Friday Stuff

Yasmin Khan of Rebel HQ tells us that Pumpkin Pol Pot has been ranting against windmills again, and as Khan says, this goes back once more to his hissy fit over windmills on Spray-Tan Satan’s golf course in Scotland...and yes, this also ties into his boneheaded attacks on the U.K. and drilling in the North Sea because EVERY DAMN THING HE DOES is transactional somehow; he can’t do anything to drive up the price of renewable energy, which is why he hates it so damn much (among other reasons I know), but he CAN drive up the price of dirty energy for sure...

..and Jesse Dollemore lets us know that Combover Caligula sent his DOJ goon Todd Blanche after the Southern Poverty Law Center, and if anybody out there somehow disagrees with Jesse’s assessment that the Repug Party is racist to its core (and moves like this show that), then you must also believe in cotton candy ponies and Jesus riding the dinosaurs (and I respectfully disagree with Jesse on Graham Platner, but I understand Jesse’s principled opposition – I think Platner made a dumb, youthful mistake, but I don’t think getting a Nazi tattoo then represents the type of person he is now, and Platner got rid of the tattoo)...and I would comment on the merits of the indictment against the SPLC if there WERE any merits in the indictment...and I would LOVE to know the racial and gender makeup of the grand jury that returned this indictment in Alabama, the state that sent that lummox Tommy Tuberville to the U.S. Senate (and MAY elect him as governor)...interesting background from Jesse about his time serving on a grand jury...

...and Thom Hartmann brings us the sorry tale of Texas and other southern states forcing public schools to post the Ten Commandments (here), according to the Fifth Circuit U.S. Appeals Court, destroying a SCOTUS precedent from 1980 (trying to extinguish the memory of Madalyn Murray O’Hair once and for all)...I didn’t know SecDef Kegseth was trashing Catholics, but that’s in line with the general behavior of our ruling regime of grifters and frauds...this also is the first I’ve heard of Cantaloupe Capone blowing up the Afghan resettlement program and dumping everyone in the Congo, but that figures also – yeah, good luck expecting anyone living in conflict areas to actually assist our military or diplomats ever again...and family members of our U.S. service members too??!! Including 400 kids??!!...

...and the Logical Leftist Jeff Waldorf gives us more details on PA’s U.S. Senator John Fetterman voting with Repugs to defeat a Senate war powers resolution requiring the Gropenfuhrer to seek congressional approval before conducting military operations against Iran (didn’t know the resolution had been introduced four times, with Fetterman opposing each time)...oh, and Fetterman also went on Fox Business to call the Dems’ response on the war “very disappointing”...oh, and OF COURSE there are now parallels between Fetterman and “Curtsy Kyrsten” Sinema, and except for Joe Manchin, I can’t think of a lower insult to hurl against a Senate Dem...I also knew that Conor Lamb has all but declared to primary Fetterman, but I didn’t know that Susan Wild may end up in that mix also...

...and I guess we couldn’t truly plummet to absurd new depths this week without this story about Alan Dershowitz; Kyle Kulinski informs us that “Dersh” has officially joined the “R” team...wonder what took him so long? Gee, I guess this means nobody on the Vineyard will sell him pierogies any more for certain...as Kyle sez, Dershowitz was one of Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyers...and given that Dershowitz actually wrote a column alleging that the age of consent laws are supposedly too HIGH, well, I would call that more than a bit of a “tell”...don’t let the door hit you, buddy (NSFW/H)...

...and Stephen Colbert of The Late Show lets us know that Don The Con will be attending the “nerd prom” tomorrow...apparently he’s going to hang around the WHCD just to give another hissy fit, make another speech full of lies and then leave like the petulant man-baby he truly is...not usually a cheerleader for the Murdoch Street Journal, but glad to see they’re going to get some kind of special mentions for the story about our *preznit’s “pube doodle” and that pic of him standing like a wooden Indian while somebody had a seizure in the Oval...and regarding the war with Iran, it sounds like each side is trying to close the Strait of Hormuz; I mean, that’s if you ACTUALLY BELIEVE the BS from our ruling regime, which I definitely don’t (this mess would be amusing if it weren’t for the fact that our military and other innocent lives are involved...and “shoot and kill any boat” – are there ANY ACTUAL ADULTS in this administration?)...and why the hell are we bailing out Spirit Airlines anyway?...also, I tried to avoid the story about Bobby Brainworms slicing off a dead raccoon’s penis, but sadly I was unable to do that...and oh yeah, “I’ve never been anti-vax,” huh? And I’ve never been a Caucasian either (#facepalm)...and “coked-out salmon” too? (and nice Biden bit as well)...

...and I know I mentioned what would have been Glen Campbell’s recent 90th birthday, and yesterday was the same milestone for Roy Orbison (I think the guitarist performing the solo was James Burton)...

...and RIP Dave Mason, who had great music careers with Traffic and as a solo artist.

Wednesday Stuff

I know Tax Day was a week ago, but Leeja Miller provides what I would still call a timely update...88 of the largest corps in the US paid an effective tax rate of 0…average tax rate in the country for everyone else is 14.5%...one of those companes is Live Nation Entertainment, so I would ask that you remember that the next time you get price gouged if you want to buy tickets for a show at the WTF/Xfinity place (I guess that’s what it’s called now) or the Mann Music Center in these parts…probably comes as no shock whatsoever that the Feds now have zero interest in antitrust enforcement, so some states are continuing the fight…and in News For Plutocrats, it looks like David Ellison is hosting a dinner in honor of Combover Caligula while Ellison just happens to be awaiting news on a merger with Warner/Discovery – how con-vee-nient…didn’t know the top oil and gas companies are planning to make $234 bil over #47’s illegal war of choice…hard to control my gag reflex when I read those numbers from the Working Families Party…and BTW, the notion of a horribly regressive “flat tax” continues to be an utterly awful idea for the reasons Miller mentions…GREAT tax rate discussion about the person making $663K a year vs the person making $50K…and yes, the top-end tax rate under Eisenhower/Kennedy was indeed about 90 percent…important info on the tax resistance movement at about 13:40…also, important historical info on Henry David Thoreau’s tax resistance and how that spurred on non-violent protest in this country…interesting info as well on legal and non-legal tax resistance (NSFW/H)...

...and Brian Tyler Cohen discusses a Murdoch Street Journal report in which we learn that the team for Our Treasonous Orange Pustule kept him away from the Situation Room during the rescue of one of our airmen in Iran because “they believed his impatience wouldn’t be helpful”...and no, as we learn, this episode wasn’t a “one-off” by any means...also included is a clip of shrieking harpie Maria Bartiromo asking Cheetoh Hitler if he wants to take back his lunatic remark that “a whole civilization will die tonight,” and OF COURSE he says NFW – and for more dark comedy, along comes Couch Boy to try and clean up this latest presidential mess, and Trumpette spokes-liar Karoline Leavitt also ignores the question from the NBC reporter to try and puff up her boss once more (who indeed is guilty of advocating for war crimes against Iran, meaning Spray-Tan Satan of course)...

