Saturday Stuff
…and once more, K.O. is “on the beat” concerning the “Gropenfuhrer” (amazing how many people are apparently realizing Number 45 is crackers only now)…
…and I hope the recent health care outcome means you won’t need a prescription for this (heh – NSFW)…
…and while we were on vacation, another rock milestone passed, and that was the 40th anniversary of “My Aim Is True,” the debut from Elvis Costello of course, which brought us this great tune among many others.

Friday Stuff
...and it looks like Fergus Laing's latest nominee for the Justice Department's criminal division previously represented Russia's Alfa Bank, which might be an issue given that we're trying to extradite a big-deal Russian mobster (not illegal as far as we know, but if it walks like a duckski, talks like a duckski and quacks like a duckski)...
…and I totally agree with the assessment of Chris Hayes here – I believe it was Ice Cube who said recently on “Real Time” that the good cops need to “out” the bad ones, and he’s right (though he didn’t put it in those words of course…our president is insane, and anyone who doesn’t do anything in response, to say nothing of encouraging him, is aiding and abetting - more here)…
President urges officers to commit acts of brutality, officers laugh and cheer wildly. Beginning to think problem isn't a few bad apples. pic.twitter.com/o1sSgw6lGy

…and Samantha Bee tells us the “tale of the taint,” as it were (NSFW)…
…and I give you another installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” from 7/28/07; earlier this week, I posted a “Now This” clip explaining why we shouldn’t allow a second of hagiography concerning Former Commander Codpiece, and I definitely think this gives us more of a reminder on that score (NSFW also)…
…and I have to admit that I can do without his covers of the standards (though they’re decent enough I guess), but kudos to Rod Stewart for this.

Thursday Stuff
I thought Rachel Maddow made a good point last night about how the latest garbage from Number 45 regarding our courageous “trans” military personnel, and this typically awful speech about immigrants highlighted below, is an effort to keep his 30-percent-or-so “base” in line while he lets Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III twist in the wind, as it were (of course, this would be the handiwork of “President” Bannon, since our Impulse Control Issue Child-In-Chief isn’t smart enough to come up with a tactic like that himself...and God, those poor, pathetic saps applauding that lunatic)…
President Trump gave an unhinged speech comparing immigrants to animals pic.twitter.com/WF2dX6K4Gx
— NowThis (@nowthisnews) July 27, 2017
…and I wonder how many of those supposedly disgusting immigrants actually made products for Generalissimo Trump (here – a little late on this I know)?...
…this clip is pretty current, though, and that’s a comparison of what Fergus Laing’s visits at Mar-a-Lago cost versus what our LGBTQ military personnel would need – we know Trump poses no capacity for shame whatsoever; otherwise, it would be on display for this…
...and speaking of TRMS, I think our "prez" is nuttier now than he was during the campaign; Maddow pretty much agreed with presidential historian Michael Beschloss on this last week...and yeah, I would say that's the stuff of nightmares...
...and I continue to catch up with K.O.'s great commentaries with this one...
…and I’m behind on my summer tunes also – even though we’ve only been back for about a week, I REALLY feel like I need to hear this with all that is going on.

Wednesday Stuff
…and yeah, as always, it’s all about Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! from Not Your Father’s Republican Party, especially in the “land of the yellow rose” (I say that if lawmakers want to mandate that women report issues regarding their personal health, then male politicians who favor these awful bills should be forced to do the same thing, such as how many times they take Viagra or Cialis)…
Texas wants to require women who get abortions to report their personal info to the government pic.twitter.com/prHkNSPEX7
— NowThis (@nowthisnews) July 26, 2017
..and speaking of health care, I thought Cenk and Ana gave “Senator Honor and Virtue” the treatment he deserved given that awful vote yesterday (and with all due respect to Bob Cesca, I really don’t care about this – this is more like it)…
Update 7/28/17: OK, give McCain credit for doing the right thing on Thursday night, but let's not forget that, as Laura Clawson rightly points out here, Collins, Murkowski and especially Mazie Hirono deserve credit too.
…and sticking with health care, potty mouth Kyle K. brings us a GREAT example here of how Dems are supposed to respond on the issue of single payer, courtesy of Ro Khanna (NSFW)…
…and I know I really didn’t have anything to say previously about Anthony Scaramucci, the Gropenfuhrer’s new mouthpiece, but I thought Seth Meyers summed things up pretty well here (after watching this clip, maybe his legal name should be Donald J. “I Know You Are, But What Am I?” Trump)…
…and aside from the tune which I liked of course, I don’t know which part of the video was my favorite; the mom (?) doing the photo-bomb or the appearance by the dog.

