Saturday Stuff

I hope all of you who did whatever it was that you did to help elect President Big Orange Cheetoh continue to be proud of yourselves (here)…

...and yes, keep hitting the “Gropenfuhrer” where it hurts, but just remember one thing; when it comes to Number 45, we’re not talking about a sane, rational individual (I'm probably the only person in the country who hasn't seen the Melissa McCarthy bit yet; again, not saying don’t ridicule him, but just don’t be too shocked if he goes off his nut and tries to lob a missile somewhere, in which case impeachment should be automatic…love to be wrong - after this, Alec Baldwin MUST do Trump in drag!)…

Update 2/13/17: Finally saw Melissa McCarthy including last weekend - funny indeed (as was Kate McKinnon as Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III).

...and nice work by the people of Romania here (re, protests...and nice to tie it to DAPL and Net Neutrality - a few days old; sorry)...

...and here's an upbeat little tune (tongue-in-cheek), maybe a little early for Halloween, but here it is anyway.

Friday Stuff

I thought Stephen Colbert had a nice take here on the little dustup between the "Trumpsters" and Nordstrom's (and can someone remind me again how all of this is supposed to be legal - here)...

...and Rachel Maddow brings us the latest PPP results on Fergus Laing (boy, are Trump supporters stoo-pid! Not a headline at this point, though, I know...and in a related story as they say, Mark Sumner makes a great point here)...

…and the “Gropenfuhrer” is so bad that he’s also affecting non-human life forms, as K.O. points out…

…and our bridges are crumbling and our infrastructure overall is a mess, we still need funding for pre-K and early childhood education, we need to retool our beloved commonwealth to a renewable energy economy…but instead, this is the nonsense those numbskulls in Harrisburg are preoccupying themselves with (as always, it’s “jobs, jobs, jobs” for Not Your Father’s Republican Party – an update is here)…

…and I guess you could say that Repug South Carolina Senator Huckleberry Graham is “showing a little leg” again in his ultra-sexist remarks about Dem U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren of MA, as Sam Seder tells us (more here)…

Update 2/11/17: Looking good indeed, Montana (here).

…and I’m pretty sure today is the 80th birthday of legendary singer Roberta Flack, even though that seems to be contested a bit at some places online – anyway, that gives me an excuse for this great song.

Thursday Stuff

K.O. tells us about the travesties committed in our name, particularly against kids, by Generalissimo Trump…

…and I give you another installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” from 2/9/10, which marks the 67th anniversary of Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy’s speech alleging that more than 200 employees of the U.S. State Department were members of the Communist Party; to note the 60th anniversary, I included the following clip from “Good Night And Good Luck” with David Strathairn channeling Edward R. Murrow; the comments were aimed right at McCarthy, but they can just as easily be directed at Number 45 right now…

…and “Napoleon Bona-Trump”…good one (here)…

...meanwhile, Kyle K.tells us about Trump token Sheriff David Clarke of Milwaukee County and his ad against Dem U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (typical - NSFW)...

…and Rachel Maddow reminds us that, when it comes to the Repugs and racism, it’s a feature, not a bug (recalling in particular the ’00 campaign in South Carolina – great job of connecting the dots between The Sainted Ronnie R, Former Commander Codpiece, Jeff Sessions, Chuck Cooper, etc. – the last two minutes of this should be viewed by every American)…

Update: Some justice, you might say (here - h/t Rachel Maddow)...

…which, if nothing else, is the perfect transition to this song.

Wednesday Stuff

Kyle K. brings plenty of potty-mouth outrage, all deserved, aimed primarily at Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao (more here, here and here - NSFW of course)...

…meanwhile, Rachel Maddow reads excerpts from Coretta Scott King’s letter against Jeff Sessions in 1986 (so f-you, Senate Repugs)…

…and Thom Hartmann talks about a terror trial ignored by President Tiny Hands because the accused perpetrator isn’t a dark-skinned person (and yeah, that’s about par for the proverbial course for “clownhall.com” – one of the many reasons why I don’t read that nonsense anymore; and yeah, spooky to compare the Trumpian garbage with the propaganda from the goose-stepping former Austrian painter)…

…and here’s a tune for Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Update 1: The fight most certainly will go on (here), and nice work here.