...well, for a bit of good news, last night Virginia voters decided to redistrict their voting maps in a way that favors Dems, and for anybody who says, “Hey! That party is playing the same lowdown game as the ‘R’ Party!”, my response is “Damn right we are”...the one dark cloud is that this vote may get overturned by the Virginia supreme court, but hopefully not – we’ll see (and I don’t often turn to Steve Kornacki, but I will for now)...I know I didn’t pay attention to this contest over the last few months – apologies – but fortunately, it didn’t matter in the vote outcome...

...and Michael Kosta of The Daily Show gives us another episode of “The Worst Wing”...looks like Crazy Eyes Kash Patel is re-enacting his own version of “The Lost Weekend,” only it’s ongoing in his case, along with a lawsuit against The Atlantic of a quarter bil for reporting the truth...and a frequent guest of “The Poodle Room,” at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas, huh? And on the taxpayer dime of course (kind of picturing Al Pacino in “Scarface” with his head buried in a pile of coke)...oh, and you were locked out on your workstation? I guess it didn’t occur to Patel to call tech support...and gee, it looks like we barely knew DOL Secretary Lori Chavez-Deremer; I wish we could say that about the rest of the motley Trumpist regime...I guess she was trying to beat a retreat, you might say, over multiple scandals and investigations; apparently, she was drinking on the job also, though considering who her boss was, I can’t totally blame her (good joke in particular from Kosta about going through workplace harassment training here)...and I can’t believe Chavez-Deremer’s husband was accused of sexual harassment at his wife’s workplace (this confirms my suspicion that any members of this administration have to take an IQ test, and if they pass, they’re disqualified...and that apparently goes for her dad also)...with Ronny Chieng...

...and today would have been the 90th birthday of Glen Campbell...

...and Happy Earth Day, everyone (for a few more hours anyway).

Tuesday Stuff

Mike Figueredo of The Humanist Report discusses U.S. allies watching in confusion as America self-immolates...yes, I know The Guardian is a center-left publication for sure (or maybe more left than that), but I have a hard time disagreeing with what Rebecca Solnit has to say...I think it’s irrefutable that #47 is a Russian operative since every damn thing that he ever does helps Putin, among other dictators...as Figueredo says, there’s a difference between what you could call the typical lies of a politician versus the outright hallucinations of the Tangerine Toddler (if this were an earlier era, I would expect Rod Serling to appear from a background and tell us that we were all in The Twilight Zone, but tragically, this is reality)...and that goes for Trumpette spokes-liar Karoline Leavitt also...and I’ll tell you what; I would suggest not listening to that fathead U.S. Senator Roger Marshall when it comes to Cantaloupe Capone vs. Biden on prices and would look to this instead, which looks like a wash overall at best for Dementia Donnie...and I don’t know who these people are who are getting a $1K-$1,500 rebate, but if you find anybody who qualifies, please let me know...and I have a feeling that I’ll be repeating this for-ev-ah, but BRONER BEELZEBUB WALKED AWAY FROM THE IRANIAN NUKE DEAL UNDER OBAMA, WHICH HAS A LOT TO DO WITH WHY WE’RE IN THIS MESS...I didn’t know that five doctors wrote to Congress and told those in charge to DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS NUTBALL!!...”The monkeys have taken over the zoo” sounds about right (and leave it to “Dr. Crudité” to let his boss off the hook over that beyond ridiculous “diet soda cures cancer” claim)...and damn right that the bipedal life forms who decided to give this pudding-brained buffoon another term in An Oval Office share culpability with this mess...and when it comes to Cheetoh Hitler and exporting energy (in response to Tim Scott), I would ask that you take a look at this (NSFW/H)...

...and continuing the theme of global instability caused by #47, Belle of the Ranch tells us about Canadian PM Mark Carney calling U.S. ties a “weakness”...Carney isn’t wrong about Mango Mussolini’s stinking tariffs and the last time they were raised to the level they are now (as in the Great Depression – Google Smoot-Hawley)...the Canadian PM also correctly says that the ruinous economic policies of Spray-Tan Satan are causing “uncertainty hanging over all of us” (and as Belle says, the markets HATE uncertainty, as do the rest of us)...I definitely give Belle points for her plain speaking in this particular clip, though she’s spot on that way in her others also...

...and sticking with global matters, Ana Kasparian of TYT talks about Naftali Bennett of Israel giving some speech saying, “Turkey is the new Iran” (and Bennett is supposed to be a “moderate”?)...what will it take for this country to proclaim Israel as a pariah state and cut off all support (maybe making an exception for humanitarian funding)...and yes, I know from a practical perspective what a monumentally heavy political “lift” that is, but that’s the direction where all of this is going...as Ana says, Israel is still butt-hurt over Turkey’s response to the Hamas attacks on Israel in October 2023 (suspending trade with Israel and denying Turkey’s air space to that country), so “Bibi” decides to pick a fight with Turkey, and that country responds by calling Netanyahu “the Hitler of our time,” and from where I sit, Turkey isn’t wrong (though I’ll admit that Turkey has indeed been awful to the Kurds, seeing as how Turkey believes the Kurds are responsible for “a decades-long insurgency”)...I’ll grant you that this is a complicated story, but when you’ve got two parties drowning in the blood of slaughtered populations, nobody has the moral high ground...

...and turning to domestic politics, Farron Cousins informs us that Repug politicians in the House and Senate are freaking out over the fact that their voters are nuts; I mean, that’s not a news flash to yours truly or likely you if you’re reading this I know...now that their political butts are on the line, it looks like some in the “party of Lincoln” are realizing that, damn, we have to actually deliver something to the people who voted for us instead of trying to arrest women trying to get abortions or making the lives of LGBTQ plus folks generally miserable (NSFW/H also)...

...and Jesse Dollemore talks about Don The Con pocketing $63 mil intended for his “library”...apparently, Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Richard Blumenthal (along with Dem U.S. House Rep Melanie Stansbury) have written a letter to the companies (ABC, Paramount, Meta and X) that supposedly donated to this slush fund for the Gropenfuhrer (and for a “library” that also doubles as a hotel...a “typical Trumpian twist” indeed)...the four companies in question responded as noted in the clip, but they didn’t get into details about the shakedowns bribes payouts...Jesse is spot-on IMO about the fact that, if this happened with, say, a Dem president, it would dominate the news cycle, as it should (mildly NSFW/H also)...

...and RIP Moya Brennan of the Irish folk group Clannad, performing “I Will Find You” from “The Last Of The Mohicans” (a terrific film).

