Friday Stuff

Cenk of TYT talks about the response of “little Marco,” among others, when confronted with the survivors of the Parkland, FL mass shooting (utterly beneath contempt – everyone but the kids, basically, including Anderson Cooper who told Sen. Bill Nelson he didn’t have to answer the question, or whatever…the fact that Nelson was sympathetic I’m sure doesn’t excuse Cooper’s cowardly move to let Nelson off the hook; facing angry constituents comes with the job when you’re a pol, something that Cooper, a member of our courtier Beltway corporate media, has apparently forgotten)…

…and “crisis actors”? I have a two-word response to a comment like that, and that response isn’t “happy birthday”…

…and God, “Joe Scar” actually found the proverbial nut on the Parkland shooting, in terms of who does better financially, though, of course, he had to play his cutesy BS with Mika-Scar at the end (my response to this…more here and here)…

…and brace yourselves; I know this will be a shock, but the Trump & Congressional Repug tax cuts are probably not helping your paycheck, according to David Pakman (only 37 percent of voters have seen their income increase – good for Amazon, though, apparently; them that’s got shall get of course…)…

…and Rachel Maddow tells us about “blue” state governors sharing gun background check data (NY, CT, RI and NJ – can PA be far behind, I hope? And Cuomo has been a bad actor at other times, but I think he deserves kudos here, especially in the last minute)…

…and for anyone out there with the Showtime premium cable TV network, I highly recommend another great documentary from that channel, and that’s “Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars,” which gets into a lot of personal detail including the awful way he was treated by his mother, his deep friendship with Jimi Hendrix and his even deeper relationship with Pattie Boyd…we all knew she was the inspiration for “Layla,” but really she was that for the entire Derek and the Dominoes album, which included this great tune among so many others.

Thursday Stuff

Once again, Jimmy Kimmel stands tall in the face of horrific gun-related tragedy (here)…

…and Stephanie Ruhle tells us about someone named Levi Patterson raffling off an AR-15 (and no, I don’t think it’s that damn hard to understand the disagreement – remind me never to visit Neosho, Missouri)…

…and this is a couple of days old from Lawrence O’Donnell, but it’s too important not to include here…

…and FINALLY!, a Democrat stands tall in response to all of the Repug “sanctuary cities” garbage out there, and that's Andrew Gillum; as far as I’m concerned, if Repugs want to pass “show us your papers” laws all over the country, then that would turn these places into “detention” cities then, wouldn’t it (try finding a clue on the messaging for once, OK Dems?)…

…and here’s another great way to effect political change…

…and given all of the stuff in the news, this may be a tongue-in-cheek selection, but I still think it rocks, so here it is; I led off with Kimmel, so I might as well finish with him (love the trippy camera effects at about 2:45).

Wednesday Stuff

Stephen Colbert mutes the humor, and rightly so, in light of the Parkland, FL shootings…

…and apparently, Rachel Maddow contacted the U.S. State Dept. about Russian sanctions, and they suggested asking Russia about U.S. State Dept. business…gee, I guess that just about makes it official, huh (Update: They later denied the GRU guy was even here - as we know, this bunch is so trustworthy, so of course I believe that - snark)…

…and once in a while, The Moustache of Understanding finds the proverbial nut (and “shame”? We’re talking about the Gropenfuhrer and his wretched party, let’s not forget)…

…and I’m not in the least surprised by this…

…oh, and before we shed a tear for Billy Graham, I would ask that you keep the following in mind; this call with Number 37 took place in April 1971 (more context is here and here)…

…and yeah, I guess this tune applies to Graham and other notables, in a certain context I suppose.