Update 2: Oh, and by the way, I have an observation – yes, it’s great to see “The Resistance” to Trump and his kleptocratic cabal of criminals and lunatics, but I’d like to ask a question:

WHERE THE HELL WAS ALL OF THIS DAMN OUTRAGE LAST YEAR WHEN IT ACTUALLY COULD HAVE MATTERED AND WE COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING ABOUT THESE LIFE FORMS WHO DO NOTHING BUT STEAL FROM US AND WHO NOW CURRENTLY HOLD POWER???!!!

“Ooh, Hillary Clinton was too much of a Democratic insider and Beltway centrist and too cozy with Wall Street for me to support her” (yeah, she was that all right, but look what we ended up with). “You know, Jill Stein is actually an intriguing candidate” (umm…tell me when the mother ship actually lands, OK?). “And gosh, Donald Trump sounds more like a populist than a Republican” (check for a pulse).

Every election matters. EVERY STINKING ONE!! It sure as hell matters to Republicans who work so tirelessly to suppress the vote (do you honestly think they win on the strength of their ideas, more often than not?). And it should matter just as much to us who fight for that vote an inch at a time if necessary.

Tuesday, February 07, 2017

Tuesday Stuff

K.O. tells us about the 50 stupidest and/or possibly illegal antics from Generalissimo Trump…

Update 2/8//17: Figures...

...and if I ever have a home improvement project, I'll think about getting what I need from 84 Lumber after this (though this is an interesting postscript; maybe I won't be so quick to buy there after all)...

…and when even our corporate media is wising up, then you know that Fergus Laing and his con are truly wearing thin (here - but I’m shocked! Didn’t “Third-Eye-Network” head Les Moonves once tell us infamously how great Trump was for ratings?)…

…and you know what? I saw both this clip and Kyle K. talking about Fergus Laing’s obligatory Super Bowl interview with Bill Orally, and yes, I understand what I know is the “knee jerk” response to criticizing Number 45 over his remark about us supposedly not being innocent, and how the commentator here as well as Kyle are criticizing that knee-jerk response.

And yes, we need a debate for real about drones, as well as “extraordinary rendition” and “enhanced interrogation techniques” and killing enemy combatants including kids…all of that, from both sides of the aisle (of course, that assumes we have a U.S. Congress made up of actual adults discussing policy without behaving like partisan, petulant children...and that comment is aimed mainly at the "party of Lincoln" of course).

However, the next time anyone argues that there’s some kind of equivalency between us and Russia on this stuff, I would ask the last time our government poisoned political enemies and basically murdered them. I would ask the last time our government annexed territory on its border basically for the sake of petro-dollars (or petro-rubles, if you will).

And I would also ask about the last time our government murdered a journalist in the dark stairwell of the run-down apartment where she lived, doing so on the birthday of the person who benefitted from that execution the most (here).

(Oh, and one more thing – in both Kyle’s clips and this one, everyone was so busy creating a somewhat-justified Democratic Party equivalency that they let President Tiny Hands Impulse Control Egomaniac get away with the lie that he told once more about always opposing the Iraq war.)…

…and it looks like “Sponge Bob Square Pants” might end up working in the FDA under the “Gropenfuhrer” based on this (“seasteading”??)…

…and in light of this thoroughly depressing but totally predictable development, I just felt like hearing this song (once more, heckuva job, all you idiots who voted for “No Corporate Tax” Pat Toomey, “Bri-Fi,” and everyone else from the Trump Party, including the Big Orange Cheetoh himself).

Monday, February 06, 2017

Monday Stuff

(I also posted here - also, the cartoon may be hard to read; the title of the book in red says "Mitch McConnell Partisan Obstruction Playbook"...good one).

Rachel Maddow tells us about one of the crackpot courses of treatment that Trumpian Education Secretary Nominee Betsy DeVos invested in and makes a lot of $$$ from (by the way, I’ve called “No Corporate Tax” Pat Toomey’s office repeatedly to tell him to vote No but his voice mailbox is full – how con-vee-nient – and of course, I didn’t hear any complaints from Richard Burr when the Teahadists were launching their “grass roots” attacks against the Affordable Care Law, of course - and I’m pretty sure the segment she led into next had to do with this)…

…and yeah, I’d say that this is the kick in the teeth that somebody deserves (here)…

…and apparently, this Jen Sloot person doesn’t know how to spell “controversial” either (and “Obamacare wasn’t perfect on day one either..???” At least IT WAS SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY EXISTED, unlike the supposedly wonderful replacement plan the Repugs are allegedly concocting.)