Monday Stuff

This video from Public Citizen features lawyer Nicolas Sansone of that group and Vietnam vet Jon Gundersen taking legal action against the very latest monstrosity from Bronzer Beelzebub, which is his 250-foot vanity arch on the way to Arlington National Cemetery; it's illegal of course for the reasons noted...as Sansone says, any monuments in D.C. need to comply with the Commemorative Works Act and receive a buy-in from all affected constituencies, notably Congress...”a vainglorious monument to a person” indeed, as Gundersen says (and as Gundersen also points out, this thing, in addition to being an eyesore, would also monumentally screw up D.C. traffic)...

...and Sam and Emma of The Majority Report tell us that Couch Boy was recently sent to Pakistan to negotiate with Iran to try and end our latest Republican pre-emptive war...good point by Sam that “Mr. Hillbilly Elegy” wants to find a way to wrap this up through negotiation and use that to try and propel himself as the ’28 Repug frontrunner for *preznit, which is a horrifying possibility; picture MAGA Trumpism but at the hands of someone who would actually know how to control the levers of power (or at least, be TOLD what to do by Peter Thiel and that foul ilk), and “Little Marco” would barely be any better...and I realize it’s typical for this bunch to pointlessly dump on Biden once again, which Emma does at about 2:17 (yes, #46 indeed was “dog-walked” by “Bibi”...whaddaya say that we turn the damn record over, OK, and what the hell does Kamala Harris going to the border HAVE ONE DAMN THING TO DO WITH THE WAR WITH IRAN??!!)...however, I will grant Emma’s good point about Iran trading with Russia over the Caspian Sea, so the latter country can refuel and resupply and continue this stalemate indefinitely (and once more, Harry Enten brings some pretty damning poll numbers for the “R” team)...

...and David Shuster of Rebel HQ tells us about Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent getting grilled by Steve Douchebag on the effect of the Iran war on gas prices; when even Fix Noise isn’t buying your BS any more, I would say that you have a problem...yeah, let’s blame the owners of gas stations (which would be Big Oil of course) for the up-and-down price at the pump, not Cheetoh Benito’s war of choice in the Middle East...oh, and Ainsley Earhardt is realizing ONLY NOW that “it’s expensive” to raise kids, with those chuckleheads Kilmeade and Lawrence Jones sitting on the couch alongside her with their big sh*t-eating grins (and I think $300K to raise a child is actually a low-ball estimate)...anybody with a brain knows that energy prices have a multiplying effect across our economy when calculating costs for damn near everything, so energy is the LAST issue where you want to see costs getting out of control...

...and Sean Morrow of More Perfect Union “turns over a lot of rocks,” as it were, to let us know how deeply embedded Jeffrey Epstein and his influence was across government, industry, and other institutions, and in a bipartisan way as it turns out...the report focuses on five individuals who bought into what Epstein was all about, and it seems that they looked the other way, you might say, when it came to Epstein’s “hobbies”...report focuses first on Leon Black, who apparently went to Epstein for ideas on how high net worth folks can shelter their dough, helping Black avoid about a billion in taxes through purchases of art and establishing a network of LLC firms...lawyer Kathy Ruemmler is also included; hard to get my head around anybody hanging out with Epstein given what he was all about, especially a woman (and Ruemmler worked in the Obama Administration, which does indeed make this mess bipartisan), though the fact that she came from Goldman Sachs and shows such contempt for overweight folks definitely fits the scumbag profile...let’s not forget Boris Nikolic also, who used the Gates Foundation to hide dough and direct untraceable donations, including in donor-advised funds, which apparently was a frequently-used vehicle by Epstein for sheltering dough...it seems that Epstein also had a pretty sophisticated PR network to try and publicize himself as an “education philanthropist”...Reid Hoffman of Linkedin and (drumroll) the aforementioned Peter Thiel show up also, with Thiel giving Epstein investment advice about not investing, as it turns out, in Spotify and Palantir...and oh yeah, Epstein had his sex-abusing hands in OpenAI also, as it turns out...the big takeaway for yours truly from this is that, as awful and depraved as “the Epstein network” was (and is still, actually), it also represents the global class of oligarchs who have figured out how to rig the political and corporate game in perpetuity at our ongoing expense...in fewer words, as awful as the sexual depravity is (and it is for sure), it’s only the cherry on the icing on this sh*t sundae when you look at all of the ways that these cretins truly control our lives...it also figures that Reid Hoffman is spending typically obscene dough to oppose progressive candidates (once again, love and kisses to the High Court of Hangin’ Judge JR for Citizens United)...

...and the Onion News Network informs us that, with the ongoing strife in Iran, gas drinkers are having an especially tough time (heh)...

Update: Terrific accidental timing for this.

...and I hope this puts a little “pep in your step” for a not-quite-spring-yet Monday in these parts (maybe this selection will inspire the Phillies and the Sixers, but I’m not getting my hopes up).

Friday Stuff

Brittany Page discusses reporting from the independent publication Western Edge (here) about an Amazon employee who died on the job while the assembly line boss told employees who tried to help to get back to work...that’s what happened to someone at a warehouse on April 6th; someone got badly hurt and the manager at the “fulfillment center” told everyone to turn around and make sure the packages kept getting put together and loaded for delivery...sounds like somebody is looking at a criminal prosecution...we knew about the Kimberly-Clark warehouse fire of course, but I didn’t know about what looks like an attempt at the life of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (allegedly of course)...oh, but “look over there” while “The Old Gray Lady” runs some groveling puff piece on Jeff Bezos’s new wife...and oh yeah, as Page says, apparently these Amazon employees weren’t even paid for a full shift when they were so traumatized by what happened that they had to be sent home – but let’s focus instead on the newest pleasure palace for the Bezoses on some trendy island retreat (“billionaire bunker” indeed)...”this is theft” for sure...mildly NSFW/H...

...and on the topic of exploitation, this CBS local news report informs us of the Tangerine Toddler’s decision to cut $11 million from Catholic Charities in Miami because of his snit with Pope Leo (here)...oh, but between #47 and the last “prez” who actually was a practicing Catholic, which one gets the support of the fundie nut jobs? And yes, I know I’ve beaten that talking point to death by now...

...but boy, if there’s something the “party of Lincoln” IS gung ho about, it’s that they sure want more pregnant white teenagers, though OF COURSE they’re not going to spend an extra dime for services to support them such as for expanded maternal health care, early and pre-K development and nutritional funding, etc...leave it to Fix Noise and Dr. Mark Siegel to give their demented spin on this topic...yeah, “Dr. Mark,” kids are in part waiting until they’re financially secure before they have kids, which in this wretched economy likely will NEVER HAPPEN because EVERYONE is dealing with staggering debt of one type or another (or more than one type – John of The Damage Report discusses this with Loren Piretra, who I think also cuts through the BS on this pretty well)...