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

Tuesday Stuff

Ali Velshi talks with author David Daley and tells us more on PA’s utterly gerrymandered map of voting districts and the PA Supreme Court’s decision to redraw our entire commonwealth (and why is this utterly predictable?)…

…and Rachel Maddow tells us the tale of Charlotte Fedders, someone who is truly heroic in my book for defending herself not just against her monstrously abusive ex-husband, but also for coming to the side of Lisa Fiertein, victimized under similar circumstances by one-time Trump Labor Dept. Head nominee Andy Puzder…

…and in case anything thinks I’m ready to move on from the latest mass shooting, this time in Parkland, FL, I can assure that I’m not; when I hear the phrase "I'm a firm believer in the Second Amendment," I want to vomit in my mouth, but I still think this guy deserves credit for this...

…and in a similarly tragic vein, I give you another installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” (again, more or less), from 2/23/11, in which Dr. Robert Cowie courageously shared the horrific loss of his daughter Ashley at the hands of a drunken, drugged-up fool with an AK-74 weapon of mass death (more here)…

…and I liked the video that Rachel Reddick put up a little while ago, but this is damn impressive too from Scott Wallace (and a hell of a pedigree too!), also running for the Dem nomination for PA-08 (or whatever the new district will be); great to see two strong Dems emerging to take on Mikey The Beloved’s spineless brother (I had some slim hopes for Bri-Fi, but he flushed them when he sold out for the tax scam of Generalissimo Trump and the two craven life forms running that party from each chamber of Capitol Hill)…

...and happy belated 70th birthday to Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.

Monday, February 19, 2018

Monday Stuff

John and Cenk of TYT bring us a report on the indictments against 13 Russians brought by Special Counsel Robert Mueller; yeah, this doesn’t touch the Gropenfuhrer’s inner circle – yet – but I think we need to keep this in mind too…

…and kudos to Emma Gonzalez – not sure I can do justice to her incredible speech…I think the best thing to do is just present it and get out of the way…

…and nice work here also by Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr…

…and it’s taken awhile for me to get around to this great (comparatively) new tune, but here it is.

Saturday, February 17, 2018

Saturday Stuff

“Yeah, no it isn’t” is damn right – can’t fake the quivering in Jimmy Kimmel’s voice, which is commendable as far as I’m concerned…long past time to do something about guns in this country (here...and I liked this response also)…

...and this gives us an idea of the type of mentality we're up against...

…and I’m sure the people in the prior clip are fed a daily regimen of the type of bile inflicted by Fix Noise on this and many other issues (the very last commenter is right, but of course that nematode Bret Baier shoots her down, so to speak)…

...though I think the kids coming up are way smarter than too many of the damn adults on this issue (and in a related story...)...

…and to say I’m desperately looking for “good” news here is an understatement, and I have it (returning to the Sunshine State), and that would be Dem Margaret Good’s win in Florida's 72nd state district this week (a district the Gropenfuhrer won by 5 points in 2016)…

…and maybe it’s a little trite to keep putting up these gun tunes, but if it helps keep this issue front and center, then so be it.

Friday, February 16, 2018

Friday Stuff

Rachel Maddow tells us more about the latest gun carnage at Florida's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (and this is typical)…

...and my very deepest possible sympathies go out to the mother of this beautiful young girl senselessly slaughtered, but as Jimmy Kimmel said, this Congress has its balls, if you will, in an NRA money clip - the thing to do is to vote these bastards out once and for all, and if the new bastards end up sucking up to the NRA teat also, then vote those bastards out too (here)...

…and “what about the rights of these students” indeed…

…and no disrespect to Farron Cousins, but to say that “thoughts and prayers” aren’t working is an understatement…

...and Cenk of TYT tells us about the fake news for real, if you will, in response...

…and switching back to other news, which I know we have to do, Kyle K. tells us about Generalissimo Trump’s budget and how horrific it is…increasing the military of course, but a 42.3 percent cut to everything else (NSFW)…

…and I think this is truly some spot-on analysis from Chris Hayes on DACA (see “vote out the bastards” as previously noted)…

…and I will be truly happy when, one fine day, there will NEVER be a need to include a gun song in one of these posts (even though this is a great tune).