And she’s HAPPY that the Gropenfuhrer is tweeting about utterly inconsequential BS at 3 and 4 in the morning? Well then, let me ask her a question; how well do you think Number 45 can actually function during the day when he’s barely had a decent night’s sleep, especially if he’s doing this stuff on a regular basis?

And I’m sorry this guy’s premium went up the way it did, but to blame the Affordable Care Law for this is utterly ridiculous. The Affordable Care Law DOESN’T SET PREMIUMS!! That’s up to the insurer! OMFG!!

Besides, did it occur to any of these people to contact an exchange and find out if they qualified for any kind of a credit?

(These life forms must watch nothing on TV but Fix Noise – here…)

…and I don’t know if this qualifies as a “message” song or not, but I like it, so here it is.

Friday, February 03, 2017

Friday Stuff

Kyle K. comments on Trump’s Yemen raid (NSFW - and don’t think this automatically absolves Obama completely, by the way – of course, it would have been NICE if we’d had an INTELLIGENT debate about drone attacks from those idiots in Congress, primarily Republican but some Democratic also…I will add a very slight qualifier for Trump in that I’m sure this plan was drawn up under Obama, but the buck stops you-know-where, as they say)…

…and Chris Hayes also responds on the Yemen attack, speaking with reporter Ken Dilanian and Congressman Adam Schiff (and no, I’m definitely not reassured either)…

…and Cenk and Ana tell us about the Trump voters’ family thrown out of the country from our beloved commonwealth (cue the world’s tiniest violin – how dumb could you be to vote for this guy and not expect this? And Cenk and Ana are right about PA making a difference the wrong way, sadly – I still think the fake news was a big factor; I can tell you right now that something on Facebook about the Pope supposedly supporting Trump would make an impact, and that was forwarded about 800,000 times before anybody knew what was going on)…

…and Thom Hartmann brings us the latest on Neil “Liberals Are Addicted To The Courtroom” Gorsuch, Fergus Laing’s nominee for the Supreme Court (and did you know Gorsuch was involved in Hobby Lobby? Well, he was)…

…and it’s time once more for another installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” (more or less) from 2/6/10 – Repug Sens. Richard Shelby, Jon Kyl and Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao blocked the appointment of cabinet-level positions in the Pentagon under former President Obama, something to remember the next time you hear any of these oh-so-august-in-their-imaginations members of “the world’s greatest deliberative body” bitching about Dem tactics in response to the child with impulse control issues currently taking up space in An Oval Office…

…and Lawrence O’Donnell does a “Rewrite” segment on Harley Davidson and the “Gropenfuhrer” (is there ANYTHING Number 45 WON’T lie about)…

…and sometimes you really don’t need to say a hell of a lot to make a great point (here)…

...and happy 70th birthday to Dave Davies of The Kinks.

Thursday Stuff

(By the way, in response to “The Donald,” I propose a general strike in this country on Friday 2/10. And I mean EVERYBODY. Any takers?)

To begin, Rachel Maddow brings us the latest on the anti-Trump resistance – I get concerned and I hope the response to the Gropenfuhrer hasn’t peaked too early (as well as the Dems maintaining their collective spine), but somehow I think the fraud and pretender taking up space in An Oval Office will continually generate enough outrage via his utter stupidity and cruelty to continue fanning the metaphorical flames (and is it my imagination, but did I actually see “Holy Joe” Lieberman at DeVos’s hearing?)…

…and Chris Hayes talks with Dem Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island about the crowd’s protest over Whitehouse’s vote to confirm Mike Pompeo to head the C.I.A., though it turns at the end to Neil Gorsuch, nominated by Generalissimo Trump for the SCOTUS – not going to war, so to speak, with Whitehouse over this (though I’m certainly no fan of Pompeo, bought and paid for by the Kochs), but kudos to Whitehouse for endorsing the protests…he should, but it’s nice that he does (by the way, the show from 2/1 led off with great interviews with Steve Schmidt, Rep. Joaquin Castro and David Miliband, but good luck trying to find them on MSNBC’s perpetually wretched web site)…

…and nice work by K.O. to draw the line between Twitter Tantrum Baby and Former Commander Codpiece…

…and Kyle K. tells us about the latest on the Repugs waging economic war on working men and women in this country (something to remember in light of this – NSFW)…

…and Sam Bee does her thing on the Sally Yates firing and other Trumpian stupidity (here)…

…and, when deciding to protest or not to protest, always remember the title of this song.