...and Robert Reich and former Biden CFPB head Rohit Chopra discuss the “buy now, pay later” trend...90 million of us made this type of a purchase last year (mainly during the holidays on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to the tune of about $2 billion, and supported by all kinds of payment providers, and companies like the previously-mentioned Amazon of course), and it can indeed put you on a treadmill of unsustainable debt...having to do this for gas, groceries, and healthcare, among other vital needs, is a sign of an economy doing the “big swirl in the hopper” as far as yours truly is concerned (with consumers getting socked by late fees that, in some cases, are as high as 25 percent, as we learn from Chopra)...we also need regulation on all of the “geo targeting” from these lenders who use our devices to target us for advertising purposes...as noted in the clip, the Biden Administration made “buy now, pay later” lenders comply with the same requirements as loan issuers, but along came Dementia J. Trump and his gang to overturn all of those needed protections...some states are stepping up to fill the void created by our ruling regime on this, it should be noted...

...and by the way, I know about the accusations against this guy...”innocent and proven guilty” and all that, but these charges are truly monstrous...I honestly try to avoid “police blotter” stuff because I don’t want to say anything that could somehow be even remotely prejudicial in a trial, but he should be charged and prosecuted as much as the law allows, and he should serve whatever sentence may be meted out...shocking to think about what people we support can be truly capable of, but it just goes to show how much people in Swalwell’s orbit are removed from the rest of us, and how risky it can be to put our trust in their hands (and this also includes all the sympathy I can muster for the victims in these allegations of course).

...and Ronny Chieng of The Daily Show gives us the latest...yeah, I know “No Malarkey Joe” didn’t exactly have a shining moment at that address, apparently thinking that gentleman was “President Hopey Changey,” but at least he isn’t tweeting or whatever in the middle of the night trying to be “Doctor Jesus,” and #46 is a private citizen now, so as far as I’m concerned, he has “carte blanche”...oh, and here’s “Dr. Crudité” thinking that Bronzer Beelzebub drinks diet soda because it kills cancer cells; about what you can expect from a guy who won’t exercise because he says it runs down his battery, or something (Pumpkin Pol Pot I mean)...and oh yeah, it also looks like Diaper Donnie is going to try a new scam to get Gen Z voters to swing his way (with Couch Boy taking the lead on that)...yeah, “take our country back”...from your own regime? Sounds like a plan to me!...also, is it just me, or did it sound like Vance cranked up the volume on that mic of his to try and drown out hecklers at TPUSA?...I honestly didn’t know about Bronzer Beelzebub’s latest Jesus pic – the guttural trash from that asshat truly never ends (with Grace Kuhlenschmidt and Jordan Klepper)...

...and I think the title of this newer tune is pretty emblematic for our current times (I almost always feel like I’m staggering to the end of a week any more from dealing with this political pestilence, and I don’t think I’m alone on that).

Thursday, April 16, 2026

Thursday Stuff

Farron Cousins informs us that #47 just tricked TSA employees into thinking they’re getting paid; hard to believe that these folks have been working basically for free for a couple of months...nope, Combover Caligula can’t just put out a screed on Truth Septic or whatever and these folks will get comped as a result – if Our Treasonous Orange Meat Sack had the foggiest idea of how our government worked, HE WOULD FREAKING KNOW THAT!!! (I mean, assuming he DID know and wasn’t just straight-up lying anyway, which is definitely a possibility)...

...and for more ridiculous nonsense from this trash fire of a presidential administration, Jesse Dollemore reports in SecDef Kegseth reciting the alleged Book of Ezekiel from “Pulp Fiction”...uh, yep...well, for starters, this is YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE of our ruling cabal of grifting liars and idiots violating the separation of church and state documented in our Constitution by proselytizing before our armed services personnel, and since we’re talking about the Trump gang, they have to do so in the most stoo-pid possible way...I mean, really, to utter that quote AND NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE DAMN MOVIE??!! (NSFW/H)...

...and when it comes to still more criminality from this bunch, JT Cestkowski of Status Coup News tells us that it looks like Apartheid Clyde’s merry band of DOGE incels used an unauthorized server to access our previously secure Social Security data, and they then shared that data with a group looking to overturn elections...this was apparently admitted by the DOJ of Pumpkin Pol Pot, and now a federal appeals court is involved...I’d forgotten about King Elon playing with turning off Starlink when he felt like it, so OF COURSE he’s going to act arbitrarily and in a capricious way when it comes to sensitive data...and it figures that a lower court stopped DOGE from getting to that data, but the High Court of Hangin’ Judge JR decided to allow it...sounds like the record of our courts overall, however, is spotty at best when it comes to trying to rein in our cretinous ruling regime...it truly is up to us, people...

...and for still more madness (sorry to do this to you, but we have no choice but to bear witness as far as I’m concerned), Thom Hartmann says that it sounds like the Gropenfuhrer may try to add mifepristone to the contaminant list for monitoring and regulating by the EPA, at least if these Students For Life crazies have their way, claiming that abortion pills and fetal remains are poisoning our groundwater...yep, I know they’re wackadoodles, but unfortunately they have a receptive audience with our ruling bunch of bottom feeders...and I’ll let Thom describe the “catch kit” barbarity in this discussion – not a damn thing to do with women’s health care, but EVERYTHING to do with control and humiliation...oh, but the tiny presence of mifepristone in our water (as opposed to all of the other damn chemicals in our lives) is supposedly the reason for low sperm counts in men according to Bobby Brainworms – trying to break the stoo-pid meter again...oh, and by the way, these dirtbags want to screen also for medications involved in gender affirming care because of course...

...and I haven’t checked in with Trae Crowder for a little while, so here he is on Combover Caligula’s beef with Pope Leo, and I thought this was a pretty good take on the whole “oh, I’m not Jesus – I’m really a doctor, and I JUST HAPPEN to have F-15’s flying in formation in silhouette behind me” mess...Crowder gets more into the whole “MAGA civil war” thing in his extension of the clip, though, in response, I would only point out all of the years of garbage and lies from Our Treasonous Orange Pustule that these people were apparently OK with up until now...and as Crowder says near the end, a lot of these people claiming to be PO’ed now will likely fall in line come November, which is EXACTLY what the “party of Lincoln” is counting on (NSFW/H also)...

...and happy belated 75th bithday to drummer Max Weinberg of the E Street Band.

Wednesday Stuff

Rachel Maddow tells us about a recent surprise inspection of an ICE prison in Mesa, AZ, made to house a max of 157 people, though apparently 274 were crammed in, according to reporting from the Arizona Daily Mirror, and OF COURSE the number of detainees in the facility shrunk when Dem members of the U.S. House were scheduled to visit, and the number of detainees went back up after the inspection...well, that didn’t work out so well because they were BUSTED when Dem congress reps Greg Stanton and Yassamin Ansari returned to the facility for an unscheduled visit and brought Adelita Grijalva along with them and saw what was really going on (Grijalva is interviewed – you may remember that “MAGA Mike” Johnson did everything he could not to seat Grijalva in the House, and I submit that that was because he knew how good she would be at her job)...if this report isn’t one hell of a good argument for totally abolishing private prisons, I don’t know what is..