Tuesday Stuff
…and I would say that we’ve got a little “vox populi” going on here…
“Don't kill us, kill the bill!”: GOP Senate health care vote interrupted by protests https://t.co/inXzaVUFHZ pic.twitter.com/l53GlFqrWK
— Vox (@voxdotcom) July 25, 2017
…and yeah, the Repugs are all disgusting liars, but we knew that anyway…
Watching 7 years of Republican mendacity on health care is...staggering pic.twitter.com/FNuEeD9NLx
— NowThis (@nowthisnews) July 25, 2017
…and all the best to 10-year-old Liam Barry, and especially to his mom…
President @realDonaldTrump & every @SenateGOP member need to read this 10-yr-old boy’s letter before they repeal his mom’s healthcare today. pic.twitter.com/DJpWKE5T4M
— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) July 25, 2017
…and switching things up a bit, David Pakman reminds us that, even though the Dems need to do a better job of creating space between them and the Repugs, there is one issue for sure where the Dems stand out like the proverbial sore thumb (in a good way, though, with the Repugs actually LOWERING the minimum wage in some states – catching up some more from last week)…
…and normally I’d feature K.O.’s great vids a little higher in the posts, but, maybe only for today, I think the Russia stuff should take a back seat (what does it tell you that we need to de-prioritize what, to my mind, is full-on treason, as Olbermann points out, in favor of the potential destruction of one-sixth of our economy?)…
...and yeah, I know I've only been back for a few days, but after today's disgusting spectacle on Capitol Hill, I think we need to hear this song.

Monday Stuff
And by the way, for what it’s worth, I did a totally unscientific survey of 2016 election bumper stickers on MVY vehicles, and as you might expect, there were a few Trump/Pence ones on beat-up pickup trucks owned probably by construction people and general contractors (if I were to guess) and some Clinton/Kaine bumper stickers also on some random sedans (never could understand them using a symbol instead of just putting the names on the stickers, one of the MANY things wrong with that campaign as far as I’m concerned). Maybe there were slightly more Clinton/Kaine stickers than Trump stickers, but not by much. However, Bernie Sanders stickers were all over the place…not even close as to who was most popular on that basis.
With that being said, it’s time to dive into this as follows (and it looks like we’re still stuck with Generalissimo Trump…sigh)…
…and I know this is about a week old by now, but I just had to include this from Stephen Colbert…
...and all the best to Sen. John McCain (here) - yeah, I've made the "tire swing" jokes about his relationship with the Beltway media just like everyone else, but imagine a Republican candidate for president saying these words as opposed to the never-ending stream of oral diarrhea from Number 45 (hat tip to Ian Reifowitz of Daily Kos for the clip)...
...and widdle Spicey is OUTTA HERE too (as Paul Krugman said, condolences to Melissa McCarthy)...
...and yes, I'm definitely opposed to any attempt whatsoever to rehabilitate Former President Highest Disapproval Rating In Gallup Poll History (though I have to admit that his portrayal in the second Harold and Kumar movie was pretty funny), and I think people should lay off of Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Kimmel, but I still think we need this reminder…
Here's why the recent rehabilitation of George W. Bush has GOT to stop pic.twitter.com/oeqfI59ZOw

...and George Romero (John Heard also)...
...and Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.