Thursday, February 15, 2018

Thursday Stuff

The only thing that the execrable life forms currently taking up space on Capitol Hill will understand on any issue (but the one related to this in particular) is pressure and force. So, to contact your U.S. House Representative, click here. And to contact your U.S. Senator, click here (and I think we need to keep this in mind also).

And as a reminder, here is Jimmy Kimmel on the Las Vegas mass shooting – I may replay this video over and over until these horrible people named Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are somehow shamed or disgraced into doing something about our horrific epidemic of gun violence; yeah I know, as someone once sang, you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one…

...and here is a Now This video news update (more here)...

…and Cenk and John are both spot-on IMHO concerning the words of Dem CT Sen. Chris Murphy in light of our latest carnage…

Update: If the alleged shooter had been Muslim or dark-skinned in any way, our great big orange turd in the White House would have been railing about that. But since he isn’t, I guess 45 thinks it’s easier to blame the victims instead (here); the kids were too busy trying not to get killed to “Make America Great Again” I guess.

...and I think these were appropriate words from former Supreme Court Justice Warren Burger (a Republican, let's not forget)...

...and in a related vein, let's not froget this either from "No Corporate Tax" Pat Toomey...

…and nothing against the “man in black,” but with guns so ubiquitous in our culture, there never seems to be a shortage of songs about them, and here’s another one.

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Wednesday Stuff

I give you yet another slice of life, if you will, from Donald J. Trump’s America (and yeah, I think the comment about “finally” being able to demonstrate that the “lady” in question is a racist a-hole is telling also)…

…and here’s another fine video from Robert Reich about the latest scam from our ruling cabal of crooks and frauds, this time on infrastructure…

…and Chris Hayes talks with Ben Howe and Annie Lowery on Generalissimo Trump’s typically ridiculous food stamp “box lunch” proposal (oh, and please remind me once more how allegedly awful Michelle Obama’s initiative for healthier foods in schools supposedly was – the remark at the end about this just being a way to make it harder to obtain nutrition assistance was spot-on; no constructive policy at all, just typical mean-spirited crap from our Tiny Handed, Treasonous Orange Dictator)…

…and this is about a week old, but David Pakman tells us how Number 45 and his buddies are still doing their best to utterly screw over Puerto Rico (harking back to infrastructure also)...

…and I thought this was a nice selection for Valentine’s Day…

…and for the opposing point of view, I give you this; may have to crank the volume a bit :-)...and no, I’m not trying to put down the #MeToo movement or anything by including this, which I’ve done for years…if we can’t look inside ourselves and laugh at our imperfections any more, then I really think we’ve gone around the proverbial bend.

Update: Dear God, not again (more you-know-what are on the way I'm sure).

Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Tuesday Stuff

Hey, did you hear the story about Repug U.S. House Rep Devin Nunes, House Intelligence Committee head whitewashing everything Generalissimo Trump did with Putin investigating Russia’s influence in our elections in 2016, and his efforts to build an honest-to-goodness wall between the Repugs and their Dem committee colleagues? Sadly, though, it’s not an intentional joke...

…and this tells us of Lissa Lucas of West Virginia, removed from a hearing for naming campaign donors to the members of the House of Delegates (yeah, we need A LOT more like this, as Farron Cousins sez)…

…and Kyle K. tells us about the Gropenfuhrer’s attack ad on the Dems of course after the SOTU – a little behind on this I know, but it deserves to be pointed out (NSFW)…

…and former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich tells about “rise up” vs. “trickle down” economics – I like the messaging…

…and I keep hearing about Dem Conor Lamb running for the U.S. House in our beloved commonwealth in an upcoming special election; to help, click here (and I think this ad is a nice companion piece to the Reich video)…

…and happy upcoming 75th birthday to Maceo Parker.