...and this report from CBC The National gives us a warning from history about a potential Kharg Island invasion by our military...and oh yeah, we have war cheerleader Huckleberry (“Send In The Troops!”) Graham – on the one hand, Graham has a lengthy military record which is better than anything from your humble narrator I know, but by Graham’s own admission, he “never deployed” and served in the Judge Advocate General’s office, rising to the rank of colonel; to act like Graham is somehow some battle-hardened vet is a joke, and I think he’s been getting waaay too much of a pass for years as some kind of military “expert” without that missing context...and oh yeah, saying that since the Marines captured Iwo Jima, they can also invade Kharg Island is cosmically stoo-pid as far as yours truly is concerned (and to call Khe Sanh a horror show during the Vietnam War is speaking euphemistically for sure)...and let’s not forget Fallujah in Iraq either...report is from Terence McKenna; this is exactly the sort of coverage that we SHOULD get from our beyond useless corporate media in this country, but good luck with that I know...personally, I think (and hope and pray) that the lunatics behind this ridiculous war have learned their lesson and will dispense with this “boots on the ground” madness...everyone responsible for starting this war should be brought before a docket in The Hague as far as yours truly is concerned...

...and Belle of the Ranch lets us know that Commander Bone Spurs is going to try and institute automatic selective service registration (barring a court challenge, that is) – OK, so we can automatically register young men in the event that this country tries to bring back a draft as part of the NDAA that the Gopenfuhrer signed into law last December, but we can’t automatically register people to vote as Belle says? And oh yeah, this “blanket draft” includes asylum seekers and undocumented folks, the individuals this wretched administration is trying to deport – sooo, they can fight, get maimed and possibly die for this country, but they can’t live here? Is there a universe in which any of this actually makes sense (interesting observation that the DoD is actually anti-draft now)...

...and David Pakman lets us know that Dems have officially filed H Res 1155, introduced by House Dem John Larson of Connecticut, calling for another impeachment of Spray-Tan Satan...charges include militarizing domestic law enforcement, unlawful detention and deportation, targeting political opponents, abusing the pardon power, etc...I agree with Pakman’s assessment that you need to get as much of #47’s garbage on the record as you can; whatever may or may not happen as a result is another matter entirely...

...and Nick Offerman of The Daily Show discusses the Tangerine Toddler turning the 250th into another grift for himself of course, including his mug on commemorative coins and on passes to our national parks (John Oliver recently had a great bit about the latter)...as far as I'm concerned, the “Arch De Trump” is an automatic excuse for the 25th Amendment (slightly NSFW/H)...

...and I hope you made out OK with your returns for the prior year – we ended up doing all right, so I’ll take it and not complain.

Tuesday Stuff

Jesse Dollemore lets us know that it looks like the Gropenfuhrer is in a snit with Pope Leo based on that typically bonkers rant from our *preznit on Truth Septic; yeah, I’m sure #47 will come out on top in that one...”weak on borders, weak on crime,” yadda yadda; the usual lying horsesh*t from Our Treasonous Orange Pestilence...and what would more madness with Pumpkin Pol Pot be without another utterly insane online meme, this time with you-know-who as Our Lord...and I know Bri-Fi came up with this statement in opposition, which to me is still weak sauce because our wet noodle PA-01 rep HAS SAID AND DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO OPPOSE HIS BOSS UP TO NOW...besides, I’m not aware of ANY REPUBLICAN who criticized the Tangerine Toddler when he referred to the Holy Eucharist as “my little cracker” here...and I’m not going to try and unpackage the utter madness of claiming that religious leaders were arrested for not social distancing during COVID, but I AM going to mention that this orange yutz has NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER to tell those in charge of congregations how to manage their duties since our gnat-brain-on-meth chief executive tried to remove sanctuary status from those places of worship as noted here (NSFW/H)...

...and turning to the economy, David Doel informs us that a worker in Ontario, California filmed himself setting fire to the Kimberly-Clark warehouse where he was employed which contained what appears to be toilet paper, complaining about how he was underpaid...I don’t encourage violence or destruction to people and/or property, but I think it’s actually surprising that stuff like this doesn’t happen more often, to be honest...that video by the TikTok guy at about 5:24 should be required viewing for everyone in this country, and that includes every damn politician...oh, and CEOs are making 281 times as much as the average for a salaried worker in that same company (and as Doel says, we’re just talking about income, not wealth)...and for truly dark satire, we also get CNBC’s Sara (“How Does An Investor Process The Potential End Of A Civilization”?) Eisen, one of the dimmer of the dim bulbs in corporate media it appears...by the way, as a side note, Kimberly-Clark is the company where ruthless corporate raider “Chainsaw Al” Dunlap got his start (NSFW/H also)...

...and Richard Ojeda of Rebel HQ tells us about Eric Bolling lamenting how the electoral fortunes are looking for Repugs in November; of course, we can take absolutely nothing for granted and need to keep working to make the “blue wave” happen, but I must tell you that wingnut tears are delicious...and again, the percentage points in favor of Dems in polling is undeniable, particularly in Wisconsin, where the “D” team expanded their majority on the state supreme court (and I would guess that’s part of the reason why that idiot RoJo has been all over the place on Fix Noise lately)...also included is a clip of Rachel Maddow discussing with Dem Senator Mark Warner how the Gropenfuhrer may try declaring another bogus “national emergency,” claiming foreign interference in the ’20 election (how con-vee-nient) as an excuse to try and take over the vote this fall...

...and I try to do my part to get the word out on “Team D” for a lot of reasons, chief of which is because the other side is totally nuts, but that doesn’t mean that we can forget about getting our own political house in order, as it were – this man on X (courtesy of Bill Madden) has some cautionary advice on that subject (NSFW/H as well)...

...and Jimmy Kimmel lets us know about the Gropenfuhrer going off on Truth Septic about Bruce Springsteen because of course, and over Pope Leo as previously noted...and oh yeah, #47 also met with that server over his “No Taxes On Tips” deal (kind of sad that that grandma is forced to work to pay for her husband’s health care - here) – the whole “no taxes on tips” thing isn’t bad I’ll admit (something anyway), but what would REALLY make a difference is setting a federal standard for tipped hourly wages...for example, the tipped hourly wage in Wisconsin is $2.33 per hour, and while employers are required to make up the difference between that and the federal wage of $7.25 (which is still too low), what happens if they don’t? How the hell is ANYBODY supposed to exist in this country on $2.33 an hour?...I sincerely hope one day when this treasonous orange yam’s days on this earth come to an end (and I don’t wish to hasten that, I mean to emphasize), I hope someone chisels on his headstone words to the effect that any notion of character or decency concerning this individual is “fake news,” which, as we know, is his go-to insult for any news whatsoever that he doesn’t like...and oh yeah, #47 has time to compliment that MMA fighter and pose with a brainless young woman at one of his golf courses, all while our military deployed to fight his damn war is likely wondering what the hell is going on...also, it looks like Don The Con lost another lawsuit; this time, a judge dismissed the action aimed at the Murdoch Street Journal over the Gropenfuhrer’s birthday message to his best bud Jeffrey Epstein (and I care less than nothing about anything Melania has to say)...