Wednesday Stuff

You’ll need to pack a lunch and a half for this, but if Sen. Elizabeth Warren can talk for an hour, the least we can do is watch it for that long – if you want to get a perspective on what Trump’s Muslim ban really means and how utterly ruinous and destructive it is (not just to those trying to get in, but to us overall as a nation), watch all of it…

…and I always believed FDR was our greatest president, and I feel that way even more after watching this clip from Thom Hartmann…

...and Seth Meyers weighs in on the recent stuff in the news concerning President Tiny Hands Big Orange Cheetoh...

…and Cenk and Ana talk about Neil Gorsuch, Fergus Laing’s Supreme Court nominee – I don’t know how nutty this guy is (though this isn’t a pedigree to be proud of as far as I’m concerned), but all I know is his name isn’t Merrick Garland, so…

…and Lee Camp, with humor, does his best to make the thoroughly serious point that the DAPL protests are still ongoing, despite what the tiny-handed, impulse-control-issues lunatic in An Oval Office tries to do…

…and RIP John Wetton of the “super group” Asia, among other “prog rock” bands (that smiling guy creeped me out a bit, and was that actually a Mickey Mouse watch? And thanks – I’m sure I’ll be seeing checkerboard wipes in my nightmares now).

Tuesday Stuff

(From here, and a typical wingnut response is here)...

We know K.O. has no trouble bringing the fire, as it were, in these commentaries, but I honestly believe there is some genuine sadness in what he says here, and of course I think he’s right.

There were a lot of reasons why we’re currently stuck with the petulant fraud of a pretender at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and we’ve rehashed them more than a few times already. But more than anyone else, the boomers (and that would include Olbermann and your humble narrator) have our metaphorical fingerprints all over this. And even though I fought this development as hard as I could, I also know that I’m partly responsible…

Update: And, inevitably perhaps, it has come to this.

...and as you might have guessed, Trump's ban wouldn't have done a damn thing about this (actually, you could argue that #45 maybe encouraged this behavior indirectly? - and uh, yep)...

Update: As an entity (with the notable exception of Shep Smith), that network is nothing but utterly unrepentant scum (here).

…and Chris Hayes talks to Sen. Sherrod Brown about the Dems filibustering Generalissimo Trump’s SCOTUS nominee (and by the way, I personally don’t have a problem revisiting the Merrick Garland nomination, even though it won’t happen of course...again, not a crime to be rich, but it's just a matter of what you do with it)…

…and given the recent firings, including this (perhaps the ONLY thing that the Gropenfuhrer can actually do well), isn't this interesting, particularly given the person asking the question...

…and in a pretty significant Sessions-related development, good for “Di-Fi” here…

…and thanks to our friends “across the pond” for this – makes me recall this tune.

Monday, January 30, 2017

Monday Stuff

I guess protesting the Gropenfuhrer every weekend is the new normal (this time over his utterly cruel and illegal Muslim ban)...so be it...

To start, John Iadarola of The Young Turks recorded this from LAX yesterday…

...and by the way, I think Rev. Al is spot-on here...

…and with the pic above in mind, here’s an ad that Generalissimo Trump doesn’t want you to see (more here - tomorrow is the sign-up deadline)…

…and there’s a veritable smorgasbord of garbage that comprises the nominees of President Big Orange Cheetoh, but while we quite rightly focus on Jeff Sessions, Betsy DeVos and Rick Perry (OMFG - as far as I'm concerned, trying to put that clown in charge of our nukes is an impeachable offense all by itself), let’s not forget about the character called out in this video too…

...and sticking with Rachel Maddow, here's a particularly important (IMHO) segment on the environment, punctuated somewhat by her "focus" comment at the very end (a few days late, but better than never)...

