A Quick Patrick Murphy Update

Don’t blink or you’ll miss it (trying not to type too fast before I lose my network connection) – the Bucks County Courier Times noted the following last Saturday…

Thumbs Up: To Bucks County Congressman (Murphy) for introducing legislation aimed at getting more financial aid for the children of police officers, firefighters and other emergency personnel killed in the line of duty.

The Daniel Faulkner Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship Act of 2008 would waive income eligibility requirements and make the child of a slain emergency responder automatically eligible for a $5,400 per year Pell Grant, the maximum level available.

“Making a college education more accessible to their children is a small gesture of thanks, but one we feel is important,” Murphy said.

We agree and appreciate Murphy’s commitment to looking out for the families of those who make the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.