Update 1: This sure figures (for anybody still on X).

Update 2: For non-X folks (here).

...and RIP session guitarist Wayne Perkins, who performed on this number along with many others.

Monday Stuff

This report from the German news service DW gives us the details on Viktor Orban’s recent election loss in Hungary to Peter Magyar, and it looks like Magyar’s party also won big – none of this “oh, divided government will save us” BS like we have in this country; electing a head of a party as *preznit but putting the oppo party in charge of Congress is a recipe for gridlock; we’re all done with the ‘90s and “The West Wing” by Aaron Sorkin (and yes, that comment definitely assumes putting the “D” team in charge, in case that wasn’t obvious...report by correspondents Ferenc Gaal and Fanny Facsar...a lot still to be sorted out in that country, but definitely good news as of this moment...that said, credit to Orban for congratulating Magyar, which Bronzer Beelzebub would NEVER do of course)...

via GIPHY

...and this CBS News story details how a priest in Oakland Park (near Miami) named Father Bob Caudill is facing half a million dollars in fines for feeding the homeless in an area that apparently wasn’t “zoned” for it; didn’t know there was “zoning” involved when it comes to acts of decency and compassion...I know this story is a month old and I’m sorry I’m a little late here, but I didn’t want to let this slip through the cracks (and it sounds like the church isn’t affiliated with the Archdiocese of Miami, though they should reach out to Fr. Bob on that IMO)...

...and I know I said I’d keep these folks on a “short leash,” but I now present this clip of Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian of TYT with some testimony from one of our soldiers who survived the Iranian drone attack on our base in Kuwait...color me (not) shocked, but It looks like SecDef Kegseth has been lying through his teeth, again (taking a break from sneering at reporters)...I don’t see any proof for Cenk’s charge that we were protecting Israel instead of our men and women in the military (though the awful results of the drone attack speak for themselves), but that statement definitely tracks with the wretched policies of our “clown car” of a presidential administration...I honestly don’t have any insight into the so-called “rescue operation” of our personnel in the F-15 that was shot down so I can’t argue with the official story, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that turned out to be yet another lie also...

...and this recent “I Doubt It” podcast with Jesse Dollemore and Brittany Page tells us more on Riley Podleski, who apparently is SecDef Kegseth’s little Trumpette propaganda princess (and typical move by the Gropenfuhrer to have the plane engine roaring in the background while the reporters were asking questions, which was staged as far as I’m concerned – the engine sound I mean...The Sainted Ronnie R used to pretend he couldn’t hear reporters over the whirring of the blades of the helicopter transporting him to Camp David)...and yes, while it’s encouraging that our two downed airmen were rescued inside Iran and those accomplishing this heroic mission should receive all the praise and possibly awards due to them, I don’t want to hear about how we’ve supposedly degraded Iran’s air and defense capability; if we’d done that to the full extent of what is claimed by this regime of liars and cowards, then our two airmen wouldn’t have been shot down in the first place, as Jesse points out...I know I said for the TYT clip that I didn’t automatically believe the official story, and I still don’t, but it’s possible the gang from our ruling cabal may (and I emphasize MAY) be telling the truth (and I’m sure a lot of those comments praising Dementia J. Trump on that propaganda clip were from bots, but my guess is that Jesse and Brittany know that)...mildly NSFW/H...

...well, given these segments on Combover Caligula’s Not-So-Excellent Adventure in Iran, I think it’s apropos to present the following response from Mr. Newberger...

...and I know I had a tune to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Phil Ochs last Friday, but I’m in the mood for another one (probably with the CBS story in mind here I’ll admit).

Friday Stuff

What's up first is a clip from JT Cestkowski of Status Coup News...it appears that the Charleston Post and Courier is reporting that a young woman who was underage at the time apparently has a corroborating witness to her story of alleged sexual abuse/assault from the Gropenfuhrer...correct to note that a local newspaper is doing the fine work here that our bought-and-paid-for corporate media should ALSO be doing (looks like the Epstein horror show was going on near Hilton Head, which is how South Carolina ended up in this godawful mix)...also appears that summaries of the accuser’s testimony were released by the DOJ, but they were heavily redacted of course (and not the so-called “302 summaries” from the FBI/DOJ)...bottom line is that there are notes of more interactions between #47 and this young woman (an underage girl at the time) that should be made public at a minimum, possibly leading to further legal action (NSFW/H)...

...and San Seder of The Majority Report speaks with Iddo Elam, contributor to a Hebrew news site in Tel Aviv I believe...Israel is now occupying southern Lebanon as noted in the clip, and of course, since we’re talking about the IDF, that means there’s a denial of aid to folks getting attacked...Sam asks where the Israeli public lines up on this, and it sounds like they were pretty on-board with the war in the beginning though not quite as much now, with some protests across the country (along with air raid sirens because the “iron dome” isn’t impenetrable of course, and I’m not surprised to hear that “Bibi” is censoring reporting of missiles getting through and causing damage to people and property)...didn’t know that many Israelis have bomb shelters, but that figures I suppose...probably difficult in that area of the world to parse the conflicts in the West Bank, Lebanon and Iran, though all three to one degree or another are at least in part a product of Israel’s intransigence IMO (sounds like Iran is a more accepted conflict in terms of Israeli public approval than Lebanon)...

...and Tennessee Brando informs us that “Couch Boy” is in Hungary to try and prop up Viktor Orban as his boss falls apart (#47 of course - more here)...I definitely agree with Brando that Vance could potentially be worse than Cantaloupe Capone because Vance is truly beholden to the elites who have put him where he is, notably Peter Thiel, The Heritage Foundation and the other monsters behind Project 2025, whereas #47 feels loyalty towards absolutely no one, which, given the utterly crazed, loathsome state of our politics overall, might actually be preferable (the latter I mean, notwithstanding the horrible geopolitical chaos unfolding, which Vance would also be leading)...I can easily picture Vance supercharging efforts to criminalize women seeking reproductive health services as well as LGBTQ individuals of course along with the poor and minorities merely for existing (and doing everything we can imagine to clamp down on any forms of protest at all), only with Vance being more methodical about it than his boss who focuses on issues like a gnat on meth...and yeah, Mr. “Hillbilly Elegy” is indeed threatening to use nukes on Iran, and I firmly believe he would have done that by now if he had already parked his butt behind the Resolute Desk...and I think Brando is spot-on to say that Vance will try to flip the script on his boss in a heartbeat...and I never imagined The Swanson TV Dinner Heir as a Repug *preznit nominee, but in a “through the looking glass” way, I can envision it, sadly (mildly NSFW/H)...

