To say that this clip contains some rather prophetic commentary from former U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter is an understatement – I’d honestly forgotten that Souter voted against the majority in Bush v. Gore also, which makes him even more worthy of my respect, for what it's worth...

…also, John Oliver gave what I thought was a great commentary on third-party candidates earlier this week; I think Jill Stein is well meaning but way out of her depth, and Gary Johnson is just an idiot (but hey, how about that “Joe Exotic”? Think he’s a “game-changer”?? – snark)…



…and this is easily the funniest development of the week – God, that would be hilarious is somehow “Goober” Gohmert ended up in charge of the U.S. House Repug “leadership” (volume fades in and out a bit, especially where he says “Thank God for Andrew Breitbart” – some of this is funny but some of it is also just incredible idiotic…and let’s not forget this gem also - more here)…



...and Number 44 gives us a reminder as to how "Fergus Laing" rose to prominence, with Chris Hayes and Jon Lovett (this may put me off Risotto for awhile, by the way - and "there's no sin like losing," indeed...clip is a little behind the news cycle I'll admit, but not by a lot)...



…and happy belated birthday to Tom Petty (“Spike,” a tune for all of those Trump supporters out there).

Update: As I type this, the Repug nominee for president is within shouting distance of Le Manse Doomsy (if you have a really good pair of lungs - here).