Monday, February 12, 2018

Monday Stuff

Yeah, clever stuff by Trevor Noah (tied into the pic above somewhat)…

…and Trumpster EPA head Scott Pruitt thinks climate change is good; yeah, try telling that to Capetown, South Africa, which is about to run out of water…

…oh, and Farron Cousins reminds us here that Trump’s tax cuts are tanking the economy…

…and the U.S. is woefully behind other developed countries when it comes to paid parental leave…

…and Trevor Noah alluded to Fix and Fiends a bit in the clip above, but Carlos Maza tells us more about how influential they are, unfortunately, when it comes to what passes for Number 45’s decision making…

…and I don’t think I’ve “rocked out” for a little while here, or at least it feels like awhile, so here’s my attempt to fix that.

Friday, February 09, 2018

Friday Stuff

I would say that Bill Maher was pretty spot-on here with his words about the Gropenfuhrer and his stinking wall (and Number 45's utterly lame-brained supporters...NSFW)…

…and Seth Meyers tells us about the latest antics of Generalissimo Trump and his pals (including RoJo) on alleged conspiracies (to say nothing of real ones), as well as the Rob Porter garbage…

…and while our tiny-handed orange dictator casually accuses those who oppose him of treason, I thought it would be instructive to bring you another installment of “This Day in Doomsy History” (more or less) from 2/9/10 (here), in which we note the 68th anniversary of former Repug U.S. Senator Joe McCarthy alleging that 200 employees of the State Department were communists, responded to brilliantly by David Strathairn channeling Edward R. Murrow in the following clip (with, of course, people whose lives and careers were in fact ruined with treasonous innuendo by calling them communists)…

…and Kyle of Secular Talk tells of our current regime trying to cut funding in renewable energy; clueless as always, and the Capetown, South Africa thing is really a great big WTF? story all right (NSFW once more)…

…also, Ana, along with Mark Thompson and Maytha Alhassen of TYT, tell us about Sheriff Oddie Shoupe in Tennessee taking down suspect Michael Dial (and deputy Adam West? Not at all funny, so I’m not trying to joke about this; I give the deputy…Adams?...credit for showing humanity and being distraught…I don’t know what this guy’s rap sheet was, but I still don’t think that justifies what happened…and yeah, the sheriff is that big of an a-hole…NSFW also)…

...and RIP John Perry Barlow of The Grateful Dead (here).

Thursday, February 08, 2018

Thursday Stuff

As I’ve said, pot should be decriminalized at a minimum, but legalization to me is a slippery slope; it should probably be treated just like alcohol, but the response from our “immunity gnome” of an AG on this is beyond a joke…

…and kudos to Nancy Pelosi for standing up for the DREAMers – wouldn’t it be nice if the U.S. Senate Dems possessed the same backbone? I would guess this is part of the reason why conservatives hate her so much (and the fact that she’s a woman is just an added bonus as far as they’re concerned)...

…and here is more on the DREAMers – nothing but a “clean DREAM” bill matters…

…and Ari Melber talks with Jess McIntosh (and boy, is she right about mid-term elections!) and Gina Ortiz Jones (more here), running to unseat an apparently vulnerable U.S. House Repug in Texas (along with Repug electoral garbage going on in Scott Walker-stan as well as our own beloved commonwealth)…

…and it looks like the Gropenfuhrer, being the tin pot dictator at heart that he truly is, wants a military style parade – what a colossal waste of taxpayer $$ when so much in this country needs to be done (requiring common sense spending to fix)…

…well, as you may have heard, we had a little parade of our own here today for a certain World Championship football team that we know and love (well, most of us), and it put me in the mind to hear this tune.

