I’m going to try and catch up with Keith Olbermann’s great “Resistance” commentaries – here, he discusses testimony of former FBI Director James Comey confirming coordination with 2 different investigations into the Trump/Russia garbage (likely grand juries), an admission that probably got Comey fired by our ruling cabal…



…and this actually precedes the prior clip (yep, about Michael Flynn’s clearance and how it supposedly was Obama’s fault – “that’s the end of that subject”…yeah, sure…and oh yeah, any reason why Jill Stein gets a pass on all of this?)…



…and moving up chronologically a bit on this stuff, Sam Seder tells us that the regime of Fergus Laing, in addition to not knowing what they’re doing, also has no clue about how to manage the proverbial optics on the issues, holding court with possibly the last remaining member of the last presidential administration in which the chief executive resigned in disgrace…



…and this guy needs to work on his presentation skills a bit, but he’s onto a typically ridiculous story from the administration of the “Gropenfuhrer,” one in which HHS Secretary Tom Price tried to get a reporter arrested for asking a question (and coming from the Trumpsters, this should surprise absolutely no one – NSFW)…



…and I thoroughly agree with Bill Maher’s disgust over those on our side who couldn’t bring themselves to vote for HRC; yeah, maybe he’s treading on well-worn ground at this point, but he’s right…Maher’s imperfect on a lot of issues to be sure, but he was absolutely spot-on to warn us (NSFW)…

Oh, and waaay down in the bottom right corner of the front page was a itsy bitsy, teenie weenie little text box with an AP story about the fact that – oh, by the way – the sitting president of the U.S. just fired the FBI director conducting an investigation of that president in the matter of his all-but-confirmed personal involvement in collaborating with a foreign power in an effort to win a presidential election.

…and I agree with Kyle K.’s analysis of this exchange between Bill Maher and Elizabeth Warren recently (NSFW – and I think his comment about the anti-establishment candidate was spot-on, and I hope he’s right at the very end)…



Update: I know Kyle has a point in criticizing Maher for attacking the voters, but I just happened to see some polling data on the GA-06 U.S. House Race between Jon Ossoff and Karen Handel, and apparently it’s a virtual tie.

How the hell could this have happened? Is it because Jon Ossoff suddenly forgot how to run a good campaign and present himself as a candidate who could make a difference? Or that, somehow, Karen Handel found a way to actually address core issues important to the voters of that district?

I’m sure the answer to all of these questions is No. It’s probably because the district is being inundated with negative ads against Ossoff and the typical dog whistles from the right that work a majority of pretty-much-low-information voters into a lather. And of course, the response goes out to donations all over the place to try and outspend people who seem to be able to drop a grand like I would drop a $20 bill (thank you once more, High Court of Hangin’ Judge JR, For Citizens United!).

Given that, how is Maher wrong?

I should note that I have no data to back up my argument. I admit that I’m saying this based on past experience, and as always, I’d love to be incorrect on this.

But I don’t think I am. And unfortunately, that makes Maher exactly right.

Update 5/5/17: Concerning GA-06, though, this definitely is good news.

In shorter words, if he had made money pitching coloring books, for example, I wouldn’t have had an objection.)

As someone more clever than I noted, I guess departing Repug U.S. House Rep Jason Chaffetz wants to spend more time looking through Hillary Clinton’s Emails at home (and yes, I believe there is a lot more to this also – and Cenk’s dismissive tone is entirely appropriate)…

…and I think Rachel Maddow is actually reaching a bit here by starting with the whole Nigerian cash thing, though she’s absolutely spot-on about the Trumpster slush fund – didn’t give much of a thought to Venezuela, I have to admit, as well as the person from that country basically paying off the "Gropenfuhrer" to lift sanctions...as usual, a Repug - #45 in this case - looks into a mirror and sees everyone's reflection except his own...

I give you Rachel Maddow’s “A” block last night about the foreign policy gaffes of the “Gropenfuhrer” (as well as those of “Spicey,” Mattis and McMaster all apparently not knowing where our carrier was that was supposedly bound for Korea)…



…and Maddow is back to talk with presidential historian Michael Beschloss about the Korean carrier group screwup (leading with JFK on the Cuban Missile Crisis – to think that Generalissimo Trump is now sitting in that office just about turns my stomach)…



(And by the way, would it have been nice for Jon Ossoff to clear the ridiculous 50-percent hurdle in the GA-06 special election and avoid the runoff with Repug Karen Handel, an avowed opponent of Planned Parenthood? Yes, but let’s look at it another way – Ossoff secured more votes in coming in first than all of his Republican challengers.

Yes, this means more appeals for money, and yes, this means more ridiculous attack ads from a political party with no desire or impulse of any kind whatsoever for forward-thinking leadership. But, though it’s about three-quarters of the proverbial loaf instead of the whole thing, it’s still progress, and we must not forget that.)

…and Joy-Ann Reid talks with David Sanger, on the Obama Administration’s evolving strategy against North Korea’s nukes (investing in cyber and other electronic attacks – you know, the way adult presidential leaders are supposed to handle stuff like this)…



…and I think Kyle K. is a little hard on Think Progress here, but he’s absolutely right about President Big Orange Cheetoh’s meely-mouthed “Buy American” posturing (NSFW)…
