly NSFW/H)…

…and David Doel tells us about a NYT story about Our Orange Pustule trying to prevent the CDC from coordinating data on coronavirus and instead having that information go to a “federal database”…kind of unintentionally funny to hear that proposed when the wingnuts howl day and night when that same approach is suggested for the purposes of common-sense gun regulation…

…and this clip from Thom Hartmann is a couple of weeks old I know, but it’s still pretty current sadly…wrapup of how the rest of the world is handling the pandemic aside from us and Brazil – will this country recover from the right-wing billionaires’ war against us? I honestly don’t know…

…and I have to admit that I don’t know what the hell is going on in Portland, Oregon at this moment either, but yeah, I would say that’s it’s definitely a preview to the dystopian hellscape of a (God help us) potential second term under the Gropenfuhrer (more here)…

Update: Yeah, this figures,

…and I realize it doesn’t take much to defeat the bombast of mouth-breathers like Fix Noise’s Brian Kilmeade, but when BoBo and Bedbug Bret depart from “The Old Gray Lady,” then you can try to lay this whole “liberal purge” thing on me, and I probably still won’t believe you (Sam and Michael Brooks talk about all the nonsense with Bari Weiss this week…more here, and Sam was talking about this, by the way)…

…and I thought this was a pretty nice video from Christina Finello, running to unseat Repug Brian Fitzpatrick in the PA-01 U.S. House race (to help, click here...and this is typical for the fawning pro-Repug media coverage in these parts)…

…and RIP Judy Dyble, formerly of Fairport Convention before she was replaced by Sandy Denny.

Wednesday Stuff

Mika and the “Morning Joe” crew meet with actual, bona fide medical experts to talk about the ridiculous and deadly hissy fit Generalissimo Trump is carrying on with Dr. Anthony Fauci (with Fauci, typically to his credit, not taking the bait)…

…and Farron Cousins tells us about the CDC trying to get the word out that it would be an UTTER DISASTER for schools to reopen, while being undercut by our ruling regime of liars and frauds as per usual (mildly NSFW/H)…

…and Kyle K. tells us that the richest 1 percent is responsible for 70% of unpaid taxes (about $381 bil - and yeah, there goes that "socialist" Bernie Sanders doing the right thing again), and if these deadbeats would just pay up, it could fund a whole lot of good stuff, like debt-free college, UBI, etc. (”The system is going to collapse under the weight of its own hypocrisy” indeed)…

…and John I. speaks with author Mario Alejandro Ariza about climate change and its potential (likely?) impact on Miami (the racial aspect of this is deplorable all right, but it definitely looks like a case of the “chickens coming home to roost”)…

…and I see a report like this from “The Sunshine State,” and I’m sorry, but I see no hope at all (and yes, I know Miami Dade has a mask ordinance which apparently many people are observing, but at this point, “many people” isn’t good enough - "maskless cheese eaters"...heh)…

…and I realize that I forgot to acknowledge Bastille Day yesterday; my bad – hopefully I can make amends somewhat with this tune.

Tuesday Stuff

Here’s something I’m not sure that I’ve ever done, and that is to lead in with a CNN video featuring Erin Burnett, and she pretty thoroughly explains the idiocy of Generalissimo Trump’s attacks on Dr. Anthony Fauci, with Dr. Sanjay Gupta and others…

…and Chris Hayes speaks with Dem U.S. Senator Doug Jones of Alabama about a bipartisan bill he’s co-sponsoring to seek additional funding that would allow schools to reopen nationwide…I’m sure there are a lot of good people in Alabama, and I would respectfully ask that they PLEASE re-elect Jones this fall – I know the odds are long because the state traditionally is pretty red, but though I haven’t seen Jones speak too often, whenever I do he makes a lot of sense and he’s doing his job for sure (to help, click here – another strange edit to an MSNBC video that ran for a little bit longer but was clipped for some reason, probably because Jones quite rightly pointed out that #midnightmoscowmitch is sitting on The HEROES Act and I guess The Comcast Network didn’t want anyone to know that)…

…and I think this is another good Lincoln Project video about courage (and in some cases, the lack thereof)…

…and I think Kyle is being a little kinder here to The Swanson TV Dinner Heir than I would be, though I cede Kyle’s points, but yeah, claiming that Biden wants to get rid of the suburbs is pretty gonzo even for Carlson (NSFW/H…I hope Kyle’s forecast at the end is right, but we’ll see of course)…

…and Seth Meyers brings us “A Closer Look,” featuring about as much of Cruela De Vos and the Gropenfuhrer as I can stand (and DeSantis in Florida gets a dishonorable mention for sure – yeah, we don’t see any chest-pounding against the media from this numbskull now, do we?)…

...and I know I need to catch up on my summer selections, and I definitely have to include this one.

Monday Stuff

Thom Hartmann tells us all about the Trump regime’s desire for us all to “die for the Dow” – utter monsters…and I know that we went over the "Corona virus" party story before, which is an awful tragedy of course; another example of this country’s utterly failed leadership on this as far as I’m concerned (the “measles party” thing was a little before my time)...

…and once more, I know a lot of the people in this group supported Dubya and other ruinous Republicans, but they definitely are standing tall now, to their credit (again, not hearing a whole lot from the Democratic congressional “leadership” in a similar vein, though they never have a problem with hitting me up to beg for a donation)…

…and this Meidas Touch ad is also excellent in a similar vein; at this point, it’s not just a matter of throwing out Mango Mussolini in November, but punishing EVERY REPUBLICAN WHO HAS ENABLED HIM also…

…and Farron Cousins tells us that former KKK leader David Duke has endorsed the Gropenfuhrer for another term, but this time, with the Swanson TV Dinner Heir on the ticket as veep instead of “Onward Christian Soldiers” Mike Pence (mildly NSFW/H)...

…and gee, maybe we ought to do something about this climate change thing, huh (yet another reason to support Biden)…

…and man, is this a hell of an ad – I don’t need to add a word (more appropriate for July 4th or Memorial Day, but it works any other day also)…

…and happy belated birthday to Greg Kihn – hope it was a good one...

…and I can’t believe that today is the 35th anniversary of Live Aid, but it is – here IMHO is a memorable Philly performance.