Wednesday, February 07, 2018

Wednesday Stuff

Oh yeah, tell me again how virtuous Sen. Mr. Elaine Chao and Repug U.S. Rep Mr.-Puppy-Dog-Eyes-With-The-Shiv supposedly are…

…and leave it to the Gropenfuhrer to claim that someone like this is allegedly “spiritual” (this idiot could be responsible for a public health emergency over this..."healed by his stripes"? WHAAAA???)…

…and I have to stick to my principles a bit here and point out that, even though we’re talking about a celebration for our Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles (damn, it feels good to say that!), the BLM folks definitely have a point (vandalism is never OK for anybody)…

…and I’ll admit that this is a bit of a tangent, but while we all take the time to toast the Birds for pulling off the win in “Supe 52,” let’s not forget to give props to this guy pictured below – I remember how bad this team was before he took over, and though he didn’t get us to the proverbial mountaintop, he sure turned this team into a professional sports organization once more…

…returning to the news/political stuff, Michael Brooks tells us more about the line from Generalissimo Trump that "Americans are DREAMers too," along with that horrible and thoroughly exploitative political ad (more here, and once more, it was wrong of Wilson to show "Birth of a Nation," but he was conned into doing so - have to know the story...facts for sure at about 2:30)...

...and yeah, I think this bears repeating from Chris Hayes about the shenanigans of former FBI director James Comey during the 2016 presidential election (something to remember in light of this)...

…and while I was in Eagles green mode with my tunes over the last couple of weeks, I also didn’t acknowledge the birthday of Lucinda Williams, so I’d like to do so here.

Tuesday, February 06, 2018

Tuesday Stuff

Isn’t it curious how those lemmings who still support Dear Treasonous, Tiny Handed Orange Leader have not a word to say about this, for the most part anyway?...

…and Cenk of TYT had some good analysis IMHO on the “$1.50” cluelessness from Mr.-Puppy-Dog-Eyes-With-The-Shiv…

…and for anyone who thinks the market isn’t paying attention, I give you this (and you know what? As far as I’m concerned, if you run your mouth and take credit when the stock market does well, you should take the hit when it does badly too, as noted here, though, to be fair, the market appeared to rebound today)…

…and I honestly believe that there is no bottom when it comes to the life form currently taking up space in An Oval Office – once again, heckuva job, all of you assclowns who had anything whatsoever to do with installing this despicable fraud…

…and Rachel Maddow tells us about the Dem rebuttal to the Nunes memo (with Dem U.S. Rep Eric Swalwell; the Gropenfuhrer apparently has 5 days to figure out what to do about it – yeah, nice try by team “D,” but do you seriously think he ISN’T actually going to punt on it?)…

...and while I was in Eagles'-tunes mode, I missed a couple of birthdays, including Melody Gardot.

Monday, February 05, 2018

Monday Stuff

Unless you have endured all of the years of utter, abject futility with The Philadelphia Eagles, you cannot know how momentous their victory in Super Bowl LII (oh, screw it – 52!) truly is.

I mean, there were the years of Ed Khayat (as a coach – as a player, he was a member of the 1960 Eagles team, which was, until last night, the last one to win a championship), Mike McCormack, Marion Campbell as a head coach, Rich Kotite and the wet laminated clip board, to say nothing of big mouth Buddy Ryan, Cadillac dealership owner and team owner also (for a time) Norman Braman, Leonard Tose trying to sell the team to pay off gambling debts (who preceded Braman), Horst Muhlmann who was cut by Dick Vermeil because he didn’t execute an onside kick (nothing against Vermeil, though, I hasten to add), offensive lineman Ed George who literally held on every play, running back Lee Bouggess who couldn’t find an open hole in the line if his life depended on it (not that the Birds gave him that many to begin with)…I could go on and on.

But last night took care of all of that. And now, the fourth of the four major sports teams in Philadelphia (sorry if I’m slighting the Soul or anyone else), has WON IT ALL!!!!

Here is a clip on the festivities from the local Action News station (oh, and by the way, if you buy a Dodge RAM truck after this, then I have no patience for you)…

...and here's a great NowThis video...