..and yesterday marked what would have been the 70th birthday of David Byron (nee David Garrick) of the ‘70s prog-rock band Uriah Heep (yeah, I guess this is a bit of a “message” song aimed at you-know-who and his pals; probably best to view this full screen – “this goes to 11,” by the way).

Saturday, January 28, 2017

Saturday Stuff

(I also posted here.)

I heard that the cabbies in New York City are also on strike in sympathy – good! And two of the first people detained were Iraqis who helped us during the war…way to go, President Big Orange Cheetoh! (apparently, though, that has been stayed – this is still a fluid, developing story so things could change on the fly and probably will - more here - I heard Sen. Bob Casey and Gov. Tom Wolf are on their way to Philly International and Sen. Elizabeth Warren is on her way to Logan Airport in Boston...latest here)...

...and yeah, I think this is appropriate...

Update: Awesome!

Update 1/29/17: More here (as well they should)...

...and "give him a chance"? Seriously?...

...and RIP John Hurt (clip is from "V for Vendetta"...and I wonder who Chancellor Adam Sutler reminds you of, by the way?)...

…and I hope John Kay is still getting royalties for those great Steppenwolf songs, because I think they’ll be timely again with the antics of President Tiny Hands Impulsive Brainless Egotistical Numbskull.

Friday, January 27, 2017

Friday Stuff

Once again, my hometown does me proud (here...and good job by Mayor Kenney here)…

...and Sam Bee is here again to bring us the gory details on the inauguration party for the “Gropenfuhrer” (here - remind me never to put up a Three Doors Down video again)…

…and Rachel Maddow tells us here that our alleged ol’ buddy Vlad Putin is trying to plug a proverbial leak of his own that could make life more difficult for his U.S. puppet in the White House…

…and in related news, Sam Seder tells us that President Big Orange Cheetoh is going to keep James Comey in charge of the FBI (Surprised? And NSFW, by the way)…

…and our man child in charge of this country decided to pull us out of the TPP – which, actually, the previous president did months ago (and good point about the federal hiring freeze by the way)…

…and here is the latest story of white violence from the white underclass from Kyle K. – nary a peep about this from Fix Noise, of course; truly awful stuff (and yeah, there’s pretty bad portions in The Good Book, though, like everything, it’s a matter of interpretation of course – NSFW also)…

…and I can’t let this week come to a close without paying another tribute to Mary Tyler Moore, in the role that made her initially famous (and yeah, the humor is somewhat dated and there are some “in” jokes in the show that you’d have to watch regularly to get, but still funny stuff as far as I’m concerned, after all these years – ends at about 24:53 and repeats for a few minutes)…

(clip taken down...sorry)

…and as long as I’m remembering celebrities who have departed, here’s another Warren Zevon tune to commemorate what would have been his 70th birthday last Tuesday (with Berry, Buck and Mills of REM...not sure he'd want to be remembered as a "celebrity," I'll admit).

Thursday, January 26, 2017

Thursday Stuff

K.O. has the right prescription for covering President Tiny Hands Clueless Egomaniac as far as I’m concerned (and bonus points for mentioning Johnny Carson character Floyd R. Turbo – you can Google it…and K.O. puts out there a truly dreaded Trumpian nightmare, which, tragically, is not beyond his capability whatsoever)…

…and Rachel Maddow brings us the latest public policy polling on you-know-who (as always, there’s about 30 percent of this country that will support anything from Dear Leader and oppose anything from those lazy, good-for-nothing, welfare-and-gay-and-minority-loving Democrats – removing my tongue from my cheek)…

…and I know we’ve been through a lot of this stuff by now, but I thought Seth Meyers had a nice take on all of the “alternative facts” stuff related to our current regime (though, to be serious, Trump’s speech to the CIA “spooks” was truly insulting, saying all of that in what is a hallowed place, though I'm sure Fergus Laing is too dumb and egotistical to understand that)…

…and RIP Butch Trucks of The Allman Brothers Band.

Update 1/27/17: Ugh - just prayers for him and family and friends...

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

Wednesday Stuff

(From here - nicely done)...

