Monday Stuff
What follows are clips from last Saturday’s No Kings protests in various locations across the country – we begin with a trip around Buffalo, NY and the Great Lakes, including Williamsville...
...next, we go across the country to Alameda, Oakland and San Francisco (nice job to make that beach sign, by the way...interview with former SF supervisor Gordon Mar)...
...there was also a protest in Mississippi (smaller crowd I’ll admit, but it all matters) – kind of sad that that state doesn’t have early voting...
...folks also came out in Little Rock, Arkansas...echoing similar themes of early voting and making a plan to vote on Election Day...
...and across North Texas also...
...next up is Salt Lake City, sharing similar themes of protecting democracy for future generations...
...also, Boise, Idaho (good idea also to volunteer for campaigns; even though it’s a little late for that, it’s not too late to make a plan to get folks to the polls and maybe do some last-minute phone banking or door knocking...just a thought)...
...Seattle as well (also with an emphasis on voting early...good job also to honor victims of ICE)...
...along with Portland, Oregon (about 4K folks protesting according to police...showing up to protest the Iran war, the rotten economy, rampant corruption including attack on LGBTQ rights, and on and on)...
...and Greenville, South Carolina (hundreds, again, with an emphasis on protecting the right to vote)...
...Albuquerque, New Mexico (good job by Dem U.S. House rep Melanie Stansbury, as opposed to that Repug woman running against her – “failed policies,” huh? Which party is it that’s in change of D.C. again?)...
...Chicago also, echoing similar themes (on behalf of both national and local issues)...
...next up are the twin cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul...
...Grand Rapids, Michigan...
...Plattsburgh, NY...
...also, folks in Chesapeake, VA braving the weather, including Navy vet Rick Bush...
...with similar concerns echoed in Asheville and elsewhere in North Carolina...
...Louisville, Kentucky and southern Indiana also, echoing similar themes (lower gas prices, protection for basic rights, etc.)...kudos to Morgan McGarvey also; no excuse whatsoever for any Democrat to not show up to one of these events...
...Madison, Wisconsin also...protestor “Sariah” mentions #47 saying he’ll let his lawyers worry about “Constitutionality,” or something to that effect (heightened a bit by the fact that Trumpist numbskull Tom Tiffany is running for governor in that state...and that Wisconsin GOP statement at the end is about as nutty as you would expect)...
...Vermont as well (Monkton I believe, and probably other towns including Burlington)...
...and Philly of course (kind of shocked to see the clip of Combover Caligula spewing more lies as usual, but I guess they need to present the crazy point of view for “balance,” though I think he’s actually right in a typically weird way...we SHOULD pretend he’s on the ballot - info on drop box locations in Bucks County, PA is here)...
...and if you're looking for a tune for the occasion, I'd like to offer the following.