…and as far as I’m concerned, all the the Iggles are flying high right now, but I think there’s a special place for Chris Long…

…and I should probably return to my “bread and butter,” as it were, with this clip of Cenk on the alleged popularity of the tax giveaway from Generalissimo Trump and the Repugs…

…and Kyle tells us about the Gropenfuhrer’s latest lies, this time on prescription drug prices (NSFW)…

..and I only put this tune up one other time in 2008 because that was the only other time it was ever appropriate, and I’m ecstatic actually to be able to do it again.

Sunday, February 04, 2018

Sunday Stuff

Chris Hayes tells us the latest on the Nunes memo (and good work too by Amy Klobuchar, but yeah, she bailed at the end on who she was wanted to win in LII - oh well)...

…and Rachel Maddow provided what I thought was some good follow-up on that subject with senior Dem on the U.S. House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff - yet another nothing-burger from the "party of Lincoln"...

…and I think Dem U.S. Rep Pramila Jayapal is spot-on here (in response to Generalissimo Trump and the SOTU of course)…

…and today’s the day, guys, at long last – we believe!

Friday, February 02, 2018

Friday Stuff

For a guy who’s a comic, I have to admit that this is a pretty damn good analysis of the latest Trumpster nonsense over the Devin Nunes memo, which, apparently, is as big of a nothing-burger as we suspected all along (here); however, it will be a pretext for the wingnuts apparently to attack anyone who dares question Dear Tiny Handed, Treasonous Orange Leader…

…and gosh, whaddaya know? There’s actually a SECOND Trump dossier, and apparently it corroborates the first one…uh, yep…

…oh, and where is that “dictionary of good governance”? Let’s see now, conflict of interest, conflict of interest…what’s that again?...

…and I give you the latest installment of “This Day In Doomsy History” (more or less) from 2/4/09 – I would ask that you keep this clip in mind the next time you see Michael Steele appearing on "Real Time,” “All In,” or any other show where he is supposed to be a “moderate” Repug, as noted here…in the clip, he says that the government doesn’t create jobs…umm, my father had a very responsible job in the federal government for years that had an awful lot to do with paying for the roof over our heads, food on the table, and the rest of what you could call life’s necessities…and Steele claimed that the “2 to 4 million jobs won’t happen” as a result of the stimulus – actually, as Politico reported here in 2011, Steele was wrong of course…Steele had an opportunity to make a difference, but being a good little Repug at heart, he fell in line just like the rest of that bunch instead - "I don't know what the hell happened," huh? Cry me a freaking river!

Update 2/7/18: Facts...

…and I would say that NY Dem Congressman Hakeem Jeffries is pretty “woke” based on this…

…and speaking of “woke,” I have no doubt that the Birds will be that on Sunday; yes indeed, Super Bowl LII (or 52, basically) is approaching, and here is the last “green” tune, the most rousing one of the bunch for my money (I think I missed at least one – sorry about that).

FLY, EAGLES, FLY!

Thursday, February 01, 2018

Thursday Stuff

(Hat tip to John Fugelsang for the pic, which speaks volumes as far as I'm concerned)....

Former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich reminds us to keep our eye on the proverbial ball when it comes to the social safety net, to say nothing of income inequality overall (and for EVERY generational demographic, it should be noted)…

…and in response to this story about PA Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati deciding not to obey the ruling of the PA Supreme Court in our commonwealth’s gerrymandering case, I have only this to say in response…

Update 2/5/18: YES!

…and I have a hard time trying to imagine just how horrible you have to be to be capable of the act depicted in this video; cruel, stupid, inhumane…this man lived and worked in this country for 30 years and raised a family – not good enough for ICE and the Trumpsters, though…

…and just remember that, every time Generalissimo Trump spews his bile about supposedly making our country safer, his wretched policies are doing the exact opposite, as noted in this clip (and "good moral character" from a foul, contemptible gutter snipe capable of this?)…

Update: Sick bastard...