Cenk Uygur comments on the press somehow growing a spine and holding the Trump regime accountable (shocked that Jonathan Karl actually pushed back)…

...and I’m not sure if K.O.’s commentaries are better when he’s restrained or not – they’re highly effective either way…

…and Kyle K. tells about CREW’s suit against President Tiny Hands for violation of the Emoluments clause of the Constitution (though I think Kyle’s hypothetical about the Clinton Foundation is a little silly – she showed bad judgment on that stuff, but nothing like President Fergus Laing has done)…

…and you know it, you love it, and you just can’t get enough of it (well, maybe…), so here is yet another installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” from 1/25/10, in which the Teahadists are out in full force from back in the day; I’m replaying this just to remind us what we’re up against still (and do you really have to wonder how many of these clueless meat sacks actually voted for the “Gropenfuhrer”? And by the way, one of the rallying cries for these life forms was the debt, though they're strangely quiet about that now, mainly because it's lower than it's ever been after Obama and the "party of Lincoln" is about to blow it up again)…

…and we knew this day would eventually come, as it must for us all (here) – she fought against diabetes her whole life and was a tireless advocate against it, among her many other accomplishments; not only was she a fine comedienne but was also a thoroughly accomplished actress and businesswoman (and yeah, Laurie Petrie really rocked my world for yours truly “back in the day”).

There’s a lot I could say or do as a tribute, but how about if I present this clip (with yet another reminder that Betty White as the thoroughly unctuous Sue Ann Nivens was a work of comedy genius)…

(clip taken down - sorry...)

…as well as this tune.

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

Tuesday Stuff

K.O. gives us the latest on how Generalissimo Trump intends to bring our corporate media to heel – of course, that bunch is about halfway compromised already on balance, but President Big Orange Cheetoh is still sliding us into anarchy on that front too (and good job to remind us of the “Jeff Gannon” and Armstrong Williams garbage under Former Commander Codpiece)…

…and Robert Reich brings us the first 100 days of "The Resistance Agenda"…

…aided in part by the “Justice Democrats” movement initiated by Cenk Uygur and Kyle Kulinski (more here)…

…and Chris Hayes talks with Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood over President Big Orange Cheetoh reviving the utterly cruel and ruinous “Mexico City” policy, especially with the harsh new stuff in this latest version about Zika and more (but oh, those “family values” Repugs love the children oh so very much – and it’s almost Kubrickian…word?...to contemplate that that mean ol’ nasty Number 44, allegedly president of all of those welfare cheats, was the one who lowered abortion rates for real, while this latest garbage from “Donald Drumpf” will drive them back up again)…

…also, Rachel Maddow starts with telling us about the B2 bomber and ends with Generalissimo Trump’s declaration about taking Iraq’s oil and hinting ominously that "we may get another chance" (basically, we should do all we can to support our military of course, but to be honest, after watching this, I don’t think anyone should enlist in the Army or Marines until after this monster is impeached and forcibly removed from office)…

…and the one and only Warren Zevon would have been 70 today (I may feature at least one other tune this week).

Monday, January 23, 2017

Monday Stuff

Yeah, I would say that every picture tells a story, all right, as somebody sang once - easy to see who's the gentleman here and who isn't (and by the way, wingnuts, THAT is why Michelle Obama looked a little peeved – it had nothing to do with Melania’s gift)...

K.O. brings us #22 (a little behind of the Trump/Michael Flynn/Putin stuff I know, but still important to keep in mind)…

…and Robert Reich tells us about the infrastructure scam from President-Elect WATB (about what you would expect)…

…and Sam Seder talks to Matt Taibbi on buyer’s remorse for Trump (funny, but I never hear about “fake news” actually benefitting Democrats)…

…and when all else fails, there’s still ‘80s music (and with a timely message too).

Saturday, January 21, 2017

"Women's March" Stuff (updates)

Update 1: COOL!

Update 2: BWHAHAHAHAHA!!!! (more related to yesterday, I realize, but still beyond belief even for the "Gropenfuhrer").

Update 1 1/22/17: More here.

Update 2 1/22/17: I could have done without the profanity also, but I think Lawrence O’Donnell makes some great points here.

Update 3 1/22/17: I guess what else is there to say in response to this except “You’ve Got A Friend”?

Update 4 1/22/17: It begins...

Update 1/23/17: As far as I’m concerned, this is the equivalent of a no-confidence vote.
