Thursday Stuff

Mr. and Mrs. Scar along with Willie Geist, Gabriel Sherman (I think that’s who it is) and David Ignatius discuss Mango Mussolini making more noise about taking the U.S. out of NATO, and if that isn’t a blaring red siren to the world that #47 IS NOTHING BUT A PUTIN OPERATIVE, then I don’t freaking know what is...NATO has ensured the relative peace and stability in Europe for decades, helping to avoid large-scale ground wars in that region since World War II (in which my father fought along with millions of others)...and props to Former President Biden for signing the law saying that no president can take the U.S. out of NATO without congressional approval – I mean, not that Combover Caligula will care, but the legal stuff still matters in a big way of course (and funny, but I don’t hear any of the numbskulls carping about “Sleepy Joe” giving him credit for that, like this utter fool)...and by the way, “Mika’s Dad” was this guy; yes, he was a cold warrior in good and bad ways, but at least he knew who the enemy was...I would like to have seen some more full-throated outrage aimed at the “party of Lincoln” for babying our *preznit on this and everything else, but I guess a polite slap on the wrist is as far as that will go...



...and believe me when I tell you that, for the most part, I wouldn’t give CPAC the time of day, but I definitely thought it was noteworthy to see the crowd reaction to mentioning still another potential impeachment that may be inflicted on the Tangerine Toddler, as Jen Psaki tells us (and no, Matt Schlapp, you can’t treat the crowd the same way as when you groped a man at a Virginia bar, as noted here – allegedly!)...



...and Brian Tyler Cohen tells us that, in another sign that the “party of Lincoln” is bracing for an electoral whoopin’ this fall, Repug Sam Graves of Missouri won’t seek re-election in the House, and that brings the total for his party to 36 who are departing, with the most from the “R” team stepping down in about a century...some of those interviews might be repeats, but I have no problem with showing them again...”a party of either despots or cowards” indeed...

...and this New York Times clip discusses “Club America,” which is apparently the effort to install Turning Point USA chapters in high schools across the country (and as always for the other side, there is never a shortage of dough to bankroll this stuff)...I don’t know if it’s possible for Democrats/progressives to try and launch their own movement, or if they did what their message would be (and policies of course), but this describes the uphill battle we face with the current and next generation of voters (basically, just saying “orange man bad!” isn’t NEARLY good enough)...and by the way, I’m not trying to beat up some of the high schoolers in this clip, including the missionary son; I believe they’re misguided politically, but I would never say they don’t have the right to their opinion (despite the fact that the movement they support in both an actual and de facto way wants to utterly squash those voicing dissent, notably lefties/Dems/progressives)...



...and Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show” gives us a rundown on the news...yeah, I know Trumpty Dumpty gave a prime-time address on his war of choice in Iran (here), but unless he says “I resign,” I have no interest in hearing one damn word out of his lying mouth...and it’s “12 dimensional chess”? That’s an interesting euphemism for “I’m in waaaay over my head, I don’t know what the hell I’m doing and apparently nobody else can clean up my mess”...and awwww, it looks like his bought-and-paid-for SCOTUS isn’t going to end birthright citizenship for him – c’est dommage, so OF COURSE #47 had a great big hissy fit and stormed out of the hearing...and good luck to our great astronauts on the Artemis II mission to the moon...and if it were probably anybody else on the planet besides Karoline Leavitt, I would care about a photo being removed because it was “unflattering,” but as far as I’m concerned, that propaganda queen deserves what she gets...



...and I’m probably overdue with this newer selection which is timely just about every day...and by the way, I know I’m falling into the trap of covering all of the madness from our ruling regime and letting that crowd out other stuff like policy that could make a more direct impact on people’s lives, but if “Team D” would EVER provide those details, I would be more than happy to oblige them and publicize that stuff here (yeah I know, I can dream, can’t I?).