…and Cenk of TYT tells us here that Repug U.S. House Rep Rodney Frelinghuysen is yet another member of his party who won’t seek re-election this fall (along with this life form, who no doubt will be able to spend more time trying to find the “real” Benghazi culprits)…

…and here is my penultimate “green” tune for our Iggles – rooting them on for Super Bowl Sunday.

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Wednesday Stuff

Apparently last night’s SOTU sh*tshow was every bit as bad as you could imagine – heckuva job once more, all of you numbskulls who played a role in making sure this treasonous, lying orange fraud ascended to power (and this is a typical move)…

…and John, Cenk, Ana and Ben of TYT offer the needed perspective also as far as I’m concerned (I don’t want to imagine the utter depths of deceit and intellectual depravity that would have to exist for someone to utter the phrase “beautiful clean coal” and appear to actually believe it)…

…and Jimmy Kimmel offered what I thought were some spot-on observations also…

…and kudos to this Canadian doctor who’s fed up with Repug Party lies about our health care vs. that of his country…

…and when it comes to spending obscene amounts of money for health care and not getting the same outcomes in our country vs. that of other countries, I can’t think of a more appropriate follow-up story (to say nothing of more depressing) than this one from Kyle K. (NSFW)…

...and I've got a few more "green" tunes left for our Iggles, and here's one.

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Tuesday Stuff

I know I usually don’t lead off with a tune, but I thought I would on this occasion, particularly since the lyrics seem to fit as far as I’m concerned…

…and gosh, don’t look now, but our corporate media actually performed some analysis behind the lies of the Gropenfuhrer…

…and Lawrence O’Donnell speaks with David Leonhardt about probably the most detailed case in print media yet for holding Generalissimo Trump’s feet to the proverbial fire (and yes, lying to the American people matters…”the old gray lady” aggravates the crap out of me sometimes, but they’re also “on the beam” at other times like now, I have to admit)…

…and Bernie never lets us forget who truly emerged as the winners in that horrible GOP tax scam bill, along with Frank Clemente of Americans for Tax Fairness (as if we needed proof, I should note that the popup ads on YouTube praising that supposedly “independent” voice for PA-08, none other than “Bri-Fi,” a bigger toady than his equally wretched brother, have already started showing up)…

…and speaking of wretched Republicans, Will Ferrell recently reminded us of one whose ruinous reign still contaminates our memory (funny stuff, though)…

…and I have a few “green” tunes left, and here’s another one (like wow maan...and yeah, they messed up the lip-sync too).

Monday, January 29, 2018

Monday Stuff

I thought these were some apropos (and very NSFW) words from former Mexican president Vicente Fox about the Gropenfuhrer and his stupid wall, something to keep in mind during the SOTU tonight tomorrow (which I have absolutely zero intention of actually watching, by the way)…

…and as long as I’m including “blue” language, here is more from Repug strategist Rick Wilson from “Real Time” a couple of nights ago (NSFW again...unbelievable even for those sheep)…

…and what follows is the official NRCC statement on donating all of the $$ raised by Steve Wynn, now accused of sexually-related misconduct (here)...oh, and apparently, Mr.-Puppy-Dog-Eyes-With-The-Shiv is going to return his Wynn $$, as noted here - hilarious since he’s probably getting all of that and more from Chucky and Davey Koch…return ALL RNC money from Wynn or you’re even bigger hypocrites and frauds than you are already (here and here)…

…and in a related story, as it were, I have to point out, once more, that if men got pregnant, you wouldn’t be able to turn around without seeing an ad for a morning-after pill or an “extraction” clinic somewhere, brought to you by ESPN and Maxim Magazine of course (and I realize that it’s damn near impossible for a politician in PA to get elected without support of the Catholic Church, but I still think this stinks to high heaven, you might say, from Bob Casey)……

Update 1/30/18: Victory for now, but you KNOW they'll try again (here)...