...and I know this is a long-ass description of the next clip, but I believe it matters...Liz Scheltens of More Perfect Union tells us what those affected don’t want you to know about a wealth tax, focused on the movement to tax stinkin’ billionaires in California, including Sergey ($245 bil) Brin of Google...looks like CA is proposing a one-time 5% tax on their worldwide assets of about $100 billion or more as we learn in the clip...it’s pretty damn plain that Gavin Newsom has his eye on “the big chair” in Washington, and that’s fine (hard to be worse than what we have now), but to be honest, I think he looks weak on this issue as well as LGBTQ rights (just look who his funders are I guess, though at the end of the clip we learn that Newsom is open to the idea of a federal wealth tax)...and I think taxing millionaires in MA by 4% so kids can have two free meals at school (helping parents with food costs and kids with damn near everything else) is a good trade (also including transportation costs)...pretty funny to me that, as opposed to the rich leaving “Tax-a-chusetts” in response to the millionaires tax, the number of ultra-wealthy people grew by 40 percent...so OF COURSE Fix Noise is leading the charge against trying to replicate this in CA, but oh, that trash network is big into “family values,” right? GMAFB!...as we learn, the CA initiative would tax wealth, not income, and it would apply to a smaller group of folks...yep, it definitely tracks that wealth inequality has worsened, to put it mildly, over the last 50 years...also, we’re reminded of the “Big, Beautiful Clusterf*ck” directing billions from Medicaid (patients, hospitals, etc.) to billionaires (and I remember Bri-Fi in PA-01 swearing up and down that Medicaid wouldn’t be touched by that awful giveaway of a bill...he’s either a liar or an idiot, or both)...according to what one health care provider in CA tells us, keeping this awful status quo in place would turn health care into what we experienced during the worst of COVID, but this time it would be permanent...Dave Regan, the president of the SEIU, is interviewed...I know this is a broken record, but I need to keep saying that it used to be illegal for CEOs and people running companies to hold stock shares as part of their compensation, but that changed because of The Sainted Ronnie R, which has a lot to do with the explosion of billionaires (and subsequent decrease in tax payments by these folks)...obviously, I think these billionaire crybabies need to “grow a pair,” especially since we’re talking about a FREAKING ONE-TIME ONLY TAX...I keep hearing about how awful the homeless problem is in San Francisco, for example; well, if you REALLY WANT TO FIX IT, then you need targeted funding from something like this to promote “housing first” or a model of some type to get people into shelter, since they really can’t do much of anything else with their lives without it...and kudos to Jensen Huang of NVIDIA for standing out the right way here...

...and Stephen Colbert on The Late Show gives us his take on our two-week cease fire with Iran, though in that area of the world, it’s hard to tell whether or not the bombing will ever truly stop (I wish it would, but I know better, especially since our “ally” Bibi is also bombing Lebanon as noted...are we ever going to get to the point where we just say that Netanyahu is as freaking nuts as Combover Caligula??!!)...oh, and our alleged geopolitical geniuses have now given Iran yet another victory in that that nation can say, “we’re not reopening the damn Strait of Hormuz unless the bombing in Lebanon stops”...is it just me, or does it look like Iran has gamed out every possible scenario under which they can come out on top in this insane conflict? And yeah, we get Stephen’s take on the Orban/Vance “bromance” as alluded to previously...

...and yesterday marked the 50th anniversary of the death of folksinger Phil Ochs, who took his own life by hanging; he had suffered from bipolar disorder and alcoholism...we all need help from time to time, so please reach out if dealing with everything is too overwhelming, especially now.

Wednesday Stuff

Ayman Mohyeldin sitting in for Chris Hayes reports on Spray-Tan Satan deciding not to end Iranian civilization for another two weeks...so, I guess Cheetoh Hitler has a chapter in “The Art Of The Deal” about giving Iran an excuse to now extort $2 million from every ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz – what a financial genius! No wonder just about all of his businesses have gone bankrupt...kudos to the 70 U.S. House Dems in particular calling for the removal of this genocidal lunatic, as well as Ed Markey in the Senate...good job by Ayman to revisit all of the times TACO Trump bailed on his self-imposed deadlines to inflict global carnage; I mean, yeah, it’s a good thing his threats weren’t realized, but he shouldn’t be in a position to issue those threats in the first place (and I never thought we’d be in a circumstance where we needed to thank Pakistan for preventing Armageddon, but I never thought we’d be in a position for a lot of this insanity)...Ayman speaks with reporter David Rohde, and I would also say that we have a marriage, so to speak, of “infinite immorality with infinite power” as Robert Malley correctly puts it...and by the way, the fact that he called off this threat to extinguish Iran "civilization" doesn't mean that #47 still shouldn't be impeached, because HE FREAKING STILL SHOULD!! (more on trying to remove him is next)...

...and David Pakman lets us know that, indeed, more folks are calling for the 25th Amendment aimed at the Tangerine Toddler, including Illinois guv J.B. Pritzker, along with Ro Khanna (and as Pakman says, there is zero chance that will happen with this cabinet, and about the same possibility that anyone from the “R” team will call for that)...and yeah, I know some of this is political posturing by folks looking for the Dem nomination for prez in ’28...but can you seriously blame them??!! You can also add the NAACP to the folks calling for #47 to toddle off to Mar-a-Lago once and for all so he can stage his hissy fits while watching Fix Noise and chowing down on a happy meal so there’s no chance that he could actually blow up the world...

..and this DW report from Anthony Howard gives us more on this White House using religious references, and how Pope Leo pushes back...clip includes those “whited sepulchers” laying hands on Pumpkin Pol Pot...hearing SecDef Kegseth making religious references makes me want to puke in my mouth...didn’t know His Holiness was a registered Repug at one time, though I’m sure he would reconsider that now (if I may venture a guess here)...the fact that Meth Head Bannon spoke out against the Pope definitely counts favorably towards the latter as far as I’m concerned (Vatican authority Massimo Faggioli is interviewed)...I agree that, given that Leo has come from a strife-torn region in this hemisphere, he’s not likely to back down against the murderous rantings of Mango Mussolini...

Update: And why am I not surprised by this?

...well, seeing as how it appears that Our Orange Lunatic isn’t talking about “the big funny” lately, maybe I can now focus on some domestic stuff...I’ve been meaning to get to this item from Kyle Kulinski where the CEO of Five Guys gave out $1.5 million in bonuses because he didn’t want anyone to go all Luigi Mangione on his ass (allegedly!)...I mean, yeah, good behavior by the Five Guys head but for questionable reasons I guess (and I also think the guy in charge was nodding off a bit if he thought his site wouldn’t get crashed over the free burger promotion)...and no, about Mangione, I don’t condone violence against anybody – GMAFB! (NSFW/H)...

