Friday Stuff

Yeah, you said you’d “protect” Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid all right, President-Elect Big Orange Cheetoh – the tape doesn’t lie (here); in response, though, I’d like to ask the following question: what was the political party of the presidential administrations that enacted these fine (and highly popular) programs (it wasn’t YOURS, that’s for damn sure)?

And by the way, just how big a scumbag is Trump’s HHS nominee Tom Price, with his syrupy, country-sounding music in the background while he pledges to destroy that dastardly “Democrat” program known as the Affordable Care Law? As noted here, fewer Republicans say they want the law repealed, while more say they want it “scaled back,” whatever the hell that means…and we’re only talking about 26-30 percent of the overall population, by the way, probably the same knuckleheads who still think Obama is a Muslim and Hillary Clinton should go to jail.

As far as I’m concerned, if you were dumb enough to buy the snake oil these characters were selling (on everything, but for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid for the time being), then you deserve what you get – the problem is that practically the rest of us will be hurt too…

...and Kyle K. tries to answer the question I posed above (NSFW – yeah, that description of the Repugs is totally apropos, and the Dems too unfortunately)...

…and I thought David Pakman did a good job of dissecting this alleged victory by “Donald Drumpf” in keeping about 1,000 Carrier jobs in this country (with the parent company residing in the home state of VP-elect Mike Pence…how con-vee-nient - more here)…

…and equally ridiculous, if not more so, was the Thanksgiving message from President-Elect “Fergus Laing,” as K.O. tells us in another great commentary from “The Resistance”…

Oh, and in a story not directly related, it turns out that wingnut actor Mike Rowe is all PO’ed at Hampshire College for refusing to fly the American flag in protest of Generalissimo Trump (here - and this is typical also). OK, that’s his opinion – I get it.

Given that, I’d like to know what Rowe thinks of this, this, and this.

…and when I heard that Howard Dean was running to head the DNC once more, I thought he would be perfect, but after watching U.S. House Rep Keith Ellison in this interview with Chris Hayes, I think I’m changing my mind (Ellison, you’ll recall, is the person who made this prescient observation)…

Update 12/5/16: This counts even more heavily in Ellison's favor as far as I'm concerned.

...and time once more for a seasonal selection.