…and I’m sure our Treasonous Tiny Handed Orange Dictator wanted the metaphorical scalp, you might say, of Andrew McCabe before he gave his stinking speech tonight (here, here and here) – can you imagine that, rightly or wrongly, there was actually a time when the FBI was held to such an exemplary standard that they even had their own TV show? Yes Virginia, there was a time when not every damn thing in the world had to be political (well, maybe to a lesser degree anyway), and that included that organization also (and by the way, how is this NOT obstruction of justice?)...

Update 1/30/18: My point exactly...

…and from the same era as the TV show clip, I give you today’s “green” tune for our Iggles.

Sunday, January 28, 2018

Sunday Stuff

I have some videos where I’m a little “behind the curve” I’ll admit, but I wanted to take this opportunity to get them out there anyway.

Mike Papantonio has a story here about banks stealing from consumers with overdraft fees in particular (most infamously, Skank of America – sometimes the Putin Network actually does some good work, as much as I hate to admit it, as long as it makes us look bad of course, but It’s not the Russian dictator’s fault if we’re shooting ourselves in the foot without anyone else’s help)…

…and I think some of what is pointed out in the prior video is also noted here by Mike Lux…

…and I typically don’t comment on international stuff a lot unless it affects this country, and killing the rabbi was wrong even if the home was built illegally which may have been the case, but after watching this video, I have one question: when have you ever heard of an olive tree actually killing anybody?...

…and I’m taking a break from my “green” selections for this oldie, truly one of the great “cowbell” tunes of all time – RIP Hugh Masekela.

Friday, January 26, 2018

Friday Stuff

Rachel Maddow speaks with presidential historian Michael Beschloss about the latest Nixonian twists concerning our Tiny Handed, Treasonous Orange Dictator…

…and leading into Lawrence O’Donnell – gosh, color me shocked: Mr.-Puppy-Dog-Eyes-With-The-Shiv, that supposedly Christian man, is a thoroughly unrepentant liar…

…oh, and by the way, I think it bears repeating that Generalissimo Trump is killing tourism…

…and I know I haven’t had anything to say on the horrors surrounding USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar (here, here and here), but only because I didn’t have anything particularly brilliant to add except to point out what people with an ounce of decency and common sense already know; namely, that he’s a thoroughly amoral monster who deserves whatever happens to him – obviously, these brave women who stood up to him deserve all of the gratitude and support we can provide…

Update: More Trumpian monster garbage (here)...

Update 1/27/18: Good!

…and here’s an overseas-related item also, namely, the Gropenfuhrer abroad, in Davos to be exact (and gosh, I wonder what supposedly innovative idea Susan Collins will come up with next after the talking stick? Maybe a magic 8 ball?)...

…and here’s another “green” tune for our Iggles (and from a band with a guy named Green, for that time anyway).

Thursday Stuff

Chris Hayes talks with Dem U.S. House Rep Adam Schiff about this supposedly explosive memo from U.S. House Intelligence Chair Devin Nunes on the FBI’s allegedly conspiratorial investigation of the Gropenfuhrer, which of course is total nonsense, as Rep. Schiff explains…

…and I always like it when someone goes after our corporate media with initials for names and all, and good for Bernie Sanders for that here; as I watched this, I thought of what a damn idiot Fran Leibowitz was for trashing him last year on “Real Time” with Salman Rushdie…

…and I realize that some of the Franklin Graham stuff is repetitive, but I think it’s worth it to revisit the issue of the hypocrisy of these so-called preachers who are totally “in the tank” for Generalissimo Trump (so the Big Orange Cheetoh gets a "mulligan"? WHAAAA??)...

…and a lot of times I know, I ridicule the typical Trump voter because I think they deserve what they got, but I’m genuinely sympathetic to this lady; yes, she made a truly awful decision, but I believe she was in earnest, and a pox on the HRC campaign and our previously-mentioned corporate media for utterly failing her…

…and here is another well-meaning American trying to do the right thing without getting utterly screwed over by the “party of Lincoln”…

…and here’s another “green” tune for our Super Bowl-bound Iggles.