...and Robert Reich tells us about a ballot referendum to end Citizens United in Montana, believe it or not – I’m pretty sure I noted that in the post about the “No Kings” protests on 3/28, but more on that is here...looks like the folks in “big sky country” are trying to curb corporate spending, commendably enough...good point that corporations are indeed created by the states in which they are chartered and can be regulated by the states in which they operate (incorporated usually in Delaware, since laws for that there are relatively easier than elsewhere)...

...and after this recent madness, I’m more in need of another tune this week to mellow out a bit (and posting may get goofed up again, just to let you know).

Tuesday Stuff

Rachel Maddow discusses the lies of the Gropenfuhrer about the Iran war, to say nothing of the slapdash approach by the command individuals in our military, including not notifying Kuwait about the activity of our fighter jets, allowing three of them to be shot down by that country (not blaming the brave rank-and-file folks serving our country, but I only mean to point out that this is the result of all of the firings of command leaders in our services by our ruling regime, namely, that you end up with incompetents taking their places and leaving our military exposed...oh, and SecDef Kegseth just also fired the Army chief of staff in the middle of this Iranian escapade)...one of the awful consequences of this disastrous war is the fact that our military personnel have to be shunted to hotels and elsewhere since their bases are no longer secure...didn’t know that the flunkies in #47’s cabinet were getting the housing from all of the military leaders who were told to “hit the bricks” by our ruling regime of frauds and pretenders...and more than 10K vets lost their homes to foreclosure because our ruling bunch of idiots wrecked a rescue provision in the VA home loan program...I’d heard about the wife of Staff Sgt. Matthew Blank getting detained and sent to an immigrant prison (as well as ICE goons threatening to arrest family members attending ceremonies for basic training graduates) – the depravity and corruption of our ruling regime is truly bottomless (“internal communication failure” on the detentions my ass)...

...and Mike Figueredo lets us know what we’ve likely already guessed, and that is that GOP policy makers are more detached from reality than ever before...Trump is definitely the dumbest *preznit; ”power and stoo-pidity is a deadly combination” indeed...and I’d heard about the business with FEMA’s Gregg Phillips claiming he was teleported (or similar wording) to a Waffle House...and boy, does it ever fit the profile that Phillips is an election denier from not just ’20, but ’16 also (an election that his boss actually won, in terms of the electoral vote anyway, as much as it pains me to admit that)...and it looks like Devin “Don’t Have A Cow” Nunes is apparently blocking Phillips on Truth Septic – pass the popcorn...also, I don’t share Figueredo’s comments about Catholicism, but I have to admit that idiots like Phillips make that topic fair game...more on “flat earther” Kandiss Taylor is here, BTW (“this would be a globe if I were a normal person” for sure)...oh, and I’d forgotten about Big Stupid Head Matt Gaetz, but unfortunately he’s back claiming that humans are having sex with aliens, and as far as I know, none of the aliens are underage (looks like somebody has been “getting his beak wet” in the Absinthe)...and it also looks like the “migrant caravans” are back, because why the hell not as long as we’re replaying Diaper Donnie’s Greatest Hits...next on our hit parade is Nancy Mace, running for governor of South Carolina (and I actually share Figueredo’s sentiment about getting her out of Congress...I know there are nice spots in SC, but overall, the quality of life in that state is utterly awful)...looks like Mace would try to ban “chemtrails”...(uuumm, O-kaaay)...I must’ve missed the memo on the apparently mortal threat from water vapor and ice crystals, but I guess as far as Mace is concerned, the calamitous effects of climate change (including the vanishing Colorado River) as well as pollution in our air, food and groundwater is a-OK...and no report on Repug wackadoodles would be complete without Paula White comparing Dementia J. Trump to Our Lord, and just in time for Easter (and believe me when I tell you that I am indeed offended by White and her garbage)...(NSFW/H)...

...and John and Jayar of The Damage Report given us more fallout from Combover Caligula’s profanity-laden Easter message...when you’ve got Alex Jones, of all people, telling you to “dial it back,” I would say you’ve gone too far even for Our Treasonous Orange Pestilence...yep, just tell our brave men and women in the military to commit war crimes; just turn up the goddamn Lee Greenwood soundtrack louder to drown out voices of dissent I guess...and I know there are great people of all political stripes who marched on No Kings Day about 10 days ago, and credit to them, but I’ve given up on expecting sanity and rationality from the “party of Lincoln” overall when it comes to the Tangerine Toddler...

...and Farron Cousins informs us that, according to a story in Politico, Repug canvassers across the country are “hating their lives right now”; I wish I could feel sorry for them, but I don’t...pretty bad, though, that they’re getting attacked by their own voters...sounds like Craig Berland and Todd Gillman truly are masters of the obvious when it comes to the issues rightly dragging down their party, to say nothing of the rest of the country...

...also, I’m going to add a couple of clips here because Our Sweaty Orange Bronzer Boy is threatening total annihilation...Paul Krugman calls this “America’s Darkest Hour,” and he could be right...indeed, our brave men and women of the military should refuse any order from Our Orange Lunatic which would constitute a war crime, and anyone in this outlaw regime should also resign in response (yeah...good luck with that, I know)...Krugman makes his case quietly and in a matter of fact manner, which makes it all the more powerful as far as yours truly is concerned (definitely miss his columns in the Times, but I understand why he decided that he’d had enough of that)...also, any Repug politician who remains silent over this (and that includes Bri-Fi, and this guy, assuming anybody can even find him) is also complicit, and I don’t mean to give the Dems a blanket pass here either, but Cheetoh Hitler has the “R” after his name, not a “D”...and how ironic that, if something utterly catastrophic DOES take place, then Pam “Blondi” and Dog Killer Noem will be absolved of it because they were already shown the door...

...and in case you thought the other side would actually sober up and try to prevent this...well, I give you this Lance Wallnau character who depicts Trump as “an Old Testament Prophet King,”...and this guy think he’s knows more about this country than the Founders who put their lives, property and their honor on the line to endow us with what we’ve enjoyed for almost 250 years...hell, Wallnau and his fellow wingnuts are probably cheering on all of the destruction that may or may not be forthcoming...

...and Mr. Newberger presents this item about Pam (“The Dow Is At 50K!”) Bondi and Kristi (“Unsafe At Any Speed”) Noem, both of whom are currently out of a job as noted...yeah, I think the treatment is deserved here (and it’s more than a little telling that, in all likelihood, the replacements for both will likely be “upward fail son” white men)...

...and today would have been the 75th birthday for drummer Bruce Gary of The Knack.
